The pick up logistics were unnecessarily complicated, with bus, boat, bus. At each stage there’s lots of confusion and delay the only common theme was we were the last bus or boat to arrive. The launch followed this theme too. I fully understand Luxor air traffic control are in charge of launch control but when they did give permission we were one of the last to take off. Looking at other balloon set ups we were in a very cramped basket. I got the impression the basket was sized for 16 not the 20 on board our flight.
On the plus side the balloon pilot was excellent very smooth take off, flight and a perfect landing. He made a real effort to ensure that each side of the basket got to see all of sights, and flight experience was very good. I would do it again but do more research on who I would choose.

The hot air balloon experience itself was breathtaking and the only positive aspect of the trip. However, the rest of the service was a complete disaster. The pick-up timing was poorly managed that we missed the sunrise, transportation was disorganized, and the overall organization was chaotic. It was frustrating and disappointing, and I cannot recommend this experience due to these major flaws.

Everything was perfect and smooth. We were picked up on time at 4.30 am and taken by a comfortable vehicle to a motorboat where we waited for other guests and were served a breakfast snack. After crossing to the other side of the river bank we were split into groups and driven to the launch sites where we awaited our flight. Seeing the many balloons being pumped up was an incredible sight itself and we were always accompanied by a guide. We were given a safety briefing before getting into our own balloon for take off and we felt safe at all time under the command of our professional pilot.
The views are just incredible, countryside, monuments and the river Nile, all against the lovely rdawn backdrop. We flew with varying altitudes and crossed the Nile giving us a perfect view of traditional houses and farmland and the pilot rotated the balloon now and again so everyone got a fair share of the views.
Our landing was safe with ground staff ensuring the balloon was well secured everyone got off safely. We were then whisked back to our hotel in time for breakfast.
This was one of our best tours, we were kept in touch at all times, messages were promptly replied to and at no time were we hassle for tips.
A must do for an incredibly low price and thank you to Cheap Tours for making our trip so memorable. 5 stars

Excellent trip. You go up after the sun has risen but it's charming seeing the other balloons in the sky and the landscape below. Mirna helped coordinate the process and was extremely responsive to all questions.

DO NOT BOOK THIS TRIP. IT IS A SCAM. As seen in the name, this is very obviously a sunrise trip. NO. You are only booking a date. They will let you know the day before that there is bad weather (there wasn't) and that there are no more spots available for sunrise. What i expect they are doing is booking or over booking and then will not tell you what slot you get. More reputable companies will show they are full. Not this one. They offered us a sunrise trip 4days later. As a traveler you know that is not always possible. Then they asked us to cancel but that would incur a cancelation fee. We saw the review of a lady stating that she lost her money and another man stating that he paid for sunrise and others paid for a day ride (which is cheaper). And look at that we fell for it and paid more and got a day trip. Rather use a more reputable company and be ensured of your spot and ride times.

Absolutely TERRIBLE! We booked for a sunrise flight (330 am pickup) no one showed up till 6 am, wee we waited on the boat transfer for 20 mins, then waited in a crowded street on the van for another 30 minutes (in which time the sun fully came up) then were brought to the balloon after the guide said “it’s not my fault it’s the four company viators fault they booked you the later tour) my confirmation was for 330 am pickup and sunrise flight. Then we are crammed into a balloon basket, the basket isn’t properly distanced from the engine fire and ended up spending the whole flight crouched down in the basket because it was unbearably hot from the fire just above our heads. Requested a full refund as what we booked and paid for (sunrise flight) was not AT ALL what we got. Hoping viator makes this right

Wonderful experience. Crossing the Nile before sunset and again after the balloon ride. The balloon ride itself. The sunrise was outrageous. The pilot skilled. Overlooking so many excavations, temples and tombs. I highly recommend.

Amazing flight, floating over the Valley of the Kings just before dawn. The moon was full and the sky was filled with balloons, intermittently lighting up like fireflies. One of the best events of the entire time in Egypt. The captain did a great job and Mirna was very helpful in organizing the trip. Thank you again!

We booked a Sunrise tour, however we received a message the night before that our pick up time was 6:10am instead of the 3:30 planned for sunrise.. when I questioned they said something about “weather/government” I did not question it and left it alone. However the morning of, I could see the balloons outside in the air at sunrise, so that was disappointing. We did not receive water, nor the flight certificate or souvenir. The actually ride itself was pretty amazing! I will say the operators are very well organized, however I would not recommend… bc I did not get what I booked.

Me and my sister booked for 3:30 am, it was changed to 4:30, we asked if we would be on time for the sunrise (it's at 5:15) and they said yes, plenty of time.
Pick up was ok but we waited on the boat to cross the Nile for over 30 minutes for a group of people who booked a later flight.
Worthless saying we saw plenty over 10 balloons taking off while we were still on the boat.
We got to the balloon take off point at 5:45 and we waited again until 6:40.
No one was giving information.
Our flight had a problem, one burner wasn't working so we took off, we 100 meters high or so, and we went down 20 minutes after without seeing anything as we were just rotating on the spot.
No one admitted the issue or apologised.
Worst thing is that since 5 am I contacted CHEAP TRAVELS, the tour operator, and they declined any responsibility as "they did the pick up on time"
They obviously have no clue of their responsibilities as tour operators and they are keep trying finding excuses not to issue a refund (like weather issues, but other balloons were flying, or that it was too late and hot to fly, well we booked the 3:30, they changed it)
We have all documented and we are awaiting for the refund.
We booked through Viator to have better customer support, I really hope they will help.

What a deception!
We booked a sunrise experience with hot air balloon. What a surprise to be informed the day before that the sunrise ride will be switch to a morning ride.
The messy organization is a real problem for this experience : the bus collected us really late, we waited more than 1 hour before riding, then the way back to our hotel lasted 1 hour for only 5 km…
However, the experience is incredible. What amazing views on plenty of temples and Nile valley.
Yet we highly recommend booking the experience through another company than Viator.
PS: we wrote back to the agency after the experience, without any answers. Really poor service offered by viator regarding this experience.

The experience was great in everyway. The pick up was at the exact time and the balloon took off right on time to catch the sunset. We paid for the video additional but yet to see how they have shot it. The views are great and we were also skeptical about the programme as it was quite cheap but "cheap tours" rock!

Balloon ride was cancelled and we only found out when we rang up to check on the pick up time, they would have let us get up at 3am to wait for a car that was not going to come. Dreadful communication. Massive disappointment

Amazing views of the temple complex and Luxor overall. Our group leader was helpful and easy to coordinate pick-up/drop-off times with. They provided tea and snacks, and even played the drums during our initial send-off into the air. Incredible experience for sure!

We wrote the contact number the day before but didn't receive a response. At 3.30am, with the help of the receptionist, we got ahold of the organiser. He told us that he didn't see the booking, although it was done 3 weeks before, and the balloon was already fully booked. He didn't give us a solution and we missed it. If you are booking a balloon ride, I recommend you do it once in Egypt with local guides or your hotel.

When we were given the clear to Fly, our captain did a great job in maneuvering the balloon and showing us the sites in the area.
Definitely an experience I would do again with this company specifically.

It was very difficult to contact this service provider. I've tried to call them, send them whatsapp, get my hotel to call them, and they only reply back with very little information. They were very demanding in asking for passport photos but did not answer any of the logistic questions we had. Such a terrible experience and will recommend Trip Advisor & Viator to remove this from their recommended service providers. Also the duration of the hot air balloon was very short, and at the end all the staff is very pushy trying to get a tip from all their customers
