Glorified Trip to a Gift Shop

This experience is not a “tour” or much of an “experience”. What you are paying for is a glorified trip to a gift shop. In our case the coffee tasting portion of the trip took about 20 min and was done by a nice employee of the shop. There was however not much in the way of added value or any real information on coffee or “pairing” other than the basics. If you’ve travelled at all you’ve probably been enticed, at least once, if not many times, into visiting a shop to see some “authentic” specialty of the area or craftsmanship by a tour, guide or cabdriver, only to find out that the main goal is to sell you stuff. Those experiences can be fun and the only thing lost is usually some time. In this case you pay money to have the same experience. So unless you want to pay to visit a gift shop, which, I would suggest you could do for free (or for the minimal cost of a cab, if you really want to go), I would look for something more substantive.

I wasn't expecting to be dropped off at a store and then made to sit for 2 hours before we started our session. Our coffee session lasted no more than 30 mins. We learned a lot about coffee. We spent most of our time waiting. I would pass on doing this again.
