Best solo day trip
I had the best time- it was a really last minute plan but the best tour ever- Netty and Mod are really great tour guides and the whole experience was lovely. We were given enough time at each spot and the stops are really beautiful. Free beverages and water is a great advantage and the lunch is delicious! I honesty have no negative comments it was lovely and the hotel transfer was great and smooth.

Highlight of my Phuket trip!!
We booked the 'Lazy Phi Phi and Khai Waterslide tour by Speed Catamaran' one day prior to the tour somewhat hesitantly because there were only two reviews on Viator at the time (though both were positive). We are SO glad we took the chance because this ended up being one of the best excursions of our trip.
From start to finish, the entire experience was incredibly organized, smooth, and thoughtfully executed. Hotel pickup was on time, the catamaran was clean, and the staff truly went above and beyond to care for everyone throughout the day. You could tell they genuinely cared about their guests and wanted everyone to have an amazing experience.
They were fully prepared with endless water and soft drinks, and even had bags, oils, and tiger balm ready for anyone feeling seasick. The water was quite rough while traveling between islands (obviously outside of their control), but the crew did everything they could to help guests feel comfortable.
We visited several beautiful islands, but snorkeling was by far the highlight for us. I am not a strong swimmer, and the guides were so patient, attentive, and encouraging in making sure I still had a wonderful snorkeling experience and got to fully enjoy the beauty of the water. They were also incredibly proactive about helping guests get great photos and memorable shots throughout the day.
Lunch was also very good — a buffet served in a beautiful open-air setting with several tasty options. I communicated my seafood allergy ahead of time, and one of the guides (shoutout to Katie!) went out of her way to make sure I had safe food options available, which I really appreciated.
One area for improvement: the seating arrangement on the catamaran allows for a lot of passengers, and at times it did feel cramped. Between personal belongings, life jackets, shoes, snorkeling gear, wet towels, and everything else that accumulates throughout the day, I definitely found myself wishing for more personal space.
That said, this is absolutely a tour I would recommend. It is a long day, but incredibly worth it. Everything felt intentional, professional, and well-structured. Honestly, the team made the experience feel so special that it was hard to believe they do this every single day.
Without question, this was the best snorkeling experience we’ve ever had. The water was beautiful, clear, and perfect for swimming and snorkeling.

Fun in the sun
This was awesome! Our guide, Sexy Goodies, was amazing as were the boat crew! The boat was very clean with enough space for all 20 participants.
Goodies also prepared us well for Maya beach so we knew what to expect.
Our guide took photos/videos with our phones for us when we were jumping in the water.
Also, there was NO shortage of cold water and snacks! We had been offered cold water continuously and enjoyed some fresh fruit between stops! I would definitely recommend this tour!

Overall great trip with exception of cold food served for lunch at Phi Phi Hotel. Did this trip before Covid and the food served was cold there too. My only complaint really.

Once in a lifetime experience!!
This experience was incredible! We had GG as our tour guide and let me tell you, we were constantly laughing and having a blast. We loved the entire crew, with their snacks and cleanliness of the boat! We got to see so much more than we expected and it was stunning! Started off with some rain in the morning, but the sun came out and showed us the turquoise waters. Absolutely would go again!

Spectacular scenery!
The scenery was spectacular! We paid extra for the long boat at the lagoon and the views were breathtaking!
This excursion was very well organized. The three stops were unique and beautiful. Lunch was really good too. You could choose from Indian and Thai food, and had vegetarian options. Highly recommend.

Great day out to some amazing picturesque places
Was a good tour and well managed. The stop for lunch was nice and got to see some amazing sights and get some really good photos. Staff onboard the boat were fantastic and made the day even better. Only thing that I’ve marked it down for is the 2/2.5 hour van trip each way that isn’t very clear when you book.
People Also Ask
Is Maya Bay still closed?
No, Maya Bay is not still closed to tourists—it reopened in January 2022. It was closed between 2018 and 2022 to let the ecosystem recover from the effects of overtourism, and it’s still intermittently closed for shorter periods, either for safety or environmental reasons. The number of daily visitors is capped, and swimming isn’t allowed in the bay.
Is Maya Bay worth it?
Yes, Maya Bay is very beautiful and worth visiting. However, if you don’t like crowds and want to swim, you may prefer other nearby destinations. Swimming isn’t allowed in Maya Bay, but is at many other beaches, including those on Ko Lao Liang, Ko Lao La Ding, and Koh Lanta.
Is Maya Bay included in a Phi Phi Islands tour?
Yes, most tours of the Phi Phi Islands include Maya Bay. Other common Phi Phi Islands tours destinations include Bamboo Island, Ko Tup, Monkey Beach, Pileh Lagoon, and Chicken Island. Tours may not stop at Maya Bay if closed, but in such cases, they often sail past so you can take a look.
Why can’t you swim in Maya Bay?
You can no longer swim at Maya Bay to protect the coral and the local shark population. These were seriously damaged by overtourism, leading to Maya Bay’s closure between 2018 and 2022. The ecosystem is recovering, and the water is much cleaner than it was, so the Thai authorities want this to continue.
How much is the entrance fee for Maya Bay?
The entry fee to Maya Bay is 400 baht (about US$11) for adults and 200 baht for kids. This is a fee for the Phi Phil National Park. However, this is usually included in the price of tours to Maya Bay, so you don’t need to pay extra. Be careful of scammers who might try to get you to pay twice.
Are there toilets at Maya Bay?
Yes, there are toilets at Maya Bay. They are further behind the beach than the drink and snack shack. However, they’re not in a great state, so avoid using them unless you have to. There are also toilets at Bamboo Island, where many Phi Phi Islands tours also stop.
