We booked this tour as a group tour but were positively surprised when we found out that it was only our family of 4 who was going. Hassane was a very knowledgeable, experienced and friendly guide/driver who spoke perfect english. As we chose to do the 2day/1night tour, the trip was very long but he made sure that we stopped every couple hours for breaks, sightseeing or food. The drive through the Atlas Mountains and the Berber villages was breathtakingly beautiful and very interesting. When the sun started to set, we switched from SUV to camel backs! The 90 minute ride through the sand dunes accompanied by the most gorgeous sunset and a persistent warm breeze was one of the most impressive experiences in my life, so far. The actual campsite can hold up to 120 people but we shared it with only one more family of 6. The delicious dinner was followed by Berber drum music at the fire pit and when the musicians were done the star gazing began. The sky in the desert is so clear and unpolluted, and the silence is incredible. The bathroom facilities are well equipped and clean. The next morning, we were served a big breakfast and, then, mounted our camels to meet Hassane with the SUV. On the way back to Marrakech, we stopped several times to visit small pottery manufacturers, explore Kasbahs and look at interesting architecture. When we finally arrived at our hotel, we were tired, sweaty and dirty but full of incredible lifelong memories. We did this trip in late June which is not typical tourist season due to the higher temperatures. However, as the heat is dry we never felt it was unbearable and the advantage of fewer tourists is definitely a plus!

Découverte exceptionnelle même si les trajets A/R sont longs (près de 8h à chaque fois!): grâce à MOHAM, notre guide, aux poses régulières et au confort dfu 4X4, nous n'avons pas vu le temps passer! Les vues exceptionnelles, la casbah souterraine et la poterie de Tamegroute, la Vallée du Draa,le site d'Aït Ben Haddou, les paysages époustouflants de la vallée de Telouet,les innombrables Ksars et Kasbats, la balade en dromadaire, le diner typique,le ciel étoilé et le lever de soleil, ce fut un véritable enchantement. Ce voyage restera inoubliable même si nous avons été très déçus par: 1)le petit déjeuner qui n'était pas vraiment typique: jus d'orange artificiel industriel, ni oranges ni dattes, ni pastèque, ni pâtisseries. 2) la soirée berbère musicale qui s'avéra plus que très restreinte: à peine 20 minutes et 2 chants accompagnés par 2 tamtam et une paire de castagnettes. Pas de Guembri ni de Zurna ni de ...danseuses. Le Ramadan et le nombre limité de participants (nous étions 8) n'est pas une excuse. 3) Faire payer 20 dirhams une bouteille d'eau alors que le séjour a coûté 5000 dirhams: ce n'est pas très smart, surtout au pays de la générosité. A noter également que les chiffres grossièrement peints les portes des tentes cassent un peu la magie du bivouac! les repères pourraient être des animaux du désert stylisés par exemple, à l'image des figurines homme-femme pour différencier les toilettes.
