To start off my husband and I went to the wrong location and got there late. Despite of that, they took such good care of us and still got us to the right place. Nicco ensured us many times and checked in with us to make sure we got to the right place. We were both very appreciative of that. Once we got there, it was a very quick and thorough lessen. They are very knowledgeable and gave great instructions. This was both our first time ever scuba diving and it was such a good experience. You got about an hour dive and got to see lots of fish and other things. Really great for a first time experience. Then once we were done it was nice to celebrate with Pina coladas on the island. Thanks so much Nicco for checking an item off my husband's bucket list.

My husband and I had such a great time at the very beginning. He was a little bit anxious, but our instructor, a great job of teaching him and he ended up having a wonderful time and wants to do it again.

Dont do it !!

Angela_C, Apr 2025
The water was so murky you couldn't see ,Jellyfish everywhere. It's a joke ,dont spend your money to go on this. We were doing introductory scuba .Go somewhere else.

Response from Host, Apr 2025

Hola Angela, Thank you for sharing your feedback about our Discover Scuba experience at Las Caletas. We sincerely apologize for the disappointing visibility and the unexpected presence of jellyfish during your session. Conditions at Las Caletas can vary greatly due to tides, plankton blooms, and weather patterns beyond our control. Please rest assured that safety remains our highest priority, and our team follows strict protocols to accommodate changing underwater conditions. Your insights are invaluable for us to improve our scheduling and pre‑dive briefings so future guests can enjoy a clearer, more comfortable experience. Warm regards,

Great adventure (first time scuba)

Totally awesome, everyone from the boat to the island was fantastic. We saw dolphins from the boat and rays along with a ton of other fish under the water. I can not wait to go back and do it again.

Rafael was a bit short...

Robert_L, Jan 2024
Rafael was a bit short with us, and lacked patience. The trip was fun, but would recommend something other than Scuba.

Response from Host, Jan 2024

Hola Robert, Thank you for sharing your experience, and we appreciate your feedback, Rafael aims to provide excellent service, and we apologize for any perceived impatience. We're glad you enjoyed the trip. Thank you for choosing us, we hope to see you back soon on a different adventure! Warm regards,

This was a solid half-day...

Hayley_E, Apr 2023
This was a solid half-day option for first time divers. I have completed 3 other 'intro dives' and this was similar experience. Scuba seminar is fast/brief on the dock. Instructors were nice. The actual dive itself is only about 40min at 35ft; minimal marine life and murky water, but still enough excitement for first timers. If you don't mind beach crowd, the remainder of the day at the Vallarta Adventures resort is worth the remaining time/price.

The visibility was poor,...

Kevin_S, Dec 2022
The visibility was poor, probably under 2 meters, and the currents were strong. Not a great experience, but the staff did their best.

Intro to Scuba Diving 05202022

Ana_H, May 2022
O.. M.. G! We had sooo much FUN! Our scuba dive was actually a cruise to Los Caletas (a great location, beach, bar) with a lot of different activities offered: beach hammocks, floating islands with hammocks, paddle boarding, kayaking, parasailing, and scuba diving. We received intro to scuba (gear, instruction, guided dive) from a certified PADI instructor and had THE highlight of our entire PVR trip! We were nervous once we first entered the water, but once under and experiencing the sights, we forgot all about being nervous. As an intro, your dive is about 45min; the guide and cameraman pointed out different fish, eels, and the greatest thing ever: a SEA TURTLE!! (sorry, they're my favorite sea animal). At the end of your dive, you're offered pictures/video: a book, a metal print, and/or the digital files. If you're considering the scuba diving, I recommend a few days before the last day of your trip as they take a couple days to deliver your photo order(s) to you. You're supposed to have 48hrs after your dive before you fly anyway, so that gives you time to receive your book/print/pictures. We live in Alaska and while I'd already been looking into PADI scuba dive instruction, I wanted my first dive to be in warmer waters (hot location) to enjoy the experience more. Loved it and am looking forward to learning/getting certified! Definitely recommend!

Vallarta Adventures - Introduction to SCUBA diving

Kendall_W, Mar 2020
The scuba lesson by our instructor Carlos was great. This was our first time scuba diving and Las Caletas was a good place for an introduction. Buffet lunch was good and plentiful. We were allowed to use other activities at Las Caletas - beach, water slides, adventure park, etc. while we waited for our turn to scuba dive. Vallarta Adventures is a great company - (not the cheapest but definitely good value and good quality). We have used them in the past and will use them in the future.
