Itinerary
Your half-day experiential Izmir shore excursion begins as you dock along the scenic waterfront. Depart the port and meet your guide, then set off to explore the magic of Izmir. Your first stop is one of the best, ancient Agora, a site that was once a thriving Roman bazaar. Today you can stroll its remains, imagining what is was like during its apex, and admiring the stately Corinthian columns and archways.
Next, follow your guide to Izmir’s Archaeology Museum, filled with ancient Roman and Greek artifacts, including the gargantuan head of the statue of Domitian. Then head toward town, where you can see Ottoman architecture. The tower features four fountains around the base in a circular pattern. Stroll over to the clock tower in bustling Konak Square. You’ll find images of this tower and its four fountains surrounding its base on postcards and souvenirs that line the waterway, a prized symbol of Izmir.
As your tour comes to a conclusion, take a peek at the scenic Alsancak district and Pasaport Quai along the waterfront, then return to your ship in time for your departure.
Worry-free Shore Excursion:This trip ensures your on-time return to Izmir's port. It is unlikely, but should your ship depart before your return, transportation will be arranged to your next port. Your money will be refunded if your arrival to the port of Izmir is delayed. See the terms and conditions for details.

Knowledgeable guide, could have done without the "rug demo" since you are essentially stuck at there until the sales staff finally recognizes you aren't buying. Turns out our itinerary had shifted and we came in to a different port (Kusadasi). Viator, in typical fashion, just rearranged us to attend the Kusadasi half-day tour instead. I ALWAYS look up Viator options before booking a cruise ship excursion or anyone else.

Excellent, very informative and made us feel very secure and comfortable. Punctual and good company. Highly recommend.

Izmir was a city full of charm! We visited Agora, Kadifekale, and two museums. View from the Kadifekale was unforgettable. Without this guided tour, we could not see the city in such a compact time slot because the local trails might be a bit complicated to aliens! The guide named Ihsan was really professional! We enjoyed every moment with uncle Ihsan. I was a bit worried about the return time to the cruise ship, however, we could get to the ship in reasonable time.

We enjoyed our half-day Izmir tour. Our party of 4 was also joined by another couple on their honeymoon in Izmir. We were able to see much of the city and experienced a little bit of the culture and also had time to visit the local market and have Turkish coffee. Our tour guide was very informative and very pleasant.

Very nice tour. Appreciated that we were accommodated on the full day tour when the half day tour was cancelled.

we were met at the ship on time and that was good. I thought that from the information before booking we would visit the Izmir Museum, which did not happen, perhaps i was mistaken, as we did visit an historical sight. the guide was very kind to my 5yr old grandson which was very special. the highlight was a delicous lunch we enjoyed at one of the cafes at the market.

Great. Fantastic. Our guide was so nice and so knowledgable. The driver was very good, and also very personable. I enjoyed the tour and guide so much I didn't want it to end. Also, it was obvious how much she loved her country, and that was wonderful.

This tour was one of the most boring tours on my cruise. We spent most of our time in a museum listening to our guide tell us about so many dates and places that it was over saturation. I couldn't remember any of it. We were led to believe that the tour was riding , most of it was walking. Would not reccomend it.

Superb guide, fascinating site. I especially enjoyed the opportunity to enter a small mosque and discuss its traditions. The guide's historical knowledge and sensitivity made for a very special tour.

Mahmet was an excellent guide. Great historic background talk on Izmirs' past. A very cold day in Turkey, but he and the driver kept us comfortable and entertained throughout the tour. Be prepared for typical bantering by the leather salesmen during your walk through the city market.

Actually, we finally went to Ephesus... beware, as Izmir is not the Turkish name for Ephesus (that's what I tought, from the documentation of our cruiseship..., and I met others who tought the same). Ephesus is really great, you must see it. As for Izmir, it looks nice, but we did not see it a lot..

Our tour guide knew all about Izmir and took us to places and explained things that large tours could not do. A wonderful tour with a fantastic tour guide.

This was a really great half day tour with Mehmet who looked after us extremely well. He is a very personable character with a friendly but professional style - loads of knowledge, history and cultural background. By lunchtime we felt that we had a good flavour of Izmir as a City and how it fits into its historic background. Mehmet made the the whole visit both interesting and lighthearted - we were lucky to be the only visitors on this particular tour so we had undivided attention ! Great stuff.

Surprised to see such a cosmopolitan city. Guide was well versed and patient with our group.
