Melbourne cricket ground tour is a tour that you must do
The volunteer guide Derry who took us through was very knowledgeable but softly spoken. He was passionate about the history & shared interesting facts. Due to the AFL finals coming up the sound check was taking place which made it tricky to hear at times. Highly recommend this tour which included the Australian Sports Museum as well. There’s no time limit on wandering through the museum & there is an interactive kids area. Lots of statues in the grounds to look at too. Having access to the cloakroom was great for storing our bags as we headed to the airport straight after.
Enjoyed every minute of it. So pleased I did it.

Its was a great experience. Only thing I would add is 75 mins was not enough. We thought the trip would be two hours, but we had only 1hour time approx and museum also closed earlier to an event, so we missed quite a lot.
Otherwise it was fund experience.
A very good experience with good access too some interesting areas.
The sports museum was good but no horse racing which is the 3rd biggest industry for employment in the country and no mention of the West Coast Eagles and Brisbane Bears saving the VFL in 1986.
The tour of the MCG is informative and delivered by passionate guides. You go behind the scenes to areas not generally available to the public.
Be prepared for a.bit.of walking, about 3km, involving stairs, elevators and lifts.
The Australian sports museum is packed with displays from all sports and well worth the time.
A must do when in Melbourne to visit this iconic site. Very interesting & informative time spent at the MCG

The MCG tour was just fantastic!! We loved it. The meeting point was confusing as we were instructed to meet at a street address which was on the other side of the building. You need to meet at Gate 3 where all the tours leave from. However, once we found the right place we had the best time. Our tour guide, John, was knowledgeable and passionate about the MCG and kept us amused with stories and interesting facts! The museum was also incredible - the highlight was listening to a hologram of Shane Warne tell stories of his career.

This was great, very cool to see all the things about the MCG in person. Berrie was the BEST tour guide, with so much knowledge and a few good stories along the way. Highly recommend.
Interesting and engaging, plenty to look at. The museum was engaging as well as interesting.
Must do for a sports nut.
Make sure that you allow plenty of time because there is soooo much to see and do. Avoid going close to lunch times, because there is a cafe, but the tour doesn't stop for you to snack. younger children tend to get a little bored with the tour section of the experience. Guides are real MCC members with a great knowledge and passion for their role.
For a cost of $50 per person. It was excessive international experiences that are far more impressive cost is much more comparable. Yes the MCG is impressive but $100 for a couple and what was offered was pretty ordinary. I think you could do far far better and no, we would not recommend it.
The guide was very dry and not engaging. Didn’t take into consideration our accessibility needs. Ended up missing what we did see of the tour as we weren’t able to access areas.
Over priced for what is on offer.
2 of the 3 of us had been 20+ years ago but still well worth the time to explore the whole experience: MCG, Aus Sports Museum, Warnie. Didn’t know about some of the interactive parts of the tour before undertaking but they were great fun.
my grandsons said it was the best part of our trip to Melbourne, loved it, the tour guide was very knowledgeable on the MCG and made the tour more enjoyable, would definitely go again
Time limited so keep up and take photos when guide explaining to get the best experience at each site
We arrived on time but your Google directions took us to different gate which was quite far. When we got there, no one was available. We returned back to main entrance and they said your slot of entry group departed. We were extremely tired from lot of waking around the stadium for correct gate and we put all efforts to convince them to add us in the next group.
Finally, They put us in one group where two slots were open. It was lot of walking to find the correct entrance and wasted so much time even though we had confirmed tickets on us.
Kindly, refund us all the money for this inconvenience, I am your regular customer for a long time and this is what not we expected from your service.

Definitely do the mcg tour and the sports museum, had the nostalgic goosebumps all over again since I last stepped on the mcg grond back in 2011

Loved the Shane Warne exhibition- the staff were accommodating to our family. The kids loved the activity area.
Our tour by Volunteer guide Malcolm was a real treat. He is an absolute gentleman with amazing knowledge. If you can you must go to the Shane Warn exhibit. You feel he is talking to you in real life, right in front of you.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, we learnt a lot about cricket and football history.
