Rancho Capone is a beautiful ranch in the Sierra Madre mountains. The trail is stunning with small running river, cows and lined with trees along the way. The trail to the waterfall was tough but worth the views when you get there. Just amazing. Lunch was wonderful. Would recommend this outing.

We had a really great time. Lots of communication about pickup. Horses were very well behaved but also had their own personalities. You were given lots of freedom while riding. There was a bit of a hike in the middle that we were not totally expecting. Luckily we wore runners but be prepared to climb many stairs. Lunch and beers were a really great ending to the experience (my husband would like the chicken recipe)!

Rancho Capone is a beautiful ranch in the Sierra Madre mountains. The trail is stunning with small running river, cows and lined with trees along the way. The trail to the waterfall was tough but worth the views when you get there. Just amazing. Lunch was wonderful. Would recommend this outing.

Beginning with an easy location pickup/dropoff, this was an extraordinary 1/2 day experience.
The horses were all very well mannered and even first time riders were comfortable.
The ride to the falls hike area was very nice.
Fair warning: the hike to the falls is not for the faint of heart or legs, otherwise, a very good aerobic experience.
The waterfall itself is beautiful, good picture opportunity.
I loved the guides and ranch staff, everyone was happy to have us, answer our questions and feed us lunch.
I will definitely recommend these guys as a great way to explore even though they wouldn't let me keep my horse🙂

Our driver Beto was engaging and informative and made sure that we were safe and comfortable from pickup through the ride and hike and return again. The staff was attentive and generous with their time and attention. The horseback ride was beautiful and relaxing. The hike to the waterfall was a bit challenging but we could hear the huge falls encouraging us on. And what a reward! So beautiful after the recent rains! The post ride meal was delicious with a little demo of tortillas being made. The tequila tasting and generous drinks were a treat to finish a one of a kind experience. Cannot forget to mention how much we enjoyed our horses , the amazing butterflies and the little dogs who thoroughly enjoyed accompanying us. Would definitely recommend if you’re in need for an unplugged reconnect with nature.

Very adventurous ride through the river (crossed back/forth multiple times). Hiked to a beautiful waterfall and then rode back to the ranch. Lunch was fantastic and the margaritas were refreshing. Highly recommend. The horses are well taken care of the dogs are friendly and run along during the ride.

2 hour horse ride, more 1.5 hour followed by good lunch, more than enough. Supposed to include a Mexican cooking class but wasn’t, supposed to include waterfall but wasn’t. Good to explore the countryside.

The experience begins with a 45-minute ride to the ranch, followed by a beautiful horseback journey through tough terrain — including multiple river crossings. However, there is very little instruction provided on how to ride a horse.
During the ride, my horse got too close to another and was kicked, which caused both the rider in front of me and myself to lose balance and hang on tightly to avoid falling. Afterward, the guide mentioned that I could have directed my horse to keep more distance — something I wish I’d been told earlier.
That said, the ride to the waterfall was absolutely stunning and a memory I’ll cherish forever. The lunch afterward was also delicious.

This was a great experience from beginning to end! Beto picked us up in a van with AC and we had a nice conversation with him while we went to another stop. He kept the entire bus entertained for the whole drive. The ranch was so cute and you’re immediately greeted by some dogs that love to be pet, and wonderful views of their agave fields, horses, and patio area with open bar overlooking the greenery and river. They had paintings for sale from a local artist displayed throughout the area and a room for tasting some very smooth homemade tequila and assorted flavors of liqueurs, all for sale. We were each assigned a horse and given a quick run through of how to handle them, which was so easy and the horses were very well trained and calm. The entire ride was peaceful going through the mountains, rivers, and ending up at some stairs ascending into the mountain in order to get to a beautiful secluded waterfall! We had the opportunity to take some pictures and others did a quick dip in the water. This part was only about 10-15 minutes. The hike itself was a good amount of steps and needed a small amount of physical activity to complete, but it was worth it, and the dogs followed us on the whole trip! When we came back, others in our group prepared for zip-lining and ATV tours, which looked really fun too and I wish we signed up for the combo! We were given a really refreshing margarita in a cantarito and some ingredients to make our own pico de gallo. After this, we took our drink and went to the back to meet a couple of the workers and how they made the handmade tortillas over a mesquite grill. We were then served a full plate of chicken and beef fajitas, beans, rice, guac, molcajete salsa, chips, and the fresh tortillas with our own pico! This food was AMAZING! The meats were so juicy and all sides were great to add to the tortillas like a taco! I should have asked if I could take some tortillas back home! We drank another margarita and relaxed before getting back into the van for the ride home. Beto was so kind to take us even closer to where we were staying than the pick up spot. This was a great experience and you could tell all the workers love doing this and we felt so welcomed the entire time. By the time we got home, we were definitely tired! Worth every penny!

Everything was as advertised, fun for most people. The staff, driver was helpful and friendly. If you are going to hike up to the waterfall and are in less than normal physical condition, you may struggle or wish to skip that part of the activity. Very happy with this tour, fun for most ages above 12.

Our driver was absolutely amazing! He was also our main guide on the tour! Made the lunch and Tequila tasting so cool as well as seeing the tortillas being made. Even though we went during the dry season (didn't know that) the trail was still so unique and the spared us the hike to the waterfall since it was dry. Overall, wonderful experience!

This was my favorite tour during my vacation in Puerto Vallarta. Our tour guide was very friendly and made us all feel very safe while writing the horses, which were very gentle. The staff at the restaurant were so accommodating and never allowed our Margarita glasses to be empty! Also, the food was top-tier. This was an excellent value, not to mention, they pick you up and drop you off.

Good experience, would do it again!
Our guide picked us up on time and then it was an hour and fifteen minutes drive out to the ranch. Our guide told us about restaurants and other spots along the way. The ride was cool, as we went through a first and stream bed and then went for a hike to a waterfall at the end. It was pretty hot, so dress accordingly. Afterwards we had a nice lunch at the ranch and then they dropped us off at our starting location. My house was a little moody, but the rest were nice and calm.

A relaxed, scenic, and shady ride along a riverbed on calm and well-taken care of horses. The waterfall was beautiful, even in the dry season. Lunch was great too, as was the tequila tasting!

Amazing experience! My girls hadn’t ridden horses before this trip and now they are obsessed! The ranch is beautiful, the horses gorgeous, the length of time on the trail with the horses was worth the money for sure! The guides were amazing and helpful the entire time. The meal afterwards was delicious icing on the cake. We highly recommend this experience.

We were picked up at the Starbucks in marina district. Our driver/tour guide Beto was fantastic. Very personable on the 30-40min drive to the mountain side. The horseback ride was mellow but beautiful scenery. The rivers weren’t high which was nice all little creeks. The hike to waterfall isn’t lengthy 5-10min but definitely gets the heart pumping. It’s Dry season so it wasn’t a lot of water at the waterfall and water was pretty chilly. Not ideal for swimming but good photo-op then back on the horses you go. Tequila tasting was pretty quick and a little pricey if you’re interested in taking home a small bottle. But, a great keepsake. Making the pico was cute and fun. The fresh tortillas were delish along with the tacos. We honestly loved Beto & would highly recommend the ranch.

My daughters and I enjoyed the beautiful scenery on horseback. The hike to the waterfall is not for the weak. Recommend closed-toed shoes for safety because of the steepness and rocks. The lunch after the ride was delicious! We met friendly people in our group and we enjoyed our time together.

Everyone was very professional. Horses well maintained. Food was very tasty and plentiful. Pick ups were timely. Everyone was very friendly. English was spoken for those that don't speak Spanish.

Pickup time was scheduled at 8:40a, didn’t arrive until close to 9a with no responses from Jonathan who texted the night before confirming pickup time until 9:07a. When the shuttle finally arrived, it was full of a family. When I politely approached the shuttle, the dad of the family basically told me I wasn’t welcomed on the shuttle, that it was full and private for his family. Sergio (the tallest Hispanic of their crew) also stopped me from boarding. He pointed using his arm aggressively and told me to step aside, I guess while he called to confirm if I was a paid customer. After confirming he spoke at me in a tone that was disturbing and told me to go “over there” which was to a different shuttle. He then handled me roughly from there with every encounter with him. He spoke to me aggressively and demeaning. The other shuttle was also just about full. We were packed in there like Sardines as the other passenger stated and some had to sit on the floor. It was very uncomfortable from the start and during the ride. The ride is over an hour long, just imagine sitting uncomfortably on the floor for over an hour. Sergio from the start was very rude, aggressive, disrespectful and discriminatory towards me. I would not recommend this experience to people of color. I was the only black woman in the group and he made sure to treat me different than the rest who were mostly Caucasian and Hispanic. Thankfully though to the Hispanic dad who was there with his two girls who witnessed the consistent mistreatment and took up for me. He protected me by telling Sergio I was with him and his family speaking in Spanish so Sergio could knock it off and stop treating me indifferent. Others noticed it to how he was rushing me and did not provide me with the supplies or service as he did them but they didn’t speak on it. Two young Hispanic stepped in at one point to include me but Sergio and his sidekick who was the server, I think his name was Renaldo, I may be mistaken. Sergio didn’t want me to partake in the tequila sampling and did not treat me equally as the others inside yet again. I didn’t get to experience the service I paid for due to his discrimination behavior. It was my birthday and he ruined this first experience. If the shuttle service could be improved and if Sergio (hope I got his name correctly) and the server guy that was the ranch was not there, maybe this would be better but honestly I would not recommend. What a disappointing experience. I definitely request a full refund.
