Begin your full-day tour with a pickup from your Marrakesh hotel and climb aboard your comfortable, air-conditioned 4x4 for your journey into the Atlas Mountains.
Sit back and enjoy the views as your guide drives you out of Marrakesh into rural Morocco. Glimpse the rustic villages that sprinkle the rugged landscapes, and soak up the sight of the Atlas mountains as you venture into the foothills.
Follow the winding roads through the hills, where the valley slopes are coated with snow in winter and pastures grazed by sheep in summer. Trace the ancient trails of the Berbers the indigenous peoples of Morocco—along the palm-dotted Ourika, Asni, and Tahanaout valleys, passing rivers, fruit orchards, and timeless Berber villages that cling to the hillsides.
En route, see villagers at work in their smallholdings and learn about their slower, age-old way of life far from the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh.
Pull up in the village of Tahanaout and experience the simple traditions that characterize the Berber lands. Visit the wooden mills that are still used to grind grain, and chat to some of the hospitable, smiling locals over a refreshing glass of mint tea.
Continue into the Ourika Valley, passing rushing streams, olive groves, and mud and stone Berber settlements. Stop at a village and visit a local restaurant for a delicious lunch of Berber staples such as couscous with chicken. See the Itinerary for a sample menu.

This was the highlight of our Marrakech trip! It was appropriate for all ages. The scenery was spectacular. The van was comfortable and roomy and our driver was very skillful. Our guide was interesting and informative. I would highly recommend.

This was the highlight of our Marrakech trip! It was appropriate for all ages. The scenery was spectacular. The van was comfortable and roomy and our driver was very skillful. Our guide was interesting and informative. I would highly recommend.

Must do tour when you visit Marrakech.
Tour operator was knowledgeable and driver was helpful and patient. Loved stopping off to witness the mint tea making process at a local village.

Don't know why we were in a 4x4, we didn't leave the roads. The scenery was fantastic and the driver and guide knowledgable and good fun but It was a well travelled tourist route with the inevitable retail opportunities. The visit to a Berber family to take tea was a high point.

Please avoid, first in terms of sites and scenery you would be better off doing ouarzazate and Ait Benhaddou tour, second we were conned by our guide into buying overpriced argan oil from a women cooperative (guide recommended and stopped midway to this shop) they refused to give a receipt as well.

A really fun day, well worth the money. I would have liked to have been longer at the lunch stop to explore the village a bit and do some shopping, but they chooffed us off rather quickly directly after lunch. That was the only shame as the village looked interesting.

An amazing experience with an excellent guide and very good driver. Everything was very well organised from pick up at hotel to our return. We didn't realise that this part of the Atlas Mountains , with its three valleys would be so green and wooded.Spectacular scenery. We learnt a lot about the Berber people and it was good to visit a Berber House and meet the family. The lunch provided before we headed home was very tasty!
We were in a small convoy of 4X4s but this didn't detract from the day's enjoyment.

Our tour guide Ahmed was brilliant. We were given interesting facts and were given opportunities to take scenic pictures. The pace was really good and the views were breathtaking!

There were 4 of us two adults and two teenage children. We all had a great day out, a long day but well worth it.
The trip goes at quite a pace but this is needed to cover everything in the day,So it is good to be in one of the lead cars as if your at the back you seem to play catch on things. The views were amazing and the heights you clime are something else, as well as the drops from the side of the road. The food was good at lunch, but i would take some water with you as its very hot and dusty.
great trip, well worth the money.

This tour offered a nice contrast to exploring the city. It was a cool sunny day and the mountain views were spectacular. Our driver was skilled and tour guide very warm and knowledgable. Frequent stops were made to take in the views and Berber tea with local villagers was the highlight of the day. My only complaint: backseats in the vehicles can be uncomfortable.

A brilliant trip to see some fantastic scenery and some lovely people.The mint tea in the Berber house is a real highlight and the lunch at Imil superb..Khalid was a great guide.There are lots of opportunities for photographs.The weather even at this height was warm even in February and we didnt really need the winter coats we brought.Also we were glad we brought bags of sweets as they were well received by the children and a better alternative to money as small currency was not easy to obtain.

We went with like 5 cars and only one real tour guide. So we heard him talk on a few stops in English. Our driver only spoke French and so we didn't understand what he was telling when we were on our way. It is a good tour, but it is very expensive for what you get.

Great tour across the atlas mountains and to meet the Berber people. Tour guide was very informative and had a good sense of humour. Lunch was good food and everything was reasonably priced. Fantastic going to a berber house and having authentically made mint tea (tasted great). As we were parked along the side of the road looking at a site, a massive herd of goats came up the road impromtu. Incredible scenery I was not expecting. Well organised trip, we really enjoyed it.

I would say its overpriced for what you actually get. Also, it does seem staged when you visit the barber house and the restaurant it doesn't look very authentic. Yes, the mountains are beautiful and worth seeing, but for this price you could hire a car if there's many of you and do the trip yourself, cos on this trip that's what you do just ride around the mountains with some stops to take pics. The food we ve got wasn't the best it was ok, but the tea in the locals house was pretty good. Our guide was great, pleasant and nice.

we returned to Marrakech with this trip in mind as the highlight of our trip.we were not disappointed.i emailed the tour reps in Marrakech before leaving the uk.they gave us a time that they would be picking us up and arrived no more than a few minutes late.we requested an English speaking guide and that's what we got .the views on this trip are stunning and I was amazed at the amount of small villages spread out and cut into the steep hillside of the atlas mountains.for me personally I was intrigued by the people you see on the way.you can be miles from the nearest village ,yet you will see people walking or just standing by the roadside.i would recommend having a light breakfast ,as the lunch that you are provided with is quite substantial.you will get one or two street sellers approach you on a couple of the stops but a firm no thankyou will stop them bothering you .I would certainlyrecommend this trip and if I was to return to Marrakech then I would more than likely do this tour again

Picked tour up on due date prompt arrival really really interesting saw the real Marrakech visited Berber family had tea in their house and saw how they lived, was really authentic did not appear set up. Tour guide really informative, beautiful scenery first time we have used viator would use again

Although we had an English speaking guide with the group of vehicles, our driver spoke no English. Our only acess to the guide was when we stopped and he was also dealing with French speakers as well. The scenery is great, as long as you are comfortable with long periods in a 4X4. We made a stop for tea at a Berber home which was interesting, and a stop at a pottery and Argan Oil cooperative which was less so. The lunch was excellent. A few stops along the way to stretch legs and view the scenery.
