My daughter and I did the full day class, after a visit to the local market to learn how to get the best ingredients, we arrived at the academy and all the staff were very friendly and helpful, Sai was our teacher for the day and we both quickly learnt that less is more in relation to ingredients and spices, the academy is a balcony style kitchen and is very clean and well equipped, with a open beer/wine/soft drink fridge on the honour system paid for at the end of the class, it was great to have a cold beer while cooking on the balcony enjoying the breeze, we prepared all the ingredients for 4 seperate dishes of our choosing, then cooked and enjoyed the fruits of our labour, the second half of the day was very similar after a visit to a local waterfall that is quite overrated with a million stairs or so it seemed. Overall it was a good day and a great learning experience with very friendly and knowledgeable instructors, Cheers.

Incredible food. Long day though. I would recommend the half day as you have lots of food to eat. We had plenty of doggie bag treats. Also where we thought we were making curry, it was a dish with that curry. At the end they tried to charge us for transportation. I had to tell them it was paid for. Other than that it was good.

An amazing day at the Phuket Thai...

An amazing day at the Phuket Thai Cooking Academy. For the all day class, each person cooked different dishes each. We started the morning at the market great tips on picking out different vegetables and spices for various flavor combinations. Next, to the Academy where we each took our stations, grabbed woks and cooked. Each of us cooked our first five dishes under great supervision, sat down to enjoy the works of our labor family style, then cooked the remaining five dishes and enjoyed those afterwards as well. Before coming to Phuket, I really enjoyed Thai food now, I am in love. It was a wonderful learning experience and picked up so many tips. I had difficulty making my pad Thai, but I will not be deterred. Can't wait to try it again once I return back to the states.

We booked the full day tour but due to miscommunications the tour operator did not come to get us. When we phoned it was too late to do the morning class so they offered a half day which we took. Nok is really a great teacher and we had a great time with the other couple who cooked with us. We ate our own cooking and really liked the Thai food.

Absolutely fantastic day. We attended a full day class on 2nd Feb with Nok our host. It was really fun and very educational. On our return home to the UK, we've already attempted our first massaman curry and it was delicious. Visit the Phuket Thai Cooking Academy on facebook and take a peak at their recent classes. The setting high up in the hills is breath taking. The full day was quite long but well worth it and we visited the nearby Kathu waterfalls as a break in the middle of the day. In terms of the viator description, 'light refreshments' is in the form of Thai tea which I found a bit strong however soft drinks and wine/ beer are available to purchase at reasonable prices.

The chef King is such a sweat heart and so knowledgeable. The all day class is a little much in the heat for us. I highly recommend the class and the food was great.
