Wow! We had an unforgettable experience with our wonderful guide, Ceren! We were traveling as a family of five and as the planner, I wasn’t sure how interested everyone in our group would be as we are all very different. Ceren was such a great guide and immediately engaged everyone in our group and layered in so much interesting context that really enriched our experience. Not only about Ephesus but about Kusadasi and Turkey as a whole (and about Republic day which was the day we were there!) She is warm, friendly, kind, highly knowledgeable and just overall a great person! She stood out as the best guide of our 16 day Mediterranean trip. We really bonded with her and hope to see her again someday! Also we booked a private tour and during booking I requested no stops at any showrooms, rug factories etc. I didn’t even have to mention it again during our tour - we were not taken to any showrooms and instead were dropped off at the port with a dinner recommendation from Ceren where we had amazing Turkish mezze and Raki! Highly recommend getting a private tour with this company and requesting Ceren as your guide!

A must do experience!

This is a must do experience. Ephesus and the terrace houses are even more impressive than Pompeii. My guide Emre was wonderful too. He was very well versed in all the history and was excellent sharing it. He also took me to see how rugs are made and how they make the local pottery with quartz. Both are arts that are very labor intensive and becoming more rare but they were really impressive. There was no pressure to make a purchase but I did end up with a beautiful piece of pottery. I have done many Viator tours over the years and I can tell you this is my favorite one yet.

We had a wonderful experience with our guide Rosie and our wonderful driver, touring Ephesus and the Terrace Houses. Rosie was friendly and knowledgeable - so much history we can't remember it all but she emphasized the most important. We highly recommend the Terrace Houses to see the mansions of their day, complete with mosaics and frescoes. Afterwards she offered a choice to stop and see carpet making or pottery. We chose pottery and it was amazing! A multi-generational family business, UNESCO aligned, making the highest quality artistic vases and other pottery. They explained the whole process start to finish and then we toured their gallery. We had a much better experience than others who booked through the cruise line. In addition, the tour operator responded quickly to all questions and inquiries. Highly recommend.

Tour guide, I believe his name was Guido...was excellent. He knew everything about Ephesus. I heard some of other guides and he was much more knowledgeable about everything he showed us. The tour was wonderful. Another couple was in van with us. Van was very comfortable.

Neil was our the most memorable- she was an incredible guide and ensured we got the best out of the tour. Our favourite part was the stop off to the Rug Workshop, where we experienced traditional Turkish cuisine cooked by a group of lovely local ladies. Thank you Neil for giving us the best on our one day is Kusadasi , my outstanding applaud goes to Neil for including me in the tour to Mary House, spent time with me showing me around & explaining everything.. much appreciation & love to you! Fantastic half day tour

This tour was fantastic, only half day which was perfect as didn’t want to spend a full day. Tez our guide was so informative and friendly and as it was a small group (only 4 of us) we had a say in how long we wanted to spend at different parts. Saw other groups with so many people and would never have enjoyed that. Maximum is 10 with this tour.

Great tour guide. Very knowledgeable of Ephesus and easy to communicate with. We had a wonderful lunch at a local spot recommended by tour guide. Just avoid the trip to the rug factory. High pressure sales and a bad ending to an otherwise great trip.

Our guide Neich was superb. I don’t know if I’m spelling his name right, but he was kind, patient, knowledgeable, and a wonderful storyteller. He brought Ephesus to life. The actual tour was astonishing. The best ruins I’ve ever seen! Loved the terraced houses.

Ephesus will not disappoint!

Tour guide was waiting for us at the cruise terminal with my name written on a card so was easy to identify.Walked us to the awaiting very swish minibus and with only one other couple on the tour, was very roomy. He gave a very informative talk of Ephesus as we walked around the site not rushing us. Some parts of the tour can be slippery underfoot due to centuries old marble worn slabs . The guide gave us the option of seeing carpet making and or a leather store as an add on after the tour, there was no pressure and we declined , and he returned us to the cruise terminal . Can throughly recommend this trip and top tip don’t miss the terrace houses in Ephesus.

THE best guide

What a great tour! My favorite part was our guide, Gufte. She is so knowledgeable about Ephesus, and Turkish culture, and food, and politics, I felt like I got a miniature lesson in all things Türkiye in around five hours. The van ride is very comfortable, and our driver was professional, courteous, and kept us all very safe. Thank you Gufte, and I hope to see you when I am in Türkiye next! :)
