Oh my God when I say this is one of the best experiences I have done in Japan. This is no exaggeration. The way the teacher coordinated the class. It was almost mesmerizing watching Japan culture up close I would suggest anyone please go do this even if you don’t like tea

It was a very meditative experience, guided by a soft spoken tea master (Naoki). I appreciated the reflective and quiet space provided to really enhance the sensory parts of a tea ceremony.

Enjoyed learning about the history of tea in Japan and watching the process. My daughter loved the matcha tea and I had the black tea. There is a lot that goes into it. They also gave a dessert treat before we drank the tea which we enjoyed.

This tea ceremony was a great experience for us. It is over 1200 years old and showed us that being mindful and focused while enjoying tea within the company of others is an art form.

The tea ceremony with Oboro was a truly unique and memorable experience. Our host, Taku, spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable, helping us appreciate the cultural depth of the tradition.
During the session, he demonstrated the preparation of matcha tea with great attention to detail, allowing us to observe and connect with the beauty of this timeless ritual. Guests also had the opportunity to taste the freshly prepared matcha.
Held in a beautiful old Japanese house, the setting added charm and authenticity. The atmosphere was calm and peaceful—perfect for experiencing traditional Japanese culture.
Highly recommended for anyone looking to glimpse Japan’s rich traditions and enjoy a relaxing, reflective moment in Kyoto. Thank you to Taku and Ryoko for such a wonderful experience.
