The class was very informative and we made some authentic dishes, we got to help with the prep work. Learned about different spices and how to use them. Paola is very knowledge and the class with the other participants was very fun. We got copies of the recipes as well. Well worth supporting a local business woman who purchases through the local market.

Wonderful experience with Paola. She shared the cultural diversity of Mexico and the impact on food. The tacos were excellent. It was especially fun making corn tortillas. We had a little hiccup finding Paola's building but she was there to greet us. Will do again!

The location is in a building and is not clearly marked. Paola is very knowledgeable, explained the process well, answered questions and included the participants in all areas from preparation to the enjoyment of the finished meal. Enjoyed and recommended!

We did the Gems of Mexico cooking class on 12/22 and it was the highlight of our vacation. Paola taught us so much not only about how to prepare the meals but also about where the ingredients come from and how they are produced. I never know how many ways a tortilla can be used and how difficult it is to produce real vanilla. Next time we are in Mazatlan, we'll definitely pick another class from Tomatl.

We experienced tacos that we had never had before, we made tortillas, we prepared all the ingredients before we started cooking. It was a small group, just two couples. It felt like going to a friend's house for a dinner party. We loved it and will do another class next time we are in Mazatlan.

This class was an absolute delight from start to finish! Under the expert guidance of our instructor, Paola, we learned the art of making perfect tortillas and also mastered four taco recipes from different regions of Mexico. Who knew huitlacoche could be so delicious? The hands-on experience, coupled with the cultural insights shared throughout the class, made for an unforgettable time. I left feeling inspired and empowered to recreate these dishes in my own kitchen.

Our time with Paola, in her home, was amazing, so friendly and knowledgeable. She shared with us the history of Mexico gastronomy and the more she talked the hungrier we became. Our class was centred around the chilies. Every dish we prepared was full of flavour. Definitely one of the best meals of our trip and a highlight. When we come back we will sign up for another class.

The history of the various ingredients and taco styles was interesting. Unfortunately Paola scheduled 9 people for our event which was way too many for the small prep area she has. Although we diced some ingredients and pressed our own tortillas, it was less hands on and more watching than what I hoped for.

Chef Paola was informative, easy to understand, full of information and just fun to learn from. The food was very good. Our class mates were enjoyable.
