This was far better than expected. When you are near the port it does not look great but this trip takes you across the coast and it is lovely. Our guide was great and helpful. The water was beautiful and the beach, although all rocks, had clear wonderful water. One thing to note is this does require stamina. My arms are still recovering but worth it.

We had such a great time on this excursion. We were in port only for a day with our cruise and this was such a nice adventure. The kayaking is definitely more of a workout than we anticipated haha but it was worth it. Our guide Jordan was awesome~ friendly, personable and very knowledgeable about the area and took us to some amazing sites. I’d most definitely recommend this to folks visiting Marseille. It takes you off the beaten path and gives you a unique experience with great memories. Just remember sunscreen and a hat!

Dangerous

We were really excited for this kayak trip, but the experience was disappointing and concerning. The waters were rough, and the instructor moved far ahead, leaving our group behind with little guidance or support. Near the dock, there were kids jumping into the water and trying to get onto some of the kayaks that were occupied, which was extremely dangerous. They were also yelling and cursing at us. Unfortunately, the instructor did nothing to address the situation or ensure safety. Overall, the lack of supervision and safety awareness took away from what could have been a great experience.

Bare bones operation

Easy to get to by bus. Close to a bus stop. Meeting place is a public boat launch without toilets or a way to refill water bottles. Changed clothes in pop up tent. Lou, was great, but such a large group should have had a second guide. As it was a solo kayaker with disabilities kept falling behind, and Lou resorted to towing him most of the way back from break.

A day in the bay!

This is quite the workout! The kayaking takes place in the bay (along an underwater channel that they call a kreik - not a typical creek). Our guide Loup was amazing - he kept our group of 18 together despite a huge range of abilities. He took and shared pictures of each kayak along the way, too! The beach you stop at is picturesque and pretty secluded (only a few locals were there with us) which made this a unique experience. We had a few first time kayakers in the group (kids included) and they had a hard time, but as sometimes kayakers it was a good trip.

As first time kayakers and new to Marseille, this was a beautiful and fun way to see the city. Jordan was the best guide, he was kind and I appreciated that he took the time to get to know everyone. I highly recommend this excursion to anyone who needs a break from the tourist parts of the city to get a little sunshine.

It was really fun!!! We saw some beautiful blue waters and got to swim in the coolest coves. Prepare to be really tired. If you are not physically active it will be very hard (it was for me). Very incredible experience nonetheless!

On the plus side our guide was great and the place we stopped for swimming was nice. But my wife and I have kayaked in over 25 places in various parts of the world and found this trip to be rather plain compared to others we have been on.

Hello, So you're giving us 3 stars just because it wasn't as scenic as your other visits around the world. We're not in the Amazon, the great lakes of Canada or in the tropics, so it's a shame to take away stars for that... For example, these are not things we can improve, but a payasage. Fun time paddling along the coast of Marseille. A few little bits of info about Marseille but primarily just paddling and stopping spots on the way to look at cool things in the water. Definitely a good workout, as you paddle ~6.5km over the time 😅.

A fun day in Marseille to spend doing something outdoors. The two young ladies who made this operation possible were very nice and sweet. The weather was perfect. The coast line pretty. The little beach is private and secluded. The swim is awesome. All in all, a very nice experience

This kayak tour was spectacular. Loved it all. These are 2 ppl kayaks so not near as a workout as I thought. The break at the little beach was also a real treat. Our guide had only been doing this for 3 wks and he did a superb job

We went as a family of 6 who have been on 2 previous kayaking tours. This one was a lot harder than the other two. Where before it was on glassy lakes, this one was in the ocean with waves and the distance! I think our guide said we went about 5 miles at the end. My 16 year old son, who is in shape, loved it. Our other kids, were looking for a more relaxing kayaking trip and weren't as enthusiastic. Once we had lunch a little later, they were all glad we went.

We were really looking forward to this tour!! I booked a morning tour as it was recommended to us that the water would be calmer. (Family of 5 - kids are 12, 9, and 6.) Unfortunately, very late the evening before they cancelled our tour and we were told no mornings were available for the foreseeable future. We were given options on afternoon tours. We chose one and hoped for the best. The tour is out of a public parking lot/boat ramp at the very outskirts of Marseille. It was extremely hot, in the 90s with "feels like" temps of over 100 degrees. The check-in was very chaotic. The workers were pleasant and doing their best, but they were running out of wet bags (free), back rests (rented) and kayaks. I have been on many kayak tours and never have I needed to rent the back rest, it was odd. Thankfully we got the last 2 for the adults in our group. I would not have done well without as I have back issues. You also *must* have water shoes or sandals with straps around your heels. They have water shoes to rent which my husband and I did. It was fine. Note- they are very thin soled so the heat and hardness of the parking lot were keenly felt. We then waited in the hot, black parking lot with no shade while others checked in and got their items. It was probably 30 mins of incredible sweaty waiting. Any small shade tent would have been a huge upgrade!! Our guide was lovely! We had a brief lesson and then finally able to get in the cool water! She told us a few things about what we were seeing and passing. It was wavey! And proceeded to get worse throughout the afternoon. We kayaked a total of 7 km along the coast. My arms felt it as we battled the wind and water the entire way out. The sea is breathtaking! The small beach to swim at the halfway point was amazing! I think with a few tweaks this experience could have been wonderful.

Great guides and team. My biggest issue is with the description of the tour - it states you are kayaking in creeks, but you are actually in the sea. It’s a workout for sure! I wouldn’t go with children unless you are ready to paddle the entire time yourself. However, our guide Louis was great - knowledgeable, helpful and kind.

As many reviewers have mentioned, this is a great workout, so make sure you and your group are ready and able to participate in something that could require some straining. The guides were extremely nice, helpful and patient. They took photos for us that we could access later which was a great plus.

This tour is great! Very beautiful, and our guides took great care of the group! It is not for the faint of heart though, as you will paddle several miles in your kayak! We loved it!

We had the best time… Family of 5… traveling with an 11, 9 and 7 year old boys… it is quite the workout but a great way to spend a few hours doing something different than touristing around. Kids enjoyed it (the 7year old just went for the ride).. the 9 and 11 year old are usually highly active so they handled it perfectly… highly recommend it!

Wasted the day on the city bus

We tried to use the instructions of taking the bus to the meeting spot and we were an hour late. We missed the entire trip. Do not use the instructions on the booking confirmation email. Take a cab instead.

We were a group of ten friends who took the guided half day tour in the afternoon a wonderful day in the beginning of may. A bit cold in the water but then again that gave us a chance to cool down a bit about half time in the tour. The back hurts a bit without the available back support plate, which one would think actually should be included in the price. So a recommendation would be to pay for that as well! Over all a fantastic experience and chance to get another beautiful view of Marseille!
