Sybille was absolutely fabulous. We were a group of seven and she took the time to show us restaurants and shops that were off the beaten path. She introduced us to the owners and they too were so friendly and shared all the stories about their shops or restaurants. She is a great storyteller and historian, she shared them in an away that kept you engaged and smiling and laughing. I would highly recommend Syb. The best 3.5 hours of our day. Anna was the most amazing guide ever! I originally thought we’d have only a foodie experience but she was super knowledgeable about Lyon and gave us amazing insights in history in a very light manner, without it being tiresome. She was also very kind to us and made sure all the food restrictions were respected without it altering the quality of the food for those who needed something a bit different.
The food we tried was fantastic, and a great opportunity to taste multiple local dishes without needed many days and meals to do so.
Definitely recommend this tour for those who will visit Lyon in the future.

Pros: our tour guide Oliver was awesome! Super knowledgeable about Lyon and its history, and a great sense of humor. He brought us to some super cute places with an excellent assortment, especially the chocolate place.
Cons: traditional Lyon food may not be what most people expect when they think of French food. It’s not the “wow” kind of flavors packed with rich complex layers. It’s just kind of okay. Maybe some people will like it, but it’s not what we were expecting of a world renown gastronomic hub

This tour was a comprehensive food experience of Vieux Lyon. Our guide, Nathalie, brought us to several local spots to test regional dishes from an apéro to a plate in a local bouchon (both featuring local wines) to sweets and chocolates from a notable sweet shop. Nathalie provided excellent guidance about the history of Vieux Lyon and some of its under-the-radar spots along the way. This was a great tour and I would recommend it as part of a well-rounded Lyon experience. Lyon is known as the Capitol of Gastronomy for a reason.

The food tour was fairly short in distance, focusing only on the old town. The guide was excellent and the old town beautiful.
The food itself was ok, I think the tour is very expensive for the included stops. Charcuterie and a small local wine, some chocolates and then a local main course in a bouchon with 4 options only and another small wine. For £95 feels extremely expensive. I would say this would cost around £30 to purchase yourself in this location... The food for those who are not familiar with Lyonaise isn't food everyone will have eaten before. Options were Coq au vin "with cock not chicken" cheese ravioli, quenelle (fish dumpling) or tripe sausage.
I met some absolutely wonderful people on this tour and enjoyed the discussions and history element.

We also appreciate you pointing out the uniqueness of the menu. The tour is designed as an introduction to traditional Lyonnais cooking, which can indeed be different from everyday expectations. For a lot of guests, that discovery aspect is exactly what makes the experience memorable.
Nonetheless, it is lovely that you connected with fellow guests and enjoyed the history along the way, which is a core part of what we aim to create on every tour. Tour was at a gentle walking pace, which was good. We enjoyed the cheese & cold cuts. Sweet treats of praline, chocolate, brioche and green marzipan (I went back to this shop for more). The wine was good too. Main dish was a choice. Our guide was wonderful full of information about various sites along the tour & he provided info on great ice cream & coffee shops. Both of which we went to later… his recommendations proved great!

Charlotte is a good guide. She explains the history of Lyon in clear English and took care of everyone well despite of the morning rains. The reason we don't think it is worth 5 star is the price of the tour for the food and restaurants offered. Would have been a better experience if a more beautiful setting restaurant with 2 or 3 courses set lunch is catered on top of the sweet treats picked up along the way.

Ash was an amazing and personable guide leading us all through the streets of Vieux Lyon and sharing the history as well as traditional foods from this beautiful city. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we especially appreciated the smaller group size as it was a more intimate style tour.
