Mario our guide on the river was exceptional! He made our experience fun and kept us safe. The food was good, facilities clean, and everyone was professional! Mario was very knowledgeable about the area and nature. I would recommend this tour.

It's a very long drive.......it's like 3.5hours each way. It would so much better if it were closer. It's a whole entire day. 7am to 5pm

So much fun. This was my second time doing this and noticed the water was down quite a bit vs when we came in March 2023. But it did not seem to affect the experience. Love this tour.

The river was beautiful and we had a very fun time rafting. Our kids are 17 and 14 and the class 3 and 4 rapids were no problem. This was the highlight of our trip!

So much fun. We saw lots of wildlife. We were safe and our guide was excellent. Would recommend this trip if you want a little adventure. We were a group of six she’s between 30 to 62

Loved our guide, Leo. Made our family of first-time rafters feel very safe and he was a super nice guy. We were there in December so the river wasn’t at its peak (ie, not as fast) but still very fun. We enjoyed the gorgeous scenery during the slower sections and we had a blast going over the bigger rapids sections. There’s a spot where several of the boats tipped over but the guide gives you the option of staying tucked into the boat or staying seated on the side (which makes your chances of falling out more likely). So it’s up to you.
The lunch at the end was surprisingly delicious. Only downside is that the bus ride to/from launch site is a bit long and bumpy. Still worth it.

My husband, daughter, and I rafted the Tamarindo and had an amazing time! It was a super fun river, very different from others we've rafted in Costa Rica, and our guide, Luis, made us feel very safe. I would definitely do this again if in the area.

Not too difficult- but thrilling!!!! 3/4 passengers did fall out of the raft but it was so fun. Our guides Mario and Jason were entertaining and knowledgeable!

This is our 2nd time taking this trip (first time in low water season, now in high) and it was absolutely incredible. Our guide, Luis, was fabulous- a total pro who made us comfortable (even our nervous kiddo) and navigated us through some huge rapids with ease! It’s absolutely beautiful jungle and the rapids are super fun. Will do again!

We had so much fun!!! The rapids were exhilarating. Our tour guide (Mario) had 20+ years of experience and was very knowledgeable of all the different trees and wildlife along the river. His personality coupled with the rapids made our experience full of fun and excitement

Some of the most exciting whitewater rafting I've ever done. We felt completely safe and the 12 foot drop was a total thrill but don't let it scare you off, there's a big pool with no current a and lots of rescue ropes at the bottom. Also saw lots of wildlife including the .most butterflies I have ever seen, a toucan, and a few howler monkeys.

We had a group of 5 friends so they split us into 2 rafts. It was approximately 1 1/2 hours from our resort in Guanacaste to the starting point, Then we traveled about another 45 minutes to get to the starting point on the river. We were on the water about 2 hours. The guides were super friendly and made sure we all had a great and successful rafting trip. We followed the trip with a wonderful snack before heading back to the starting point to have an excellent lunch.

The terminator did not disappoint. Thanks to Sergio for his excellent navigation of the river. We were on the river for about 2 hours. Afterwards we had a well cooked meal. This excursion was one of the best that we have experienced.

The rafting was amazing. Our guide Sergio and other guides including Jason, Luis and Quan were so friendly, funny, skilled, knowledgeable, and happy to point out the toucans and monkeys we saw along the way. We were well briefed on how best to handle the big currents and felt incredibly supported and safe throughout the entire thrilling experience (and loved the pictures they took of us along the journey). We kept Sergio’s perfect streak of not falling out, due to his expertise and guidance.

It’s also important to stress that this company Native’s Way Costa Rica, is the better of the two that operate on this river. They are cheaper, Costa Rican owned, employ locals, grant local scholarships and have an incredible ethos. Initially I tried to book with the other company, but they said they didn’t have enough customers this day and cancelled - yet we saw them on the river and they seemed less skilled than our guides.

I also need to thank the owner Roy for his incredible support after I tripped over on land (I’m so clumsy and should’ve stayed in the water). He went above and beyond to look after me, including driving me to the hospital, staying to translate throughout doctor consultation and X-rays, and then taking me the one and a half hour drive back to my hotel.

If you are on the fence you should absolutely book with this company - I cannot recommend the experience or the people enough. They are kind hearted, caring and will keep you safe and looked after no matter what.

I had a great time. I've done white water rafting before in Bali (class 2 and 3). This one was a bit more exciting. There were a couple of good drops, especially the last one. I would recommend it!
