Our guide was Madeleine. She was an excellent guide, knowledgeable, bubbly, and was able to speak fluently in both English, French, and French-creole! Our driver was also very careful and curteous. They took us around the island and we were able to see all the sights listed on our tour and serve us refreshing drinks, some local rum and rum cake to boot! You will not regret this tour with Madeleine!

Our tour guide was great. We saw so many interesting sights with about 18 people instead of an overcrowded cruise bus. I would recommend this tour.

It was a long tour without any opportunities to get food or drinks until the very end. I would recommend bringing water and snacks.

Meghan was very sweet and caring, Unfortunately between her accent and the poor PA system, we did not hear all the information she was sharing. She and the driver were very sweet. They even shared delicious pound cake for us! A nice gesture!
I think the tour is good - but the PA system needs to be updated.

This was a nice overview if the north part of the island. Our guide, Sandra, was delightful, even though a few times, she lost the English translation.

The tour guide was great. The tour was simple as there is not that much of interest to see. It is a good half day trip to get to see and know the island. The guide was great and provided snack and drinks at the beach. The van was clan and air conditioned and perfect for a small group tour.

Would give 10 stars out of 5 if I could. Excellent tour guide that was very knowledgeable and took us to some very interesting places. My wife who has been on over 40 cruises said it was one of the best she’s ever been on. Would definitely do again and recommend to everyone. Only negative was not enough time at black sand beach.

For us the highlighted stops were not worth the time of travel. However our guide, Laura, was a delight. She was knowledgeable, eager to answer questions and tried to make sure everyone was understanding her message. We learned a great deal about her village culture and she even sang for us. Florence was good, it was a rainy day so unable to get of the bus at the river or waterfall. Did not go to a rum distillery. Hour spent at the black sand beach was a waste of time, Beach was ugly and dirty sand,

As for the beach, we want to clarify that the black sand is volcanic in origin and may have leaves on the ground, which is typical for natural environments. The rain might have contributed to an impression of untidiness, but we take pride in maintaining our beaches in Martinique, which are generally well cared for. The bus was extremely crowded and HOT! Since the majority of time was spent on the bus we were miserable. The stops were nice but rushed, which I understand because the distance traveled was so far. The bus should have been cool and spacious given the amount of time on board.

This was one of the best tours I have been on. Carolyn was a great guide, providing interesting info on Martinique and the sites. She is from England originally and she reminded me a bit of the actress Judi Dench with abilities to be informative and her poise. I can’t recommend her highly enough.

The tour itself was ok, but vehicle troubles shortened the tour also a seemingly new tour guide with poor English & not much knowledge of the island & history was very frustrating to put it mildly. Questions would be answered with “I don’t know”.

Hello, thank you for your feedback. Indeed vehicle problems can happen, we reacted quite quickly and assigned a VIP bus within 15 min for your small group tour. Fortunately, the tour wasn't shortened because the bus came back 30 min later to compensate the trouble.
Concerning the tour guide, we always have good reviews on her but we take your comment into consideration in order to enforce our training and follow up.

Our tour guide was Joshua. He was knowledgeable, funny and personable. Highly recommend this tour. However, it would be best to advise Hotel Bamboo guests to inquire about the return ferry’s schedule before leaving the pier during morning pick-up to avoid unnecessary delay in the afternoon. We had to waive 2 hours for the next ferry to return to our hotel because we missed the ferry by 5 minutes after drop-off.

this was not the tour we sign up for, they took 2 different tours and put them together, there were at least 22 people in a small van so somewhat uncomfortable. They also left people behind .

Our tour guide did a wonderful job. She was very knowledgeable and pointed out other highlights besides those on our stops. Visited a black sand beach (from the volcano), ruins from the volcano, a distillery stop with a sample of rum and more. She offered all of us a piece of cake and either water or a rum punch. Good value for the money.

Adequate tour. Would not recommend. Not very generous with the water to drink and much less so with any alcoholic drinks. Bus was comfortable and cool. Tour was on a Sunday so most shops closed. I would recommend something else

Hello!
There is no shops on this tour! No places where we are going during this tour as shopping opportunities except at the rum distillery, so maybe you are talking about another tour on another island... The rum distillery is open every sunday so you are able to buy what you want there...and not only rum!
Concerning the drinks they are available to each passengers in the cooler so if you needed something you just had to ask! We provide a lot of drinks for everyone (spring water, juice, rum)...
We are sorry but the unmissable north tour is not a rum tour and not a shopping tour.
This is a bit ashame that you did not talk about the places you visited, how nice and beautiful they are...
For next time, we will be happy to welcome you on our Food Tour in order for you to taste food, drinks, and do all the shopping you want in the downtown of Fort de France!

The tour was easy to find when we got off our ship. Guide was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Made several stops in the villages on the way to the distillery and learned much about the history of the island. Plenty of opportunities for photo ops and enjoyed the distillery the best.

I would not use this company for this tour. We had 14 on our bus. It was hard to understand the man who gave the rum tour. We really did not learn anything as he was hard to understand and talked very softly. They also were not there on time to pick us up. We left at 10 after waiting for 40 minutes in confusion. The guide never talked about the culture of the people or the country. It was a very long bus ride with no conversation. Most of what she said she read from her phone. We were on a large bus and this was to be a small group tour! We did not feel that this was a small group tour. Very disappointed! This was a guarantee of maximum of 12. We did not get fed anything and were hungry due to them being late we missed lunch on our ship. She did provide rum drinks at the beach.

Renee, our driver, and Sebastian, our tour guide thru Beyond the Beach tours, were outstanding. This tour is truly unmissable as advertised. Sebastian was very engaged about giving us information and he really took care of us. He went above and beyond. We left the tour loving the island. This was definitely our favorite stop and tour.

We had a great time on this tour even though the dates got mixed up the tour company were able to fit us in. We got to see most of the Southern part of the island and did stop in at a two year old Rum distillery and sample some of the best rum i have ever had. By the way take euros with you as they rarely take US money.

Gwladys was our wonderful guide. We had the opportunity to visit so much of the island away from the city. The tour was very well organized. We enjoyed a thorough overview of the island including a visit to a waterfall, distillery and several ruins. The bus was comfortable and roomy. While some people went to the beach, others had the opportunity to go to a local bakery and enjoy the food. I would recommend this excursion for those wanting an overview of the island.

Our guide Sebastiano was excellent! He is highly knowledgeable about all aspects of Martinique and was very enthusiastic about sharing his island with visitors. Martinique is a beautiful place. We really enjoyed learning about the volcanic eruption and visiting the rum distillery.
The bus was very comfortable and not overcrowded. I would recommend a better PA system to make it easier to hear.

This was our 1st trip booked with Viator and was booked as an alternative to trips organised by the cruise ship. Very good value, there were 6 of us on the tour and we were transported in a modern comfortable people mover. Drinks were offered both alcoholic and non. The guide sorry can't remember her name was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of information on the island and how it is run, and how people live. We went to a rum distillery, very interesting tour, then the beach, and a waterfall in the rain forest which would be inaccessible to larger vehicles. We were very pleased with the tour and it's success has given us confidence to look at other tours offered by Viator.

We enjoyed this tour! Our tour company was Beyond the Beach, and our guide was named Sebastine. Our van was immaculate and Sebastine was very informative, friendly, and spoke English well. We would definitely recommend this tour for those wanting a good overview and history of Martinique.
