Great Walking Tour

Gordon_C, Aug 2026
Beau was a great guide and showed us the true Melbourne. Quirky laneways and grand arcades were part of the tour. The coffee break and the beer at the end of the tour were great ways to relax with the other participants.

Superb Tour “With a Friend”

Toby_M, Aug 2026
John was an amazing guide. He made the tour feel like a stroll through the city with a friend. He gave a ton of details and tips that only the locals would know which made the rest of our trip even better. Pace was good and he really tailored the experience to the interests of our small group (in the rain!!). The only thing I’d do differently is book this sooner in my trip so that I have all the insights during our visit.

It’s great to be taken on a tour by someone who’s so passionate about his home city. Hugo took us on a fabulous walking tour through Melbourne CBD. The coffee, artwork, pieces of history were all really wonderful. I would highly recommend Depot Adventures to anyone. :)

Gloria_R, Jul 2026
You should absolutely take this tour if you want to learn the general layout of Melbourne CBD. It’s fun and educational, meeting new people is always fun, so reach out and say hello to others too. The tour leaders are Melbournians so they know this city.

Girls’ Weekend Highlight

Deb_F, Jun 2026
We had a fantastic time on Hugo’s walking tour of Melbourne. He provided fascinating insights into the city’s laneways, culture, history and hidden gems, bringing Melbourne to life in a fun and engaging way. The two stops for a coffee and a drink were a great addition, giving us a chance to experience Melbourne’s famous café and bar culture. Hugo was knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about the city, making the tour one of the highlights of our visit. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to discover the real Melbourne beyond the usual tourist spots.

Wonderful experience!

Rachel_R, May 2026
We have been to Melbourne plenty of times but have learnt so much about the history of Melbourne and stepped into buildings only seen from the outside, would highly recommend even fir locals!

Less extensive than the title suggests

ckkfv2nzb7, May 2026
The guide was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, pleasant and attentive. Possibility too attentive - at times unable to control the group and to keep us to time. As a result, we have spent a lot of time in the coffee shop (and at each of the stops along the way) and had to cut the last third or so of the tour short. Even as planned, despite the scheduled time and the title the tour covers only a fairly small area (a fifth?) of only one central district (CBD).

Response from Host, Jun 2026

Hi, Hugo here owner of Depot Adventures. Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. Firstly I am so pleased to hear you enjoyed our guide and their enthusiam, knowledge and attentiveness. You are correct that we do our best to try and accomodate everyone's needs and interests on the tour while delivering what we advertise and what guets are expecting. Sometimes we don't get that balance right and it appears on your tour our guide should have done more to manage the group and timings. I'm sorry this affected your enjoyment of the experience. I would love to get some more information from you with what occured on your tour so ensure I can follow up with the team and address your concerns to ensure we are delivering the best experience possible to all our guets. I would also like to offer you a chance to enjoy one of our other expeierences free of charge. Please email me directly at info@depotadventures.com so we can connect further. Kind Regards, Hugo

Nice tour - good choice

This was a great way to spend three hours in Melbourne, a city to which my husband and I had never visited. Our tour guide Ian is, if I recall correctly, a lifelong Melbourne resident and has tons of knowledge about Melbourne that he imparted to us during our time spent with him. Besides being knowledgeable, Ian was affable and easy with whom to spend time. He made the tour both fun and factual. Great way to start off our brief visit to Melbourne!

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Thanks Suzanne! Ian is a great guide and I'm so happy to hear you had a lovely time with him. Thanks for coming on the tour and visiting this city we love so much.

Real Intimate intro to Melbourne

Jacques_S, Apr 2026
The experience was well worth the fee, seeing beautiful out of the normal tourist scenes. A d the tour guide (Deneile?) was very knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining. Ending with a drink (included) at Melville's was the perfect ending.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Thans so much! Deneile is a legend and I'm so glad you enjoyed your time on her tour. :)

Uninspiring

ladybuggirls, Apr 2026
Although we saw CBD…It was a little boring. The guide was pleasant, but her anecdotes were unnecessary. She had good intentions. The delivery of information did not appeal to us. We went for coffee ,and drinks, but learned nothing interesting about why the place was chosen or any story behind it. Sometimes felt like we were walking aimlessly.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Thanks for coming on the tour and taking the time to leave feedback. While we never like to see negative reviews, I do appreciate the opportunity to make our company better. I do want to be transparent with you: Emily is approaching her 100th tour with us and has not received a single negative review across that entire run. That's not something I say to dismiss your experience - everyone's experience is real and valid - but I would love to understand what went wrong on the day, because it's so at odds with the pattern I normally see. If you're open to it, please reach out directly at hello@depotadventures.com. I'd love to hear more and make it right if we can. Thanks, John O'Sullivan Depot Adventures
