Overview

Learn to cook Malaysian food with this small group tour, where you can learn traditional Malaysian techniques with an enthusiastic group of both locals and tourists. You’ll have an authentic cooking experience, not geared solely to tourists. All of your cooking equipment and ingredients are provided, too, so you can just show up and cook.

This is for those 16 and older, so you won’t be cooking with younger children

What a great day out,...

What a great day out, sadly I was the only one there which made it a wonderful private tour for me but the operators would do well with a group as well. Tour of the market showed me the authentic shopping and everyone was very welcoming. Then a private driver to the cooking school where I was well catered for and had a lovely day testing out recipes and chatting with the tutor. Highly recommend to others.

This was great! I wanted to learn to cook Rendang. Usually the day we went is not the day for that menu but LaZat accommodated us. Excellent teacher, helper who also gave us insight into culture. We have been to other cooking schools: this was costlier, but was our very small group (3) and personal instruction.

This cooking experience was certainly beyond our expectations. It began with a punctual pick up from our hotel. Next came the market visit where we had breakfast and learnt of the names, smells, textures, tastes and looks of the ingredients we were to cook with. We learnt how to respect and love the ingredients just as much as we should love the experience of cooking for ourselves and our loved ones. Zeera was a great guide, very informative and experienced. Then we drove off to the cooking school which was located in a magical looking area in KL. We were greeted by two amazing women Irene and Ana. The house was designed perfectly for the cooking experience. As much as I explain what a wonderful experience we had cooking local delicious recipes I can say this is a trip not to be missed. Irene explained step by step how we were going to cook each separate recipe. Everything was provided from utensils to ingredients to individual cooking area (stoves etc) and we even had our own recipe book to take home.The whole staff from owners to chefs to kitchen helpers ALL worked in harmony to provide us with a great learning experience. We were teamed up with another couple who were similar in age and we also had a great time together. I could go on and on but what I would love to say is thank you to Ana, Irene, Zeera and your whole staff team for this unforgettable cooking class. We highly recommend it!
