Nathalie R, Jun 2016
I was very disappointed with the scope of this tour. I had been expecting to be led to the nirvana of haute couture discount shopping - this being Paris after all. Instead we were shown to the sort of second hand stores I find all over back home and the selection was pretty much middle tier and pedestrian. I found a Diane Von Furstenberg blouse I had given away in 2007. Why others have found this tour satisfying is a mystery? Sure the guides are probably all great to chitchat with not easy to find natives that do this in Paris but I came for the shopping. While the merchandise was described as returns and next to new, the scuffed soles and pilled sweaters indicated otherwise. The area we traversed was very hemmed in - all around the Bonne Marche only. This reminds me - we were promised a discount coupon each to the Bonne Marche and a map of the area highlighting the shops if we wanted to return. None of these things materialized. Our guide was a charming gal - very intelligent and easy to get along with. But I resented her pushing worn out merchandise for me to try on as if I didn't know how to dress myself. Trust me - I know how to shop. One store did fit the bill as it had a few dusty Chanel bags and loads of Hermes scarves and I felt compelled to buy a scarf just to feel like the money invested in the tour had been worth it. Americans have become very savvy about resale shopping and this market has been exploding stateside. In Paris, I truly expected to have an in at Les 3 Marches de Catherine B and have my head spinning at the sight of mounds of Birkins and Chanel chains. DIdn't happen. I saw much more of that at Les Puces - which was my other tour and was much more successful! So - an expensive tour with not much more to offer than walking around a few blocks and stopping at stores that we wouldn't otherwise or at those we could find ourselves...no thank you!

I hesitate to even give this tour a star. The guide took us to one couture shop, then spent the majority of the rest of the time guiding us through the Au Bon Marche , which is essentially a large department store. I complained to viator and got a nasty response from the tour company. They were defensive and blamed the tour being something other than what it should on us. It was disappointing Viator took no responsibility for hiring this tour company.

I enjoyed this tour! Sandra took us to a less crowded department store and much safer! Loved the experience; however, I wish we had gone to less consignment stores. She had amazing ideas for gifts to bring home too!

We didn't get any kind of shopping book from the lady. A bit expensive for what we got. Basically took us to consignment and old stock high end stores. Girl was interesting but bale was more like 75.00 a person

What a treat! In general I am not one that enjoys the shopping experience very much however, the guide was A+ and the selection and prices were fantastic. The next time I return to Paris I will sign up for the tour again earlier in the trip and purchase luggage in addition to a new wardrobe.

This tour was one of the highlights of our trip! We were spoiled in that we had our guide exclusively to ourselves and she catered the tour to our interests. Starting off at Au Bon Marche our guide provided us with an overview of current trends before taking us to the various shops. We were able to find jackets, bags, jewellery, knitwear, toys and housewares at significantly reduced prices. Additionally, we were able to chat at length and received insights into French culture and life. This tour was worth every cent!

The tour guide was so very nice, but this excursion was not what we thought it would be. Really, we had someone tagging along with us. The guide was a person that was employed in the fashion industry, yet her clothes were old, weathered and out of date. With that said, I really liked her. She had wonderful enthusiasm and was so very kind. We thought we were going to a shopping district that would be discount designer clothing etc. Instead the guide walked you up/down streets of regular shops, pointed out that items were on sale because of end of season, and encourage you to try on clothes., yet other people on the 'tour' might be waiting to move on - it was awkward.

The worse experience I ever had. The guide took us to some back street and very small shops with very little used merchandise which seem to have been used for at least four to five years. Nothing was like the description of this tour. I would never recommend this to any of my friend. The time and money spent was totally wasted.

Sandra was great fun and very knowledgeable about the fashions and the designers plus she personalized her recommendations for each tour member. I was a most enjoyable tour; highly recommended!

Sorry, you don't have to share with visitors to your web site, but this was awful...guide shopped more than we did. We dressed more for the occasion than she did. Started late, and she ran us through the Bon Marche, which we were capable of examining on our own. I had trouble confirming the appointment. I left several voice mails and she finally called back the day before. We were in Paris ten days and this was the low point. Also, in rereading the paperwork, I realized we were supposed to receive a map, but we didnt. Very disappointing! I don't know who got the money, but it wasn't worth it.

Karina, Jul 2011
Do not book this tour! There was no discount couture. In the first half and hour we went across the road from the meeting place to Bon Marche department store to shop then to a jeans shop and then Converse. It is a misleading and waste of money and time tour. It reads so well on the tour description but delivers none of it. Everyone on the tour left the tour disgusted and disappointed. I have since contacted Viator and the tour operator in Paris and to complain. Viator doesn't have a complaints email address and the tour operator in Paris is only an answering machine. Viator should investigate these tours before offering them to the public. I have eventually received a response from Viator but they now need to deal with the tour operator. What a sham and a waste of my $149. I repeat - do not book this tour.

VLStraveler, Jun 2011
The cost of this trip was too expensive for what it actually was. We visited 1 large department store and 2 resale shops. We attempted to visit 2 other shops but they were closed. We learned more from other participants on the tour than the guide about other resale shops in Paris. Would suggest the guide provide a list of shops that we could visit on our own after the tour to provide more benefit for the cost.

Nice, but not outstanding. The guide was helpful and visiting the perfume shops were nice, especially if you don't speak French, but the shops were not too much to my age, she was more suitable for a younger person. Still she was very helpful.

This tour is worth doing if you like value for money. You visit a vintage shop which has great jewellery. Visited two shoe designer shops and very good value for money. As there were three ladies including myself from Australia we all had purchased. Just do it. Tour guide asks what your are looking for so tell her or you will miss out.

My daughter and I had a lovely time. It was more than we expected and our tour guide, Emmanuele was very friendly. It was an informative tour informing us of the latest fashions. We visited numerous fashion designer shops and our guide kept within our budget for purchasing items. The tour lasted for more than 2 hours, but time flew by. My daughter tried on so many clothes, styles which she thought she would never try on. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we never felt pressured that we have to purchase anything. In fact we did, and my daughters friends were impressed with her dress. The tour was excellent and I would highly recommend it. Thank you Emmanuelle for making our time in Paris GREAT.

The tour guide was good but I was disappointed that we didnt receive the promised "exclusive map of Paris best kept shopping secrets for your independent shopping". I would have liked to have visited more shops with shorter queues.

Linda A, Jun 2010
This trip is highly recomended, however, we started a little late and ended a little early. Even the full 3 hours would have rushed things. This activity requires a bit more time. This store, Comptoir des Cotonniers, overcharged me considerably. It is also my fault for not carefully checking the receipt. Could have been an oversight on their part, or not. Emmanuelle brought us to stores within our budget range, explained recent fashion trends, and helped us choose items. I would do this again.
