It is not a stroll in the park, it involved some scrambling and climbing, I was glad I brought some gloves. But the climb was fun, the views incredible, and the raoelling scary exciting. Omar was a great guide.

THE MOST AMAZING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE OMG! I (22 yo active female) did this with my brother (24 yo active male) and we only found the walk down to be challenging bc of the steep path with loose rock, everything else (climbing up, rappelling, and such) you could honestly learn on the spot. There were way older active adults (30-50 y.o.) with us who also did great! The views were breathtaking, the journey was beautiful, and everyone was so kind and I felt safe the whole time. Dont think twice and buy that ticket! (unless ur scared of heights lol). Some advice: wear shoes with grip (gym shoes or hiking boots) and pack lots of snacks and water, you'll get hungry!

You get to see beautiful mountains and hiking is a slight challenge especially at the very end but definitely worth it.

Great experience with great guides! the initial hike to the first view point is tough so best to have a moderate fitness level, after that the traversing and climbing of the ridge to the peak is manageable if you have done any form of wall/rock climbing before. The rappelling was an amazing experience getting to view the entire valley while suspended midair hundreds of feet above the ground.

Loved this hike! Forget what you've heard about it being super tough – I found it pretty easy physically, especially since we lucked out with cooler weather on our 3-mile journey.
Yes, be prepared for some challenging bits, but this is totally doable. If you can run a 5k, aren't sick or hungover (a couple folks in our group had to leave early), and come geared up, you'll crush it. I wore hiking boots, pants, a dry-fit shirt, had a backpack with 3L of water (didn't even need my snack!), and skipped gloves because my hands are tough enough without them
This was my first time doing via ferrata and rappelling, and both were exhilarating and amazing experiences. Huge shoutout to Ramses and Cedric – they were the best guides ever, and excellent teachers who spoke both Spanish and English, making sure everyone could understand everything!

Great tour with fantastic views. Quite a bit more challenging than expected, but fortunately my tour partner and I were fit and up for the challenge. Instructors were experienced and accommodating, however were significantly younger than us and set a pretty aggressive pace. We kept up and finished the actually hike etc in just over 4 hrs not including the transportation there and back. Overall a great adrenaline experience in some aggressive terrain with amazing views. Highly recommend, especially for those looking for a challenge, and not afraid of heights! Looking forward to getting the pictures and videos.

If you’re considering this hike, take the warnings seriously—this is NOT an activity for beginners. As a very fit couple in our mid-30s, we found the climb to Nido de los Aguiluchos incredibly challenging. You’ll need solid strength, endurance, mobility, and reflexes to navigate the steep inclines, loose rocks, and rappelling sections. The heights and perches are intense, and there are moments where you’ll find yourself clinging to the mountain.
That said, the early morning start was so worth it. Watching the sunrise from the summit was absolutely breathtaking, one of those moments that makes all the effort feel insignificant. The guides were fantastic—our group was six people with three guides, and we felt safe the entire time. They were bilingual, which was especially helpful for my partner, who doesn’t speak Spanish.
A few practical notes: bring plenty of water and a snack because it’s a long trek. And be prepared to go to the bathroom in nature—there are no facilities along the way.
If you’re up for the challenge, this is an unforgettable experience. Just make sure you’re ready for a real extreme adventure!

It was an unexpected and an amazing adventure. Lots of adrenaline and more excitement than we ever imagined. We thought we were going on a fun hike and instead ended up with a thrilling time.

Today's mountain climbing excursion was both challenging and incredibly rewarding. The guides were attentive and helpful, making the journey a lot smoother. The breathtaking views of Monterrey made every step worth it. A truly memorable experience that I would highly recommend to any adventure seeker. Si

Best part was that I survived, unbelievable views! Extremely high and narrow climbs, great rappels. Great guides.

Excellent guided hike. Guides were very helpful in making me feel comfortable as we got ready to rappel.
Definately recommend.

The views were breathtaking, and I appreciated having to work hard for them. The guides were very helpful (and serious about safety!). Those of us on my tour were pretty much in agreement that we didn’t want to know what qualifies as “good fitness” since this was rated “intermediate.” The actual distance is short, but it’s grueling; our group was out there from ~6 to ~12:30, with our longest rest breaks while we waited for our turn to rappel on the way down. The route included skree skiing, scrambling, scaling rocks while attached to a safety cable that would keep you from going straight down a cliff if you fell, etc. I’m a regular half-marathoner (not fast, but steady), and my legs are trashed. I’m not scared of heights, but the starts of the first two rappels still gave me the flutters. It’s hard work to do this tour, but it’s absolutely worth it. The views are mind boggling and the sense of satisfaction at the end is hard to describe. Do this tour, but give yourself an easy day on either side of it.

Great experience and adventures. I would recommend this tour to everyone. Definitely need more than moderate fit person 😁. Just waiting on the other photos that our kind and awesome guide took for us during the tour!

My guide, Luiz, was amazing. The hike/rock climbing was strenuous but once you see the view!!! Breathtaking!! You forget how hard it was to get there. My first time repelling and I loved it.

It’s a challenging hike but so rewarding to see the beautiful views of Hausteca and of Monterrey. Tony and Adán were great guides making sure first timers were informed of what steps to do and take, making sure everyone was comfortable. It was a great amazing experience. Thank you and may God Bless all the guides.

Incredible experience highly recommend! Would bring plenty of water and light gloves too! But over all would do it again

I didn’t know what I signed up for and it’s better not to know. The hike was great and the views were extraordinary. Rappels got really scary but I am glad I did this. Not for the faint hearted though! Once you get through the first one the only way is through the other ones haha. Best booking directly with Gaia as they offer GoPro etc

Although this was an incredible experience, it is not for all levels! Must have hiking boots, biking gloves, light back pack for water and a snack. This isn’t a regular hike as there are no safety precautions in place like in the USA. Half the time you’re climbing up very loose gravel and coming back down the same way; was very nerve wrecking with the downfall. This is clearly I park issue not the tour guide but I feel like the description doesn’t prepare you for what’s in store on the journey to the top or on the way down. The way up is the way down. Once up top the views are incredible!

This was a bit more challenging than anticipated. The initial walk and scramble was challenging, but way fun. The rock climbing had me feeling like a kid again. Repelling for the first time was exhilarating. I never felt like I was in danger, but you do have to be careful. Luis and Denise were great guides and i will definitely do this again. If you have the chance to do this and the stamina to keep a decent pace up a steep incline, do it. Come prepared - hiking shoes, sunscreen, sun glasses, snacks, a hat to wear under the helmet and most importantly BRING WATER. Someone on our excursion didn't have any and almost passed out by the end.

This was my absolute favorite adventure I booked while in Monterrey! Going solo and not speaking Spanish I was a bit nervous, but it was not a problem. I didn’t want to spoil the trip, so I didn’t look at any photos prior. It was more incredible than I have imagined it would be. I haven’t climbed in 10yrs, and this trip made me want to take up climbing again! Thank you Rodriguez and Denise for the hospitality and e adventure. This trip starts early, but it was worth it to see the sunrise come up.
Henry_V, Mar 2022
Like most of the hikes in Monterrey, this was a punishing one, but rappelling down with the canyon behind us really made it worth it. Cedric and Denise were great guides. Definitely a good time. Recommend bringing hiking sticks if you've got em
Lyne_C, Mar 2022
As an experienced hiker I would say the the hike was relatively hard, lots of scramble rocks and dangerous passages. At it was very scary, not sure if we’re happy we did it or happy to be alive. All in all I would recommend it, but keep in mind it is challenging. DONT FORGET TO BRING GLOVES!
PS: Thank you Denise for looking out for us!

First, the agent Juvy B was inpompentent. Sold me a tour that was not happening at the booked time. They forced me on another tour which was a disaster.
Never ever will I use this site again.

Amazing experience, morning hike, saw the best views of Monterrey! Very professional tour guide! Great experience 👍

Die Aussicht auf die umliegende Berge und Grossstadt war traumhaft. Schon deswegen lohnt sich die Tour. Mit dem ausgesetzten Weg und dem abseilen ist die Tour zudem sehr abwechslungsreich!
