Private Catamaran Tour Guanacaste - Anna Holala (Playa Del Coco)

We booked a full-day private catamaran sailing out of Playa Panama to celebrate my partner’s birthday, and it became the absolute highlight of our trip. If you’re staying anywhere in Guanacaste Province, this is truly a must-do experience. From the moment we were picked up, everything felt thoughtful, relaxed, and perfectly paced. We sailed north along the coast, tucking into beautiful coves and bays for breathtaking views and snorkeling. The weather, water, and scenery were all stunning. Clem and Michelle were gracious and attentive hosts, striking the perfect balance between engaging with us and allowing us to fully enjoy our time at sea. Carlos, one of the crew members, was incredibly knowledgeable — sharing local facts, wildlife insights, and cultural context that made the day feel immersive. Snorkeling with him was a highlight: we saw sea turtles, eels, puffer fish, trumpet fish, and even monkeys along the shoreline. The food and drinks exceeded expectations — welcome cocktails and fresh fruit, fresh guac and chips, oven-fired pizza, great cocktails (plus beer), and music that perfectly matched the laid-back, sunny-on-the-water vibe. The true “wow” moment was celebrating my partner’s birthday at sunset. Clem and Michelle helped me coordinate decorations and even arranged a beautiful cake from a local baker, timed perfectly for sunset — an unforgettable memory. We enjoyed this experience so much that we already know we’ll be booking it again when we return to Costa Rica.
