We had a great experience with Diego and Kristhian. They were both friendly and professional. Everything was provided at no extra cost, all you need to bring is sunscreen and a swimsuit. We were traveling with Norwegian Cruise Line, and they picked us up right outside the Puerto Vallarta port, which was very convenient. One thing to note: the ship time and local PV time may be one hour different (this happened to us), so be sure to double-check the time to avoid missing the class. You definitely don’t want to miss it!

We had a really good time! They picked us up and took us to a spot where the waves were good that day. Very helpful instructions and we were in the water within half an hour. Then it was straight surfing for about 2 hours. They were really good about trying to get us to do more throughout the day and try harder waves. Overall was a super great experience and the guys were so nice and helpful.

Okala Surf school was great! My wife and I were both first timers and felt like novice surfers by the end of the day.
We were picked up and driven to a beginners spot with great conditions - trust them to find the best waves for your level and for the conditions of the day.
Super nice and instructive - we feel like we’ve picked up a new hobby for when we’re on vacation!

What a great first surfing experience for our son. We were picked up just outside the PV cruise terminal and taken to a beach in the Banderas Bay with the most excellent waves for all levels of surfing. The guides gave step by step instructions before they jumped in the water with our son. The guides were right there in the water every step of the way including GoPro footage we can't wait to see. Snacks and shade were provided at no additional cost. Great company don't hesitate to book this excursion' you will be sorry if you don't. You can't beat the 1:1 instruction. We were back to the ship with hours to spare.

We had an absolutely amazing experience with Okala Surf School — truly a 10/10 day for our family. Our 14 and 10 year old had the best time. From the very start, everything felt easy and welcoming. Diego, our driver, picked us up right at our resort and was so friendly and kind — he immediately made us all feel comfortable and excited.
We travelled to a beautiful local beach where we met Kristhian, who was incredible with the kids. He started by teaching the basics on the sand before heading into the water, which really helped build their confidence and they were standing up on their boards and surfing by the second wave.
Kristhian and Diego were there for every single wave — guiding them, encouraging them, and even taking photos so we could just enjoy the moment. Their enthusiasm was contagious. You can genuinely tell they love what they do and are grateful to share their passion for surfing with others.

Very accommodating! They kept very clear communication and picked us up and dropped us off at our resort! They were very kind and knowledgeable and let me ride along for $30USD since I did not want to surf. Surf location and time was amazing! They brought along waters and protein bars as well as an umbrella to keep me out of the sun. We will be back next time!

My 7 year old niece and I are both brand new beginners at surfing. Zero prior surfing experience. And these guys got us both up on our boards within minutes of being in the water! They picked us up/dropped us off at our hotel, provided snacks/water and all the gear and answered all of my questions about surfing and the area. This small local family run business is so well organized, friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I can see why surfing is addicting and I’ll recommend surf lessons with the guys at Okala to all my friends and family who plan to visit the area!
