great ocean road: autumn version
the “reverse tour” was a great move because on this particular day we were so fortunate to experience “better” weather at the beginning of the tour (throughout the morning). the evening brought weather that has been melbourne’s coldest (since their winter season). but i will say, the great ocean road is beautiful no matter what the weather may bring. tip: if it’s cooler a specific day it’s probably a good idea to bring a jacket. the good thing is that you’re able to leave it on the bus between stops so you’re not having to worry about carrying things. most importantly, our tour guide chris was incredible. it’s such an asset having a host who has life experience and historical knowledge in the region because guests are able to receive a less tourist-y and more of a local experience which is brilliant for interstate and international visitors. he was also welcoming and had great humour. it made the tour comfortable and enjoyable. also a thank you to our guide chris for taking us all to a small town coffee shop called “café la hoot” in winchelsea and a restaurant called “george’s” out at apollo bay. whenever i’m at home or when i travel i always like to support small businesses. honourable mention: great playlist. such a vibe.

Great Adventure
We had a fantastic experience on the Go West Tours Great Ocean Road Classic Day Tour. Our guide, Rheys, made the entire journey memorable with his energy, knowledge, and sense of humor. It’s a long, full-day trip, but the pacing was well thought out with plenty of stops to stretch your legs and take in the scenery. The coastal views were stunning, and the transition into the rainforest added a completely different, lush atmosphere to the day. Along the way, we spotted a variety of native birds and even a koala, which was a real highlight. Walking along the beach and through the rainforest gave us a chance to truly experience the landscape up close. Rheys kept things entertaining throughout—his best Crocodile Dundee impression while attempting to call up some kangaroos was a fun touch, even if they had already turned in for the evening. His enthusiasm and effort didn’t go unnoticed. Overall, this is a fast-paced but incredibly rewarding tour that covers a lot of ground and showcases some of Australia’s most beautiful natural sights. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to see the Great Ocean Road in a single, well-organized day. Life is a Beach Fran

This was a great way to...
This was a great way to spend three hours in Melbourne, a city to which my husband and I had never visited. Our tour guide Ian is, if I recall correctly, a lifelong Melbourne resident and has tons of knowledge about Melbourne that he imparted to us during our time spent with him. Besides being knowledgeable, Ian was affable and easy with whom to spend time. He made the tour both fun and factual. Great way to start off our brief visit to Melbourne!

thanks, Cloe!
Cloe was a excellent tour guide and a fun personto lead our tour. She made sure everyone was able to do the hikes we went on as there were mixed levels of fitness in the group. She was filled with interesting stories about the towns and places we visited as well as the history of the Grampions. We saw some kangaroos in Halls Gap, and did a number of walks in the Grampions Park, the favorite of which was the Geand Canyon walk. Plenty of bio breaks were offered and we found a nice place to lunch in Halls Gap. Be prepared for a long bus ride both coming and going to the park, broken up by a stop halfway to the park.
