Please wait your tour guide at the exit of the ship/cruise terminal, do not start to walk in the port area. The tour departs from the pier shoreside. Once you disembark, whether there is a terminal building or not, your local tour guide will be waiting at the exit with a sign with your last name. The local tour guide will greet you and walk you to the transportation. This is important not to follow the green line on the floor. Please Note: It is important that you refrain from strolling about the harbor area and just go to the meeting location.

An untimely delay

It was a short drive to the lavender fields. I still remember the fragrance of the fields .... pure heaven... The guide was pleasant and was able to find fields that were still in bloom. My one complaint is that there were issues in picking up a few passengers from the cruise which delayed our start for an hour and a half and took time away from our tour (which is crucial when you have to get back to the ship). We could have explored more. What happened is that one couple didn't follow the instructions and stay next to the ship to be picked up. Instead they went all the way into Marseilles. I know that people make mistakes, but this was a doozy. The company then went overboard in search for them. I could understand if they just went to the entrance of the port and could be accommodated. However, the company, A la Française, prioritized them over us and their other guests; seemingly so they would not have to refund that couple's fee. Even though the couple apologized, no offer or apologies were made by the company. When the couple made this major of a mistake, they should expect to deal with the consequences. The company should have gone on without them and then address the issue with that couple instead of making everyone pay.

Paolo was an excellent...

Paolo was an excellent guide and made sure we had a curated experience exploring Provence and Valensole! The pick up/meeting was seamless and he arrived early. It was a unique small group experience which included stops at various lavender fields (less crowded ones), sunflower fields, a lavender museum, cute town of Valensole for lunch, and a local grower of olives and almonds. Paolo made sure we had great scenery with the least amount of crowds. We learned a lot about the way products were grown and refined in the south of France. He also made sure we were as comfortable as possible during the drive/excursions. The van was very spacious, clean, and cool (98 degrees out today!). Thank you Paolo for giving us an 11/10 experience on this tour. We are so thankful we found your company on Viator. Highly recommended!

Beautiful lavender fields in June

If you’re looking for a great tour of the lavender fields, then this is the one for you. Even though the trip to the fields from Marseille is about an hour and a half it is well worth the time spent. We enjoyed being in a small group of eight people in a very comfortable Mercedes minivan.

Greatly anticipated tour of rural France

Viator was great about setting up the reservation, answering questions and following up with notices of automatic payment 24hrs in advance. We chose to pay in advance to be done with it. Unfortunately, with less than 24hrs notice, the cruise ship notified us that there was a strike at the port preventing the tour operator from providing the tour and for the cruise ship to dock, so Viator chose to keep our money.

Loved this tour. We were picked up at the port waiting area. There was a traffic jam but I was called via Whatsapp and informed. We were taken to an olive farm where we tried olive oil and lavender ice cream. Then we went to the fields of Valensole where the lavenders were in full bloom. We were then taken to a small town where we could get lunch. Overall a nice trip, we were lucky it was good timing since the bloom window is from mid June to mid July only

Amazing Tour & Tourguide

My husband and I enjoyed this tour very much. It was a great experience. This tour is amazing and unforgettable. Nathalie was the best tour guide who we have ever had. She explained in English well, gave us more information about Provence, Lavender, immortal flowers, olive etc. which we had not hear before. She was funny, friendly and customer oriented. We took a lot of beautiful pictures. She informed us about Burratta with Truffel and Lavender ice cream. We had a stop in the small city center of Valensole for a lunch. I ordered Buratta with Truffel and three types of tomatoes: red, yellow and green one with yellow pattern. Then, I tried a Lavender ice cream. Both of them were very delicious ! Unfortunately, booking was so complicated, We tried to book via Internet, but I did not work. The tour was over booked. We called someone from the US, but she was so difficult to understand. After waiting and chatting an Agent gave me the link for booking shared tour. Thanks a lot to Emilie, who called us and organized the pick Up.

Our driver was fabulous, the fields were lovely, we got so much more then we expected! We saw poppy fields, sage, lavender, and coriander. Thomas knew all the best spots that were not crowded at all. He was able to tell us about the history of the area as well and the best local products.
