Our family took a hike with Dylan Corvales. He was one of a kind! Great energy, knowledge and humor. Our daughters got to see all kinds of incredible wildlife and learn about the local terrain. He gave us as much time as we needed to take second looks at different species that we definitely would not have found without him. Dylan’s passion and enthusiasm for nature is contagious. He positively impacted our lives with his beautiful outlook on life. We’d definitely recommend Dylan for any tour! Pura vida!

Diego was a superb guide! We were in a group of 10 and he made sure everyone had their chance to see each of the animals through the scope. He took great photos and answered all of our questions.

We saw lots of animals that we wouldn’t have spotted on our own! Mop was our guide, and he was great! He was energetic, knowledgeable and had a sixth sense to spot animals. The equipment he had was top notch, and he shared the amazing photos of the animals we saw. I highly recommend this tour!

Very knowledgeable, friendly guide with excellent English. We were lucky to spot some snakes, sloth, and other animals.

Mauro was absolutely incredible. He was personable, knowledgeable, fun and had a keen eye to spot so many amazing wildlife critters! We initially contemplated going to the park ourselves and then decided to give this a try. We are SO glad we worked with Mauro- I think we would have seen maybe 2-3 things our own. We saw 4 sloths (admittedly was lucky) but we would have seen 0 without him. Absolutely worth it. Highly recommend!

Incredible! I can’t recommend Mauro enough. He’s very knowledgeable and spots creatures you’d never see otherwise. We did the 7am tour which is really key in having a head start before the crowds. We saw so many things: multiple sloths, hummingbirds, a vine snake, the most spectacular grasshopper, bats, iguanas, crabs, frog egg cases, a toucan, birds, butterflies, lizards, and so much more. We really appreciated all the scientific explanations. He takes great photos with his scope and shares them after the tour. We continued walking after the tour and only saw a lizard, so a tour guide makes all the difference in seeing the abundant wildlife the park has to offer.

Our guide was Harold and he was fantastic! It was 100% worth the money to have him as a guide for the first 2 hours of our park visit. Booking at 7am was ideal, as there were fewer other visitors and was not too hot yet. Harold had an uncanny ability to spot many animals that we never would have seen otherwise. He was knowledgeable about the animals, spoke excellent English, and was very personable. We were able to look at the animals and take incredible pictures and videos through his powerful scope. In fact, he took the pics/videos for me and knew how to use my camera features better than I did! We saw 4 sloths, one at very close range, basilisk lizards, red land crabs, a hawk, bats, and more. He dropped us off by the beaches and gave us tips on where else to go in the park.

Mauro was a great tour guide! He was really personable and knew so much. He found things none of us would've seen on our own and took great pictures for us, on our own phones, through his scope. If you haven't been to the area before, stay alert when you get closer to the park. There are a lot of official looking folks trying to sell you tickets and parking. Mauro warned us about them so we were ready to tell them we already had what we needed when we drove in. The beach at the end of the tour was beautiful and so relaxing. 100% recommend!

My 17 yo daughter and I loved this tour! Mop was our tour guide, and he was awesome! He had us laughing and was very knowledgeable about Manuel Antonio National Park, as he has been a tour guide there for over 20 years. It was amazing how quickly and easily he was able to spot even the tiniest creatures for us to view through his incredible lens. He took great pictures for us, which he provided at the end of the tour. We saw a couple of sloths, a howler monkey and her baby, a crab, a snake, a spider, bugs, a bird, and a frog. There's no way we would have seen any of it without Mop.

Mauro has creature spotting superpowers, and is extremely knowledgeable. He is friendly, engaging and patient. A great tour.

HIGHLY Recommend. We booked the private tour with Mauro and it was truly everything I imagined it to be and more! Mauro was extremely knowledgeable “in his office” as he calls Manuel Antonio Park 😄. We were truly amazed at how he was able to spot the animals and show us. I told him which animals I was really excited to see and we saw all but a toucan but he offered tips so I can be on the lookout throughout the rest of my trip. The next morning he sent me a video of a toucan he spotted at the beginning of the other tour! I was so happy. Thank you again, Mauro!

Mauro is a must book! He made this a very memorable experience for my boyfriend and I. Extremely friendly, responsive, and so knowledgeable. Without him, we would have not seen any animals! He also made sure we were able to capture the best photos. Do not hesitate — book Mauro for your tour guide !

We loved visiting the park! Get a guide or you won't see any wildlife. Luis was AMAZING and took so much time explaining the animal behaviors. He took videos and photos for us to take home and share. Ask for him!
Ricardo_A, Jan 2025
Mauro was brilliant - one of the best at spotting hard to see wildlife. He was very knowledgeable about the floral and fauna of the park. Wildlife is always unpredictable but we saw 3 types of monkey, 2 types of sloth, and many bats, birds, bugs, and lizards.
Mauro was also very understanding about changing plans.

There's no reason to go to Manuel Antonio without a guide, you will not see anything. Our guide was excellent, thanks!

Amazing experience with Mauro in Manuel Antonio Park. Saw so many animals we never would have seen. We went with the private tour to maximize our time and didn’t regret it. Saw sloths, monkeys, crabs, birds none of which we would have seen without Mauro’s guidance and spotting scope. Totally worth it!

Mauro is extremely knowledgeable about everything and anything you could see on his tour! More an adventure really. He was able name every bit of flora and fauna we encountered. He told us about their history and origins too. Had we not had Mauro, we would not have seen 5% of what he spotted for us. We really appreciated that he encouraged us to point stuff out and ask questions. Getting the photos and videos he took on our adventure is a huge bonus! This was an absolutely fantastic adventure! I very highly recommend Mauro!

Mauro was a fantastic guide. He gave us clear instructions of how to navigate to safe and easy parking, and to meet him. Without him, we would have never seen all of the sloths, birds, insects, cauti, monkeys, spiders, etc. His telescope let us see so many amazing living creatures up close. One added benefit, he took photos of every creature we saw through his telescope and airdropped us the photos at the end. This allowed us to put down our phones and just observe nature without worrying about taking photos. We would have never seen all we did without him. Highly recommend taking this tour!

Jordan (or JJ) was an amazing guide. You could tell how much he enjoyed what he did and spent a lot of time searching and successfully finding a ton of wildlife. He was super knowledgable about all of the plants, insects, mammals and birds and spotted a lot of things we just would never have seen. He had a great scope and could spot a lot of things from far away which allowed us to see them better and get great photos. We saw monkeys, sloths, snakes, birds insect etc etc. Also getting a guide is 100% worth it as they share info with each other if they spot something cool. Again the experience was great and would highly recommend JJ!

We had a great time with our excellent guide, Josué. He helped see so much wildlife and provided answers to all our questions. The park is beautiful and we truly enjoyed it.
audel_d, Jun 2024
Mauro was very profesional and accommodating. I took the tour with my 8 year old son and Mauro was great at making things fun for him. All of the guides share animal sighting tips which led us to a baby viper and several sloths. Overall, we saw a lot of cool animals, insects and birds that we definitely would not have seen on our own. They were hiding in plain sight. Thanks Mauro for a great tour.
Rosie_B, Feb 2024
Fabulous! Our guide 'Mop' was experienced, knowledgeable, and his ability to spot wildlife was super human! You cannot do this reserve without a guide & their telescope you will see absolutely zero wildlife. And the amount we saw with Mop made it great value for money. Don't go early, that's when the crowds are, and you're shaded by canopy a lot anyway so can avoid the heat. We did 10am and it was perfect, some other groups but not too many.
Cindy_S, Jan 2024
We had an awesome time with Mauro. He was very knowledgeable and has a lot of patience in helping you to see the wildlife. He has a very high quality scope and takes incredible pictures with your camera through the lens. He’s very personal and we give him a high recommendation.
Mirandi_M, Jan 2024
Great experience! Mauro was very knowledgeable and friendly. We were glad for the tip to avoid parking scammers. It was great to be able to see the animals from Mauros scope and to have the photos he took provided at the end of the tour at no extra cost. We were glad we did the early tour so that we could eat lunch (you can’t take your own food in) and enjoy the beaches in the park after. We were in the park almost until close. The only thing we wish we had known sooner was that they don’t allow you to take plastic into the park so make sure if you plan to take your own water take a reusable container.
michelle_k, Jan 2024
Mauro is an excellent guide! We would not have seen so many fascinating things without his knowledge, patience and telescope. This was our favorite experience of our vacation. We saw multiple Sloths, even a baby!, monkeys, birds nesting, lizards that were actually cute….and more! Go early in the day - we went at 7 AM and it was cool throughout most of our tour.
Nicholas_E, Jan 2024
Mauro shared a a ton of information on the local wildlife and was able to spot so many animals that we would have never seen on our own. A guide is key to having an awesome experience in Manuel Antonio and Mauro is the guy.
Lydia_C, Jan 2024
Our guide was fantastic, you could tell he really enjoyed nature and explaining the animals and the history of the park to us. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the park, otherwise you will be looking at trees, bushes, the creek and you will miss EVERYTHING. He took all the pics and shared them with the group, giving you the opportunity to really enjoy the tour.
alexgrigorescu, Jan 2024
Mauro was the ultimate professional. Great communication, on time, extraordinary guide. As someone else mentioned in a previous post, we probably would have only seen a very small fraction of the animals we did see, had we been on our own.. He even helped other guides by spotting animals that they did not (and by translating in English some words they did not know). We saw almost all the animals we had hoped to see, got dozens of great pictures, learned many new facts, and had a wonderful time. Highly recommend.
Kelly_C, Jan 2024
Mauro is an exceptional guide. We highly recommend him! Our family of 5 saw so much wildlife that we would’ve never spotted on our own. We even saw a mother sloth with her baby ❤️
Amanda_M, Dec 2023
Mauro was so helpful! First, he was able to help us secure park tickets when they were sold out. He is incredibly knowledgable and helped us to spot a sloth with a baby, track a howler monkey, toucan, and many smaller critters- bats, snakes, plants, etc. He is also talented at photos with his special telescope. Without Mauro’s help, even if successful securing tickets otherwise, we would have missed so many special aspects. Thank you, Mauro.
