Itinerary

Make the most of your stay or cruise port stopover in Mazatlan by booking this small-group tour to Stone Island Beach, where you can choose whichever activities you’d like to do.

You can choose to ride a banana boat, kayak, go horseback riding, or other beach activities on offer. Two activities are included with your ticket.

Access to the unlimited open bar, plus lunch, are also provided with this tour, so you don’t have to spend extra money on food and drinks.

This is a small-group tour, but it’s up to you how you’d like to spend your time on the beach. You can be as adventurous, or as lazy, as you like.

At the end of your tour, you’ll be conveniently taken back to where you were picked up.

Everything was great…transportation to the docks was right on time…a wonderful and knowledgeable driver… at the island the guides were great…delicious lunch…horse and cart ride was excellent… Thank you for a wonderful day!!

You get what you pay for! This was worth every dollar spent! Our family of 9 (6 adults/3 kids) had a great day trip. The food was great, drinks were delicious, staff was fun! Our guide Victor made the day, that much better. He gave us a tour of the city, told us about the history and was so helpful at Stone Island. Zero complaints about anything! The little activities were alot of fun and just enough time to get a little taste of the action. 4 of us did the horse back ride, 8 of us did the banana boat (highly recommend) kids did the boogie boards and the grandparents did the horse carriage. When we arrived they had our table ready for us and secured 8 chairs on the beach under the shade. We all felt very well taken care of and completely comfortable. No one got sick from any of the food or drinks. The people complaining about the trip set their expectations way to high and are clearly coming off the cruise ships with high expectations for luxury. If you dont want a taste of real Mexico, don't go. Would highly recommend going! FYI....Coming from the hotels is going to be a different experience then off the cruises.

All of the people involved in the experience were very very nice and helpful. The primary reason for the three star rating is that in our opinion the lunch was not very good. Also, the complimentary bar was very limited, e.g., one brand of beer poured from a quart bottle into a glass.

Fun! Food was very midiocre. Please do not set expectations high with restroom facilities. Open bar was good, but realize alcohol was watered down. (Anything other than tequila). Guides were wonderful and accomodating. Try the banana boat, it is a blast.

We chose the 15 minute horse back ride through the streets and got to see inside the town. Our 2nd excursion was having a boogie board, was a fun way to enjoy the Pacific waves. The boat ride was enjoyable as well.

I was hoping for a ride on the ocean, and not just a ferry across the port. The lunch was decent, but you need to be aware that they are trying to sell you food and drinks at the restaurant, even though that is included. Everybody expects to be tipped in addition to just your tour guides. It’s not a big deal, but just need to be aware. It was a fun day, and a beach is expensive and amazing.

The beach and transportation (boats and shuttles) are not accessible for disabled people who use a walker. At the time of booking that tour, we were told it's accessible. We had a family of four, only 2 beach chairs with umbrellas were provided since they were out of them.

It was okay. The horse ride was quick, like 15 minutes. Just be careful riding because they don’t tell you how to ride and the people I went with had no experience with horses and nearly fell off! So please be careful. The food was okay and the beach was nice. There’s lots of opportunities to try the food of Mazatlan and enjoy the beach!

Fun beach day

Fun beach experience. Food was good, drinks were great! We rode the banana boat and my daughter rode a horse on the beach. The only downside was that the beach became very busy with locals and “salespeople” later in the day.

Poor communication from tour company on where and when to meet. We found meeting place around 9:00. Told to sit at umbrellas until 9:30. Finally at 10:00 we departed port via van to meet ferry. We missed ferry so had to wait for another. Finally get ferry and another van ride to beach and arrive at 11:30. Three people from our ship were already there and wondered where everyone was. They had been there for couple hours already. Lots of locals trying to sell you something the entire time. The beach and food were ok. Left to come back at 3:00. You could literally swim to ship but the ferry and bus ride back take one hour.

Just okay. If they didn’t offer the two free activities, I would not recommend. The horseback ride and banana boat was nice. The beach was alright. The boat is not a catamaran. Group leader was nice.

The only photo I have! That’s how amazing this excursion is, our bar tending service was so wonderful, the food was great, but the beach was was the BEST part! It was truly a remarkable day, would certainly do this EVERY SINGLE TIME, in fact most of our family and friends preferred this excursion over the over ports! Thank you for providing such an amazing service, soooo much to do and say that simply can’t be contained in one review. JUST BUY IT ALREADY!!!

We all had such a fun day at the beach. The kids loved using the boogie boards and riding the banana boat. The 17 yo rode the horse and said it was ok but not the best experience the 5 yo rode the horse and cart I thought it was ok she got bored and wanted to go back to the beach. The food was 4/10. But the open bar was awesome At the end they did a little tour which was fun to hear about the local sites

Great experience for me, my husband and 12 year old son. The highlight was the banana boat ride! Food was delicious. Open bar was yum. We would have kayaked, but it was too windy. We enjoyed the live music, playing in the sand. We appreciated having a clean and private beach. Transportation to and from our port was great. The staff was awesome!

The beach club was located across a very narrow street from horse stables so we had to contend with the awful smell all day. There were not enough chairs for our group although the workers did get some old broken ones that made do. The workers there were super nice and worked really hard to make our day pleasant. The food was just okay. Over all just a medium experience. If I were to visit again, I would go to the main part of Mazatlán and not stone island

Skip this place and Mazatlan Van Tours - such a ripoff

We booked this during our cruise since the Disney options we were interested in were all booked up. The description on Viator looked fun. However we ran into multiple inconsistencies from what was expected and what occurred. First according to the description, there was supposed to include a tour of Old Mazatlan and time to see the cliff divers. That did NOT happen. When we asked the staff they said they didn’t know anything about that. Second, the description said horseback riding was available on the beach for all ages, my 9 year old niece had been very excited to ride!!! But when we got there we were told that we could only ride on the little road and that only adults could ride. We ended up having to pay a vendor walking a horse along the beach to let the kids ride on the beach. Third, there were supposed to be kayaks available to use as one of the activities besides the horses and banana boat ride to be able to use in the bay. There were none available. And finally lunch was included for everyone, however it was barely edible and such a small amount was given. The “beef burrito” was a small tortilla with about a tablespoon of beef and rice wrapped up together. It was served with a little bit of rice and beans and salsa. Asking for chips was extra, which we had to do for the kids who thought the food was terrible. They just wanted you to get drunk, which with a group of a few families there from cruises and on vacation was not the vibe of the day. The boat ride to get there also does not have life jackets for children, and they told everyone just to hold on to it, it wasn’t a big deal. Most of the life jackets didn’t even buckle properly. All in all the kids had fun at the beach, but the adults didn’t think it was worth it. There were a lot of similar places along the beach on Stone Island, if this is the area you want to go, definitely use a different vendor than Mazatlan Van Tours because this place will not live up to expectations. When I contacted Viator I was able to get a partial refund for the Old Mazatlan Tour and cliff divers not being provided, but my sister who booked separately also complained. She received a full refund because Mazatlan Van tours never even responded to the Viator investigation. I’m not impressed with how Viator handled the inconsistency here either and will not be booking tours with them anymore. Viator clearly doesn’t vet their vendors or tour providers very well.
