We had such an amazing time learning how to make Pastel de Natas with Celia in her lovely home. The class was personal, friendly, and very comfortable, it felt like spending time with friends rather than a lesson. Celia was a fantastic teacher, sharing her knowledge with patience and warmth. The experience was very fun and educational and resulted in the best Pastel de Natas I have ever tasted! To top it off, we even got to taste some delicious port from her husband's collection. A truly wonderful and memorable experience, highly recommended!

Thoroughly enjoyed the experience with lovely people. Only criticism is that it was advertised with breakfast included. So turned up at 9.30am having not eaten. It was midday before the fruits of our labour were ready to eat. Apart from that would recommend 🙏

If I could give Celia 10 stars I would!! She is a master of her craft. By far the best Pastel de Nata I had and a highlight of our trip. She offered clear step by step instructions and charming stories of the origins of this decadent Portuguese tart. While we waited for the pastry to bake her husband Antonio treated us to a comparative tasting of 20 & 30 year tawny Ports. Absolutely incredible class!! Plus it included the recipe to take home. (I am anxiously awaiting for the tins to arrive so that I can make them for my friends and family.) Thank you so much Celia! ❤️

Perfect Pastels de Nata

This was a wonderful experience learning the art of making the famous Portuguese Pastel De Nata. Our host Celia was so informative and welcoming to her home for the hands on cooking lesson. This is a great way to learn about the Pastels and with Celias husband throwing in a lesson on Port for free! Our Pastels de Nata were the best I’ve ever tasted - and I have tried many! This is a lovely little slice of Portuguese hospitality and tradition.

Mimi was a well-prepared, welcoming host when my daughter and I visited her beautiful home in May. We learned the secret to making delicious Pastel de nata and also found out about the history of port in the region while we sampled some with Mimi’s husband. It was very nice to experience Portuguese hospitality on our vacation..

I surprised my boyfriend with this original workshop for his birthday. It was a big succes as you get to experience how this type of pastry is crafted while drinking Port Wine with lovely hosts. Beautiful location in the Algarve too. Friends in the Netherlands are already asking when we are going to make the patries for them ;)

We had a really wholesome experience with this family. They were both very hospitable and gave you lots of information not only about the Nata, but about Portugal and The Algarve in general. Its such a lovely experience being welcomed into the home of a local to make your own food from scratch and we would do it again in a heartbeat. We came from Portimão and she was great at giving us some information on the best way to get to her. Well worth the visit!

This was the best experience we had. Mimi and Antonio were so welcoming and sweet with a beautiful home. We had so much fun learning from Mimi. She was so talented and knew so much about her craft. The weather was so nice, we were served tea and coffee outside. Antonio told us all about Port wine! Mimi explained how to make paste de nata so well. It was a good hands on experience in a small group setting that provided insight to the Portuguese culture.

This was the most wonderful and genuine experience. We learned how to make Pastel de Nata from scratch, and they were the most delicious we tasted during our entire time in Portugal. A really warm and welcoming environment- in the wonderful home where we were offered drinks and hospitality while learning the process.

We both really enjoyed this experience and ended up with some really tasty Pastel de Natas as a reward. Célia was a great teacher with a clear step by step guidance so that we have a chance to be successful at home. It was a pleasure being invited into their beautiful home. Her and her husband were very welcoming and as a side we received an education on Port wine with some excellent samples. The 3 hours flew by as we learned about baking and Portugal.
