Jose was a knowledgeable and friendly guide. The vehicle was clean . We had booked a 6 hour trip through Viator. Apparently there was a three hour trip but we weren’t able to access that. 6 hours was definitely too long!
As we were travelling on a cruise ship , we didn’t need to have lunch out. Also we don’t like spending our day shopping in establishments that all sell the same thing over and over again. Having free margaritas but then being pressurised in a jewellery store isn’t our thing either.
So unless you want to go off the ship and spend a couple of hours around a flea market and in a restaurant, don’t book the extended version of this excursion. There really wasn’t that much to see!
To fill up time , we dawdled round the shell museum which was fascinating. We then travelled to the countryside to see an authentic Mexican village.
If you want a private tour and you have a specific itinerary this is company to go with. Do be aware that you will be reminded repeatedly that this tour is better than a ship’s tour. Once is fine but not continuously.
I know that many Mexicans have awful life stories. But when you are on your vacation , it’s very difficult when someone keeps reiterating how little money they have. No doubt about it , the ship tours are very limited and expensive but at least you don’t have to endure the emotional pressure and you know what your itinerary is and your agenda.
Jose is very hard working but the company really needs to clarify ,on Viator ,exactly what you are doing when and what the alternative options are

This was the best private tour of Mazatlan it is an absolutely beautiful city. Oscar was our tour guide he was so knowledgeable and he gave us a wonderful tour to experience the beauty of the city! I highly recommend it. I will give you one tip, there is a check-in desk at the port. Book now!

Our driver, Jesus, was knowledgeable and provided us with a good overview of Mazatlan's history.
We did not appreciate being taken to a jewelry shop, as it was not part of our original itinerary. We managed to skip this stop due to our toddlers' hunger. The lunch stop at "La Costa Marinera" was a clear tourist trap, with many tour buses arriving during our visit. The restaurant charged us premium prices for mediocre seafood, which was disappointing.
We were also surprised to find that the waiter had added a 15% tip without our consent, which we felt was inappropriate.
I recommend ensuring that the itinerary does not include stops at jewelry shops or tourist trap restaurants, especially when paying for a private driver service. We would also appreciate it if this travel company could provide more transparent information about the stops and activities planned for the day.

We visited with a cruise and had ages 3-65 and we needed a tour that would go at our pace and this was the perfect fit. Our Driver, Gabriel, was amazing. He drove us to all the sights we wanted to visit and then some we didn't even think about. He gave detailed information about the artwork along the boardwalk and lots of historical information about the town. I would highly recommend this company for a private van tour.

Victor gave us a wonderful tour and overview of the city of Mazatlan. we were first timers here and took the 6 hour toor to get the lay of the land. He explained recent history, patterns of development, and showed us around from the Malecon, up to het new Marina district, adn then to the Centro and old city and the Port. We had the most amazing lunch at La Marea, overlooking the lighthouse and the port. Best shrimp we have ever eaten!
He picked us up at our condo at 9 as arranged and again home at 3:00. this is a great way to get a feel for what goes on where and get tips for activities and restaraunts for the rest of our week. I would highly recomend this type of tour instead of the less expensive Pulmonias, as wth a professional tour guide and AC we could hear the descriptions of what we were passing and ask questions. Victor never hesitated to pull over and go into more detail about anything we were interested in. One of our group had a broken foot and needed a walker, and he was able to modify the tour so that she could get out at major attractions, or stay in the van and rest while we walked around.

If I could give it 10 stars, I would!!! This experience was undoubtedly the highlight of our trip! Our tour guide, Raul, was absolutely fantastic! He expertly navigated us through the city, ensuring we hit all the must-see spots, from touristy attractions to hidden gems. Every recommendation he made was spot-on. Raul ensured we had enough time to enjoy everything we wanted to do while still making it back to the cruise ship on schedule. Plus he crept us rolling with the jokes. We would definitely book this again!

Benjamin was super great he took us to places we would not of seen, he took us to a resturant for lunch that was wonderful. Can't say enough about how wonderful this trip was and Benjamin. I would do this again.

We had a great time exploring Mazatlan with our very knowledgeable tour guide. We hit several spots and enjoyed the day. We went to many local places and all were explained well and we knew what to expect in terms of tips etc., before going to locations and felt very safe. The company and guide were very reputable, informative, and made the day very enjoyable. I would highly recommend this tour and we were happy to have experienced the day with Humberto, he was exceptional!

Jeancarlo Zamora was an amazing driverguide. He warned us about buying silver from the street vendors because it is mostly junk. He also payed for the bathrooms for us when we needed them, which was a surprise to us that we had to pay to use a restroom! We may have went to some of the cruise ship attractions but we missed the cruise ship crowds, which was the point of doing this. He took us to a beautiful beach with a great restaurant where we ate, drank and enjoyed the water. He also took us to a shopping area where we got some great deals on jewelry and other items we were looking for. It was well worth the money!

Our driver Jorge was not good. Did. It want to take us to the mountains and said this was a city tour only. Finally after showing him this is a private 6 hour tour he agreed to take us to the cathedral we wanted to see. We had 3 children, wanted an authentic lunch and he took us to a beach bar with loud music and very overpriced taco. Not a fan of the service.

We did the Mazatlán van tour with Jeancarlo Zamora. What a lovely experience. Jeancarlo was so knowledgeable about the history of the city. He took us to places that a tour bus couldn't go. We left the planning to him, and he showed us 6 jam-packed hours. Some of our favorites were the cliff-diving, the lighthouse and a great lunch on the beach.

Exceptional.. Frank greeted us at the terminal and was very pleasant. He introduced us to our driver/guide Jesus. It was very hot so we limited our tour to mainly driving. Jesus customized everything and showed all the sights as well as an exclusive neighborhood.. he was friendly and truly listened to our needs. And we learned a few good jokes!

This was such an easy experience, we meet up with our driver in the cruise terminal and he was awesome! He showed us some really cool things around the city and was great about taking us places where we felt safe. It was a group of 6 40s ladies and he made us feel welcomed and it was really worth the money! We traveled in December 22

We spent a spectacular and fun day with Eduardo Sanchez. Eduardo is very knowledgeable about the history of Mazatlan, he took us to beautiful and picturesque places and gave us time to enjoy them. I highly recommend Ediardo Sanchez, he is the best!!!

Ben was fantastic we ask him to take us to places that were not normal tourist stops. He knew the city well and was a great driver.private car is the way to go we were so tired of being jammed in a bus with crappy AC and always hurry hurry site seeing.

Personal attention to what we wanted to do. Carlos was very knowledgeable about the city. Unfortunately we waited probably 15 minutes to be picked up at the cruise terminal. When asked we were told “he’s on his way”

Giancarlo was amazing! I can not think of a better way to spend the day in Mazatlan. There was so much to see and do.
Giancarlo was extremely knowledgeable. He told us all of the history and fun facts of the area and answered all of our questions. He gave us multiple options of places to stop. Our favorites were the golden sun area, and the Onilikan Distillery. He wanted to take us anywhere we wanted to go. He even stopped at Starbucks to grab a “been there” mug.
I would highly recommend this excursion. I think it is great for the price. You would get to do a lot of the things other tours offer plus more and for a decent price. Overall this excursion exceeded my expectations.

We took this tour because of our short stay in Mazatlan. We were on a cruise ship and traveling with my 77 year old mother who has some mobility issues and this was an excellent way to see the city of Mazatlan in such a short amount of time. Ivan was our tour guide and did a great job telling us all about the city as we drove to different areas.
We were able to stop and get pics of the natural lighthouse, see a cliff diver, go to the largest cathedral in Mazatlan and a market area and then on to see the newer parts of the city. We were impressed with how clean everything was and how Mazatlan has really done a great job attracting tourists from all over.

A private tour—my wife and I. The tour visited all of the major sites. The guide, jorge (George) was very knowledgeable and organized. He tailored the tour to fit us. My wife is handicapped, so we didn’t visit anything that wasn’t wheelchair accessible. He stopped at a number of locations where I could take pictures, either from the van or outside.
I highly recommend this tour for anyone with mobility issues.

Ivan was a wonderful guide making our day such fun and SO informative. We learned so much about the culture as well as seeing the sights in Mazatlan and the small villages. We saw a cock rooster farm, agave field, and castle-like cemetary in the countryside. After our day with Ivan, we felt we saw the highlights of the area as well as learning about the culture. He is a wonderful guide and I would recommend him and Mazatlan Van Tours most highly.
