    Tiwanaku

    Ashvin_P, Jan 2025
The transportation broke down so we lost over an hour waiting for a new van. Once we arrived we were rushed through the museums without any time to explore on our own. Then the main tour of Tiwanaku was very quick due to the fact we had to make lunch. Again we only had 10 mins to explore the ruins the same with Puma Punku. As most tourists only do this once all we had was a few minutes to take photos. Very disappointing

Very dusty drive out to the site. Guide was very serious and could have made things a bit less serious. Bus was very crowded and hot. Sites were very interesting.

    I love history and...

I love history and enjoyed seeing the ruins. I think the trip could have been shorter as there was a lot of repetition and the guide spent more time talking than I would have preferred. This wasn’t helped that it was in both Spanish and English so the focus was in Spanish and I started to tune out what the guide was saying, not finding the talk beneficial. There was only 1 person in our group who opted for the lunch which meant the group was sat waiting for an hour whilst the guides and 1 visitor had a sit down lunch.

Thank you for letting us know your opinion. We will try to improve the tours, groups in English and Spanish implies the number of clients that sometimes both must leave to have the minimum.

    Excellent tour

This is a great tour! For one the drive is stunning through the Bolivian countryside. Secondly, if you are into history at all this tour is so rich. The guide was extremely knowledgeable!

Site Needs More Excavation to be a Worthwhile Tour

    Clint_J, Jul 2022
The trip to Tiwanaku was in a 10 large van. The tour guide had no microphone and could not be heard over the road noise. The 1000 speed bumps on the way and back made the ride very uncomfortable. It would have been ok if the Tiwanaku sight was not so disappointing. According to the guide, only 10% of the archaeological site is exposed, and much of it was restored and not original. The monoliths were great, and the guides theory of their creation was excellent. But I would not recommend the trip until more of the site is excavated.

    Response from Host, Jul 2022

Good afternoon Clint_J, Thank you for your comment, we understand that the noise from the outside with the potholes could not be understood on the minibus, however we will install a microphone so that everyone can hear clearly. About the archaeological site Tiwanaku is a place where it needs a lot of support for the excavation expenses and that comes from our decisions as a company, we will see if with some letters from the tourist companies we could carry out more excavations. Cordially, Paolo ROCA

    Highly Recommended in Bolivia

We had a great experience in Tiwanaku. The tour started slightly late due to traffic but we still had plenty of time to look around. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, would highly recommend.
