Please wait your tour guide at the exit of the ship/cruise terminal, do not start to walk in the port area. The tour departs from the pier shoreside. Once you disembark, whether there is a terminal building or not, your local tour guide will be waiting at the exit with a sign with your last name. The local tour guide will greet you and walk you to the transportation. This is important not to follow the green line on the floor. Please Note: It is important that you refrain from strolling about the harbor area and just go to the meeting location.

Your full-day shore excursion to Marseille and Cassis begins with morning pickup from your cruise terminal. Meet your guide and small group, and board the vehicle for the scenic ride along the Route des Crêtes towards Cassis.
Marvel at the rugged beauty of the mountainous terrain en route to Cap Canaille. Here, take in unbeatable views of the Mediterranean Sea, the Gardiole mountain range, and the Gulf of Cassis.
Next, head to Cassis, a charming Provençal fishing town with roots stretching back to 600 BC. Wander around lovely harbor, delighting in the iconic Provençal houses and visiting artisan shops, or take a short cruise (additional expense) to view the region’s famous calanques.
Hop back in the van for the return trip to Marseille and a historic sightseeing tour. Wind through the colorful streets of France’s oldest city and witness the bustle of the country’s largest port. Stop at Notre-Dame de la Garde, a neo-Byzantine Catholic church that sits atop Marseille’s highest point.
From this vantage point, catch sweeping views of the Vieux Port (Old Port); the sparkling Mediterranean Sea; and the grand Chateau d’If, a central setting in "The Count of Monte Cristo."

I have written many 4-5 Star Viator reviews in my life, this is not one of them. This tour started bad from the beginning as you are provided a meeting point link to follow, after walking a mile to find surprise you are at the wrong place. When frantically trying to reach your guide, you are informed that they are waiting for you by your ship and there is a very small spot located in the bottom of their communication telling you that. Why provide a meeting point link if you’re not meant to follow it ? Once the tour began, our very friendly-nice guide gave us a quick drive by of many beautiful spots in Marseille with many being closed as it is Sunday. We finally reach the Notre Dame Cathedral in Marseille and are told we have one hour of free time. The only problem is Sunday mass is going on so you can’t see inside the cathedral. Knowing we have an hour to kill we find a coffee shop at the Cathedral with some of the rudest servers on the planet. After downing the coffee I went to find the bathrooms to find it takes one euro to enter. Don’t use a coin as it will not let you in, after tapping my credit card I was finally allowed entry. Once leaving the Cathedral we drove to the beautiful seaside village of Cassis and was informed we had 3 hours of free time for lunch and shopping. Who really needs 3 hours? Once our 3 hours was up you are driven back to the port. This has to be the most overrated-overpriced tour that we have ever taken.

Regarding the meeting point, an email specifying the exact location at the port was sent to you in advance to avoid this type of misunderstanding.
For Mass at the basilica, opening hours may indeed coincide with religious services, regardless of our organization. As for the behavior of the café servers and the pay restrooms, these elements, while part of the overall experience, are unfortunately not our responsibility.

Well paced tour. Our tour guide Emanuel was excellent. Friendly and knowledgeable. Would suggest in warmer months taking swimming attire for the beach at cassis as there is time to take a swim if you like

The transportation van was difficult to get in and out of for those in the backseat. Our driver/guide did a wonderful job navigating the heavy! traffic in Marseille to get to the sites and providing historical facts. Nice drive to pretty town of Cassis. However, we were there for 2.5 hours, which is much too long, unless you do the boat tour to see the calanques.

The guide was very nice and pleasant, but she was mostly a driver. She didn't lead a tour at two of the three stops and at the stop at Cassi, she left us for 2-1/2 hours. She indicated her operating company would not let her leave the vehicle due to vehicle thefts. There was no tour guidance the entire trip back to the port. The transportation was a 8-passenger van including a middle front seat with virtually no leg room. For the price of $170/person euros, this was not the quality of experience we expected.

We had a great tour with Caroline! She showed us a bit of the city of Marseille and told us some history. She took us to the basilica where we had ample time to explore. The highlight of this tour for us was visiting the beautiful, quaint, walkable town of Cassis in the Callanques. After giving us 2.5 hours for lunch, shopping and exploring in Cassis, Caroline took us to the top of a mountain to see Cassis and Callanques coast from above. We loved this tour!

Amazing tour of Marseille, France and Cassis, France. We had a tour guide for the day, Morgen who was a native of Marseille and extremely knowledgeable! Stops at churches and museums for photos and educational info along with a visit to Notre-Dame de la Garde and the Abbey of St Victor. After, we headed thru a long and winding road to Cassis and the Calanques. We took an boat ride to 3 of the Calanques, which are limestone formations and have some of the most crystal blue water so unique and enchanting!
Enjoyed some local snacks along the way, and I highly recommend the homemade marshmallows and croissants!

The Route des Crêtes is a long and winding road linking La Ciotat to Cassis and is an integral part of the Calanques National Park-this was our favorite part of the trip! I think sometimes the wind and weather conditions cause the road to close and it is not an option, so we were grateful to have this opportunity! It was a long drive, but well worth it! We wished we could have spent an hour here instead of 15 minutes!
This tour is wonderful but it does include a lot of time of sitting in the van. It took awhile to get to many of the destinations, but we all felt like we got to see a lot of the area in one day!

Guide was there on time, very friendly and gave lots of good explanations. Would have liked a little more time in Marseille. The Notre-Dame de la Garde church is very impressive and Cassis is so beautiful. I recommend this tour.

This was an excellent excursion. Emanuel took us on a wonderful two hour tour of Marseille, with stops in plenty of scenic places and with a good amount of time to visit the basillica. Then we drove (beautifully clean and comfy van, good seat belts, microphone) to Cassis where we had 2.5 hours of free time. He took those of us who wanted to do the boat tour to the ticket office and arranged our tickets (17 euros per person, 1 hour tour) then we had 50 minutes to have lunch before our small boat trip, which was excellent. When we got back we had half an hour to buy gelato and some shopping before meeting him at the van. On the way back to Marseille, we stopped at an amazing lookout over the bay. He got us back to the ship n plenty of time. Everyone was very satisfied.

I will start by saying we enjoyed our day out and our tour guide Morgan was very friendly and helpful.
The tour itself though was a disappointment. Seeing Marseille by mini bus is fine and sufficient. However Cassis was a real let down. We were expecting a quaint old French fishing village but instead we got a crowded, noisy tourist spot with few shops and a lot of eateries.
Perhaps people want to go on a boat trip to an island or something but if not then 3 hours is a long time to endure in this village.
This is no fault of the tour operator per se but we were left disappointed overall.

The actual tour was not a problem and would have been enjoyable had we been able to see . Our guide/driver Morgan was wonderful and did everything to make us comfortable.
The mode of transport was the problem. The van was very badly designed and felt more like a prison transport vehicle rather than a site-seeing vehicle. The cramped front seats were the only area where it was possible to see or even take a photo while in motion while anyone in the rear struggled to see from the vehicle let alone take a photo.
The vehicle is totally unsuitable for the purpose for which it is being used.
This criticism was the view of all six people in our party

Hi , our tour guy known as “Pepe” did a great job taking us to Marseille and Cassis. He was very informative, and we also had a great group of us for a total of six . There was no problem, picking us up at the port, arriving on the Royal Caribbean, sympathy of the seas. He had a signed, and it was easy to find me, I never ever use Viator, this was actually my first time, I usually book everything through the cruise ship, will do it again , got my moneys worth, cheaper than through Royal Caribbean, I would pay more and unless. Great saturday, with a perfect mix of Marseille highlights and a a wonderful visit of cassis and the calanques national park. Our guide Florence was very knowleadgeable, and always ready to assist and flexible. We were 6 travelers in total in a nice and comfortable van. While we were not on a cruise and the trip was dedicated to cruise passengers, she offered a pickup point in the city. The tour included a good mix of stops for photos in marseille and the narional park of calanques, as well as a stop to visit notre dame de la garde and a longer time in casis which made the day overall balanced and very relaxing.

This was a great small group shore excursion--there were 8 of us (2 people up front, 3 people in the middle row, 3 people in the back row). Emmanuel was our driver and guide, he wore a microphone so he was easily heard throughout the van. The beauty of the tour was that random stops are added if time allows and we had at least 2, it was nice. The only thing I would have liked was a little more time in Cassis --for us, the weather was great and my friends and I opted for a sit down lunch (because France, etc. are leisurely about meals), that took up most of the time we had in Cassis so there wasn't much time to explore or shop (the meal was well worth it though).
It was easy to find Emmanuel after getting off the cruise. The only drawback was waiting for late comers and I would ideally prefer if there was a note in the reservation warning people that they will get left after a certain time so as not to inconvenience others.
