Wonderful food tour. So interesting to learn about the city’s food. Explored the market and several venues to try a range of foods and drinks. Shaun was a fabulous host - so friendly and knowledgeable. There was a lot to eat and we were always offered more if we wanted! Would thoroughly recommend this tour - it’s fabulous 😋

A brilliant food tour and walking tour through some of the most interesting parts of KL. Uncle Sam was a fantastic guide, introducing us to some of Malaysia’s best-known dishes, including nasi lemak, while also giving us a real feel for the city. The time spent in Kampung Baru was the absolute highlight. Another knockout from A Chef’s Tour. Thank you!

I cant rate this tour highly enough. We explored with Kiran. She was honestly amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable and committed to making sure we had a great time. We visited many local restaurants and markets throughout the evening and I lost count of the number of dishes we tried. Everything from fresh fruit and durian to grilled fish and mango smoothie. We were also able to make our own roti which was then cooked and served to us with 3 different curry sauces. We visited restaurants and parts of KL that we would definitely have missed without Kiran. Make sure you are hungry when you go. The food is plentiful and delicious. Highly recommend this tour.

This tour was a unique experience that allowed us to see areas we never would have ventured in to. Chow Kit was pure Maylay. We stopped at 4 locations to sample specialties of the country. Sam was a knowledgeable guide who gave great information and service. Can't lose with this one.

Absolutely wonderful! Our tour guide Jay was absolutely marvelous and actually made the tour worthwhile. It was a lot of food but you got a sense of all types of food. Would highly recommend.

A fabulous walking tour through traditional food markets where you get to emerse yourself in the local cuisines and try things you’d never normally try.. our guide Kiran was knowledgeable and passionate about the food and history of the area.. we came away with full bellies and excited to try and navigate the cuisines on our own.

A great tour of sampling of different types of local cuisines. Stephen did a wonderful job showing us around and feeding us! If not for the pouring rain, this tour would have been a fantastic addition to my trip to Malaysia. I also wish I did not have lunch prior to the food tour. If you are a foodie like me, you will give it a try!

We recently did the Sambal Food Tour in Kuala Lumpur and it was absolutely fantastic. Our guide, Ian, was exceptional from start to finish. Before we even began, he clearly explained the entire itinerary, what foods we would be tasting, where we would be going, and what to expect throughout the evening. His knowledge of Malaysian food, culture, and local history made the experience even more enjoyable. At first, the food portions seemed quite small, but don’t be fooled! There were more than 15 different tastings throughout the tour, and by the end we were completely satisfied. Every stop offered something unique, allowing us to experience a wonderful variety of authentic Malaysian flavours. Ian was friendly, informative, organised, and passionate about what he does. He made everyone feel welcome and ensured the group had a great time. The tour was well-paced, fun, and gave us the opportunity to explore parts of Kuala Lumpur we may not have otherwise visited. This food tour was excellent value for money and one of the highlights of our trip. If you’re visiting Kuala Lumpur and want to experience authentic local food while learning about the culture, I highly recommend the Sambal Food Tour. Come hungry—you’ll need to! Kiran was absolutely fantastic! She was incredibly knowledgeable and fun as she took us through our stops and explained beautifully everything we were trying, including historical and cultural aspects. Had it not been for this tour, we would not have visited the authentic restaurants and market off the more touristy places. Excellent experience and amazing tastings. This tour was our highlight in Kuala Lumpur.

AMAZING from beginning to end. My guide, Jai, was an excellent guide and took good care of all of us, even the ones with food sensitivities. And when they say come hungry, they aren’t joking. I only ate a small snack a few hours before attending, tried to pace myself at each place, and still ran out of room for the last few items.

Great communication, before the tour as well as during it, was incredibly knowledgable ( about the food and culture ) and fun too. We visited some really interesting places with the the most delicious food to sample. We really enjoyed the roti making masterclass, especially the getting hands on and attempting to make our own, great fun! Thanks for a great time Ian!

Each stop and each dish fit the story of local food fused with the culture in KL. Stephen was a great host for this tour. I learned the history, agri-economics and preparation behind all the dishes. It really was the best food tour I have ever taken. And there were a lot more than 15 tastings.
