Chaira gave us a very good tour despite the pouring rain! Throughout the tour she shared a lot of information about Messinas history. We saw the Cathedral, Town Square with Astological clock and animated figures strike noon, a working hand carved puppet business and a family bakery to eat a delicious Cannoli….highly recommend this tour!

Although it was pouring rain, our guide made the best of it. We really enjoyed being provided with an audio/earphones making it easier to hear the information. We also enjoyed tasting the cannolo. Chiara was very professional.

Well thought out plan to see the city, except for the very end. The company had two groups out at the same time and they both ended at the same exact spot, which created a little mayhem. But overall it was an enjoyable time, Ciara knew her city well.

The tour was interesting but to be honest there is not a lot to see (at least of interest in us) in Messina. We did enjoy the noon show of the cathedral bell tower. The guide did a good job with what she had to work with. The cannoli's at the end were delicious. Unfortunately at end of tour most shops and businesses closed for a few hours in the afternoon, so we just returned to the ship.

A very interesting tour but the tour guide needs to make certain their microphone is always close to their mouth because when they turn their head you lose the sound of their voice

First, kudos to our guide who found us while we were wandering around outside the port! Then thanks to her for running an interesting and well organised tour. We covered some very interesting sites and learned so much in the two and a half hours that we got more than our money's worth. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend to fellow travellers.

Great guide who was knowledgeable and friendly. Learned so much about the city and traditions. The puppet theater was a bit odd, but the host was friendly, the cannoli was outstanding-best one I had in Europe!

Messina’s cathedral, astrological clock, and puppet museum are highlights of a tour of Old Town, especially with a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide like Chiara. She provided interesting insights, and the cannolis at the end were amazing!

The tour started out ok but then went in to WAY more historical detail than I needed. Luckily, we got a break from all the facts at noon to watch the bell tower performance. I’m glad I saw some of the statues we saw but a quick walk by would’ve sufficed, I didn’t need a 10 minute lecture on each one.

Get a tour around the main business area near the port. Good if you want something short and still want to see something quick. Ends with a sweet treat. For a cheaper option, take a hop on hop off bus; this was at least given by a local.

Our tour with Katia was excellent! She was very knowledgeable and she shared fascinating historical knowledge with us throughout the tour. We ended our tour with a stop at a delicious gelato place where they also serve great cannolis. Highly recommend!

The meeting instructions could be clearer. Our tour guide was not easy to understand. Unfortunately her screechy high pitch voice was also really hard on the ears. We left the tour half way through.

Excellent walking of Messina with a fantastic guide. We only booked this tour the day before arriving in Messina at the cruise port. Our previously booked shore excursion was cancelled by our cruise ship leaving us with no booked tour. The highlight of the tour for us really was viewing the Bell Tower at 12 midday when all the figurine move.

Our guide. Katia, was very knowledgeable, comprehensive, and passionate. She was attentive to the little details like ensuring she covered her mouth so we could hear her above the street noise and accommodating two of the group who had mobility challenges. You could tell she very much enjoyed her job! The puppet museum was a definite highlight of the tour.

Our tour guide Chiara was easy to spot right next to the exit gate and met us with a lovely smile. She used headsets and a microphone so we can all hear which is very good and makes listening far easier.
Tour length at 2 and a half hours was just right.

Slightly disappointed with this tour. Lots of walking with few stops for rest. Guide could have covered more history of Missina before the earthquake. Most of the sites she pointed out were of little historical significance. However, the stop at Catheral Square was very interesting, and the explanations given were very interesting.

Our guide Chiara too her job very seriously. The tour had interesting elements like the puppet museum and it was timed perfectly to see the clock go off at noon. Plus, we got to try yummy cannolos at the end of the tour! She used audio devices so that we could hear easily.
