This is was so far the worst “tour” experience I ever experienced!!! We paid around 40$ each and all they did was coming to pick us up from the hotel driving us to the Valley of the kings left alone and no giving us any information or instructions/tips. We purchased the extra tickets at the Valley of the Kings and after 2 hours the driver started messaging if we finished with the visit telling us that he was waiting for us and we had to rush back. Before leaving the car we asked what time we should meet and said anytime. After that they told us that we should respect the time indicated on the Viator link. They took to the Valley of Queens and guess what ? Tomb of Nefertari was closed !!! Since March 2024!!!!! Honesty for 40 $ each this is a rubbery for just taking us from one place to another.

This tour gave us basically everything we wanted. We were most interested in entering the tombs in the Valley of the Kings, especially King Tut’s tomb, and we were able to do that. The tour guide was helpful and informative. We couldn’t go to Nefertari’s tomb because it was closed for renovations. Parts of the tour could have been better. We ended up sitting at a cafe for about 40 minutes at the beginning while the driver picked up another family from a cruise. Also, we were taken to an alabaster shop, which was something not included in the description and that we didn’t need. While there weren’t any high-pressure sales tactics, this felt like a waste of our limited time in Luxor. This seems to be the norm in Egypt, as another tour took us to a papyrus gallery and essential oils factory. Again, overall the experience was good, but I would have preferred to focus on the tombs and monuments, and less on being sold items by local merchants.

This tour does not include Nefertari’s tomb, even though it’s in the title of the tour. The tomb has been closed since March 2024. I realize that things change but the closure happened eight months ago, plenty of time to update your website! I had a problem with Viator two years ago and vowed to never use them again, but they were the only company offering tours to Nefertari’s tomb so I took a chance. Also scheduled the tour (private) at 9 am. Late the night before, got a call that the tour was rescheduled for 7 am. (I had a late travel night so I was not looking forward to an early start) This also happened the last time I booked with Viator in Romania… after I went to sleep I got a message that my pickup had changed to a different hotel and didn’t find out until the morning… I tried taking a taxi to the “new” pickup location but was unable to get a ride because it was not accessible by taxi and I tried walking but couldn’t find it.. I called the driver and suggested the van pick me up on one of the main streets but he told me it was too late and I had missed my tour… lost my $$ and also my main reason for visiting Romania (Dracula’s castle) complained to Viator but never got a response… it seems to me this company will lie and make changes without your knowledge or consent. Never, ever again… been fooled twice. also, as far as my Luxor tour, the driver tried to talk me into going to some Alabastar factory where I’m sure he would have got some commission… no thanks.. also never got the free bottle of water advertised.. driver skipped last stop on tour but after the extra early start I was too tired to go there anyway

As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe and well taken care of :) The guide was knowledgeable about the sites and started explaining already from the car (where there was AC instead of standing hours in the heat). They contacted via whatsapp the night before, and accommodated for a last minute add-in of travelers I met from my hotel. We entered 3 tombs, and purchased an additional entry for King Tut (untouched tomb, so I thought it was worth it). We started the tour at 9am and returned at 2pm.
Also note it is incredibly hot so bring an umbrella :)

Advertising with Nefertari visit while the tomb is closed already for months ,instead bringing you to a Alabast factory no thanks was not happy at all
Response from Host, Sep 2024
We are so sorry about that but nefertari at this time was closed

Queen Nefertari’s tomb has been closed since March 2025, which takes away all the interest of the Valley of Queens! A change to the ad would be more honest!
The tour, however, ordered and paid for in French, was finally in English!
Not a single bottle of water was offered during the visit!
