Amazing out of this world and to sit at the restaurant at the top for lunch just blew my mind. Well worth the trip. Gettin to ride on top of the cabriolet was awesome, even with my fear of heights

Stanserhorn CabriO-Bahn is a unique experience

Pay less if Purchase tickets directly from the ticket booth. The Viator package was very expensive for what you got, which was basically the lift ticket. We had to get ourselves there by train. There was no organized presentation by a ranger. You could ask questions if you happen to run into him. That being said, it was an absolutely beautiful ride to the top, with the open air deck offering a unique perspective. Views from the top were beautiful. There were walking trails you could follow with benches along the way where you could just sit and enjoy the views of the farms and villages below and listen to the cow bells. You can see the snow capped mountains, the air smelled so fresh. The restaurant offered good food and refreshments Which you could enjoy either inside or outside on their large decks. Bathroom facilities were clean and well maintained.

You can walk down halfway to the bottom on a nice trail. No need to reserve a space to walk down. If planning on taking the gondola down you need to reserve a spot.

Adventure in the mountains

What a wonderful journey into the mountains! The views are spectacular, the people are generous and friendly, the food at the top is wonderful, and the cable car is quite the thrill. Would absolutely recommend. If you’re coming from Lucerne, the cheapest and easiest way to get there is by train. We didn’t know that and spent far too much money on a taxi! That’s our pearl for fellow travelers.

There was NO skipping the line. We had to go through the same process as those who showed up without tickets. I’m fact, it would have been less time had we not bought the skip the line pass. They had to look up our tickets and verify them.

Top of the world!

Viator purchase gets you the token for up and down the mountain. (Yes you can hike down). The train ride is nice, and the Cabrio was nice and smooth. Colder on the outside as you get higher. Nice restaurant and gift shop.

WOW! The Alps!

April 21, 2023. Saved almost $100. over the River cruise tour price. We took the 15 minute train ride from Lucerne to Stans for $8. The weather in Lucerne was cold, overcast, foggy & drizzly so was really worried when we were blinded with, what turned out to be, a cloud. I was looking upward but turned around and to my complete amazement, we were above the clouds with the most incredible view of blue skies and snow capped mountains! It turned out to be warmer on the mountain top in the sun! In the pictures you can see the clouds below (not glaciers). Florida girl went to the top of the world!

What a fun experience. It seems to be not on all the major tour lines itinerary, so the experience has a more chill and relaxing vibe. My wife and I enjoyed the ride, with a viewing platform on top of the gondola all the way to the top! On top there is a restaurant, gift shop, and there are hiking trails. Highly recommend doing this experience if you’re in the area for a couple of days.

We took the local train to Stans and it was a 5 minute walk to the funicular at the base of the mountain. We then transferred to the enclosed gondola for the rest of the trip up the mountain......very easy and very nice!!
