Super informative tour of coffee and cacao. The guide will give you a lot of facts on their history. They will also then present some cacao dishes you can partake in tasting as well as coffee drinks. They also made pure sugar cane juice from sugar cane using a pressing machine made out of two cylinders that feeds the sugar cane stalk through and squeezes out the juice. Very cool

10/10 recommended

Emily_M, Feb 2025
So fun and informative. Juan is very personable. I loved seeing all the plants- cocoa, coffee, vanilla, ginger, turmeric, flowers etc. Even saw a large frog-eating snake. We got to eat cocoa nibs, the pulp from a cocoa pod, hot chocolate, make-your-out fruit and chocolate bowls, coffee, and a shot of a mixed drink that I don’t recall the name. It was a very fun afternoon

Response from Host, Feb 2025

Hello dear Emily, thanks for taking a moment to share your experience with us, we are happy to know that you enjoyed learning a little about history of cacao and also try the different products we create with it at the farm. Also so lucky to see a snake during the tour that was a big plus! Please dont forget to recommend us to all your family and friends visiting Costa Rica. Warmest regards. rrh

Amazing!

Deney_P, Feb 2025
We booked this tour last minute and loved it! We went with a five year old, a 17 year old and older grandparents and everyone had a great time (there is a short trail but none of us had issues with the trail at all). Brian made an immediate connection with our 5 year old and made the tour fun for her...she fell in love with Brian. We had a late lunch at the Bonding Hotel (owned and operated by the same tour company) and everything was delicious. Our 17 year old said today was his favorite day so far (to be fair, he also did the zip coaster that is about 15 minutes from this tour but the tour is part of what he enjoyed today). I highly recommend this tour.

Response from Host, Feb 2025

Coffee and Chocolate Tour - Manuel Antonio

Cindy_M, Jun 2024
The tour was very educational and a great way to spend a few hours with 2 teenagers. I would recommend this tour and Luis to everyone.

Very nice tour

Indy_P, Jun 2024
Very nice informative and interactive tour with a nice guide named Gregory. During the tour he told us about the proces of the making of chocolate en we tasted the products of a few steps. After this we learned more about coffee and sugercane. Very nice tour, we learned and tasted a lot, would recommend this tour to everyone.

Great tour near Manuel Antonio National Park.

Eric_A, Jun 2024
Great tour to do that is near Manuel Antonio National Park. Our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable about the plants, animals and the plantation. Samples were awesome and me and my adult kids all loved it. We learned about chocolate and coffee and how all of this made and how they fit in with the culture of Costa Rica.

Coffee and chocolate

michael_l, May 2024
The guide was very funny, Very knowledgeable and extremely welcoming to the group. We had a blast doing it, and it was one of my favorite parts of Costa Rica. I can't wait to try the coffee we bought from the store there.

Great tour

Fausta_L, May 2024
I really loved this tour. Our guide shared so much really interesting information, often in stories about the history of coffee and the people who've worked with coffee - and those of us who enjoy it! But some the best parts were getting to taste the chocolate and coffee that come from this amazing bean.

Good Tour

Cassie_L, Mar 2024
We enjoyed this tour and the farm had a great gift shop with reasonably priced coffee and chocolate. I recommend bringing cash for souvenirs!

Lovely

chafeheather, Mar 2024
Pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this tour. I like learning about new things so when I had a day with nothing on my schedule I decided to go on this short, affordable tour and am very glad I did. Very informative with several tasty treats.

10/10

Janine_J, Jan 2024
What a fun and educational experience! Highly recommend. Gregory is a delight. We loved trying all the different versions of the cacao.

Yummy!

Kathryn_O, Jan 2024
Great chance to see and learn about the cacao and taste some homemade chocolate. Enjoyed the tour! Note: cacao is pollinated by biting midges not mosquitoes and some of the nutritional information is not true.

Average, not very special, missed some details and hand on action

Aletta_S, Jan 2024
For me a bit too basic tour, we didn’t get to do a lot ourselves, explanations were good but not super detailed. however to call it a chocolade and coffee tour is I think not right. The only coffee thing we had was a cup of coffee and one explanation you dont roast good quality coffee for too long.

Amazing

Kristina_C, Jun 2023
What an amazing experience! The tour, guide, everything not only met but definitely exceeded my expectations! Would definitely recommend!

Great experience!

Stephen_O, Jun 2023
This was a wonderful and unexpected tour. It isn't a plantation it's a natural growing environment that the staff takes great pride in down to hand pollinating vanilla plants. We learned a great deal about chocolate and it's history in costa rica. The transportation was easy, the guide was patient and was open to all of our questions. One of the best tours I've done in costa rica so far.
