What To Expect

Start your dolphin watching experience with pickup from your Muscat hotel in the mid-afternoon. Hop inside your comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle, and travel to the departure pier just south of the city.

Then, step aboard your cruise boat, and admire Oman’s rugged coast as you sail out to sea. Find a spot on deck and keep watch for the dolphins that frequent the local waters. Spinner, bottlenose, and common dolphins all visit the area, as do other mammals like humpback whales, sperm whales, blue whales, and more.

Keep your camera ready, and with luck, catch sight of pods of dolphins or even a whale. If you wish, chat to the marine specialist on board, who can share information about the local sea life.

Dolphin sightings are not guaranteed, so if you don’t see any, simply relax and enjoy the cruise. Soak in the sea breezes, sail by picturesque bays, watch for seabirds, and capture photos of the spectacular backdrop of Oman’s jagged mountains and bays.
