Not to be adviced if you really want to see the place

Karina_H, Nov 2023
The transportation was in an old , to small car. ( local taxis are even better) . The museum was run through in minutes without time for looking at things yourself. Although pickup at your hotel, you where dropped off in middle of la paz. It was all a rushed experience

A good location for landscaop and archaeology

Rob_W, Nov 2022
It was a great site to visit, obviously not as impressive as some of the others found elsewhere but a nice location to visit. Lunch was as expected- soup and meat/fish with rice etc. I felt the guide kind of ticked the boxes with his delivery of information and didn’t always understand my English but he did enough of a job to help us understand the site. Worth visiting for the archaeology and landscape.

We came to Bolivia because of THIS tour. It was OK the guide was obviously a knowledgeable person but didn't put the effort we expected. He treated us fine, but like we came here to take pictures and put them on facebook not at all in our case. He would professionally complete what he intended to say at each visited site, and then quickly returned to his cell phone. It is the best combination if you have a guide who is really passionate and knowledgeable at the same time.

The tour guide is not counting people. We missed a couple and bus left before the tourists in the same group realized it...

The guide showd up on time. She was very interested in the subject matter and posessed a lot of knowlegde on the topic. Educating. The site itself was badly taken care of and the organization of it is unsatisfactory. The bus was really uncomfortable, no seatbelts for passangers. That is totally irresponsible. The traffic in Bolivia is extremely dangerous. The participants were contrary to the agreement dropped off close to the centre of the chaotic city, La Paz.

The trip was excellent, the tour guide however lost people including myself because she didn't do a head count before leaving each site, other than the trip was great!

Once everyone's been picked up took 90 mins, the drive to Tiwanaku takes about 90 mins, the first half of which is very slow as it's through the city and in places doesn't seem to be on official roads. There's very little to see at the sight - the two museums aren't particularly interesting and the site is sparse and flat the pyramid is more of a mound and the other sites contain minimal interesting content. Lunch is provided in the nearby town and was reasonable. After lunch there was a quick visit to a small site at the other side of town, then we were driven back to the main Cathedral in La Paz and left to make our own ways back to our hotels two blocks for me, several miles for others. The guide spoke in Spanish and then English and ensured that everyone was engaged. Effectively the tour was a leisurely stroll in the sun, but this sight is a poor relation compared to other pyramid sights in South America, Africa or Asia.

Anstrengende
