A misadventure, but dolphins made up for the absenteeism of the turtles

It was one of the most anticipated tour were waiting for. However, Daimaniyat islands wants us back i think. Unfortunately there was an algae formation due to which the water was not clear and hence the turtles decided to give it a skip. However, that was covered up by the dolphins who decided to give us a show. We were entertained thoroughly. Okay for real reviews- except the turtles and if you are lucky the dolphins- there’s not much that the trip has to offer. So be prepared mentally. The 1.5 hour ride to the island is beautiful. However, you will be disappointed in case you are expecting an island hopping or shacks or places to chill. This more of the journey and the swim with the turtles. Expect anything like Thailand or Maldives and you will be severely disappointed. But overall it was good considering the natural beauty Oman has to offer. The tour operator Sidab Group was good and professional. The lunch pack offers vegetarian food. We definitely want to come back for the turtles. The 4 rating is for the tour operator since they are very polite, professional and friendly.

We feel lucky we found this tour for our trip to Daymaniyat Islands. We were looking for more than just being transported to the snorkeling spot, and this tour truly delivered on our expectations. On this beautiful day we saw many turtles and diverse fish while snorkeling and we enjoyed a lunch picknick at a pristine beach. The captain did amazing as he navigated us around the islands: we did not only stop at one rather crowded place with all the other tours but kept looking and stopped for snorkeling with turtles at a more remote spot. Another highlight was the dolphins we saw from close during the boat ride.

Whale Sharks!

We saw two Whale Sharks which was amazing and about 8 turtles and lots of fish! A really great experience and just what we wanted. There was plenty of room in the shade on the boat and plenty of food and drink. The only down side was getting back on board the steps were really small and slippery but the boat driver (sorry I’m rubbish with names) was a star at pulling us on! Thank you :)

Hotel pickup on time, comfortable boat, captain and crew great, lunchbox delicious and plenty. Dolphins seen. Snorkeling on the reef. Turtle and octopus seen. Many other fish, of course. Stay on the beach. Possibility to take a nice walk.

Las islas son una maravilla. Pasan por ti a tu hotel si lo pides. Te llevan a la Marina Bandar Al Rowdha. Te llevan una hora en para ver los delfines. Después una hora hasta llegar a las Islas Daymaniyat. Hacen dos paradas en dos Islas, Jabal Al Kabir y a Qasmah. El almuerzo tipo picknick está bien (fruta, sandwich, hummus, ensalada, pastelito y bebidas). Pude ver muchas tortugas, hasta tocarlas, también muchas variedades de peces de colores. El agua es cristalina, limpia, es una maravilla que no debes perder. El tour dura unas 5 horas. Muy buen tour!
