Benagil Cave at Sunrise

Fabio was our guide on this beautiful outing. We met the tour right at the water’s edge, making it easy to start out. Not only did we kayak into the Benagil cave, with our early tour and low tides, we went inside other caves. Along the way, he described how the caves were formed and other interesting facts. It was a worthwhile experience.

The experience was 10/10. The guides were nice and knowledgeable. They have wet bags for use if you want to bring phone or camera. Everyone left their shoes on the beach and sweaters etc. It’s not allowed for people to get onto the beach inside the cave anymore because of a few vandals ruining it for the rest of us. But we kayaked into the cave to take a look. We also went to other smaller caves where we kayaked right through in the almost pitch black. It was very cool and made the experience well worth it. Kayaking for 1.5 hours. Morning time is best because it wasn’t so crowded with boats and other kayaks. Would 100% recommend.

Fun knowledgeable guides showed us several spectacular caves, rock walls with faces (use your imagination!), geology lessons, interesting facts about the sealife and birds. Safety was utmost and they kept the group moving. Very enjoyable.
