What To Expect

Take a break from the sightseeing, and expand your mind, with a French language class at the famous Café de Flore in Paris' Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighborhood. This area has been known for its cafes since the 17th century, and the Café de Flore itself has hosted the likes of Picasso, Sartre, and Simone de Beauvoir.

This famous cafe is the perfect setting for a French language class with a qualified English-speaking instructor. Classes are limited to no more than five people for the best learning experience.

Your class includes a coffee or soft drink at the cafe, plus French instruction and discussion, after which you'll go on a short walking tour of Saint-Germain-des-Prés with your teacher. The neighborhood has long been a haunt of writers, artists, and philosophers.

During the tour, try out your new French language skills and ask for other tips to serve you through the rest of your stay in Paris. The experience finishes back at the original meeting place.

Waste of time

Luis was an hour late and after he arrived did not have a plan on what material to cover. We felt it was a waste of time and money. We Ave gotten more out of 15 on Duolingo Luis was personable and very apologetic about being so late but Keith and I both felt he needs to have a lesson plan.

Getting to know Paris’ language and history

This experience was one of the highlights of my 8 day stay in Paris. I traveled with my niece, Danielle and was expecting to meet a guide and go to a cafe and practice French. What we got was more enjoyable and valuable. Not only did we go to a cafe and had coffee and spoke some French, our guide Louis told us the history of Paris, its artists and philosophers and gave my niece and I a tour of the Latin Quarter churches in the area. The history of Descartes skull and its journey from Sweden to France was interesting. Learning Paris’ history gave me a much better appreciation of Paris. I throughly enjoyed this experience and thank Louis and Viator for such a wonderful experience. Well worth the money spent. Merci , 😊 Vivian Infantino

Monee was our teacher. She was enthusiastic, friendly , embracing and put us at ease immediately. We were a party of 4 with very little knowledge of French. As we drank coffee with Monee, we learned some basic conversational language . It was a very fun morning . We had such a wonderful time with her, we hated to part. Monee and the program get an A++++++++++++++++

Teacher No Showed

No teacher or guide showed up to fill our reservation/ appointment. We did not get to have a lesson or walking tour. The restaurant even helped us look for someone. No one answered out chat and the phone number cut off when we tried to call. We had to request a refund. Now we have to wait a week to see if they provide the refund.

Elizabeth was a great instructor! My teenage daughter and I learned an amazing amount of information about the French language and also about the Saint Germain des Pres area of Paris. This class started our trip off great and we were able to use what we learned to communicate better during the rest of the trip. Highly recommend this class to others!
