This class was such a great experience. It felt like learning and cooking together with a family friend at a way that allowed me to absorb the information. I was able to ask all the questions I wanted and was able to see how the ingredients contributed to the final dish. Cant wait to try these recipes back home! Thanks again!

Wow! This is so much more than a cooking class… Patricia and Kingston instantly made us feel welcome and gave us the most valuable experience. They shared much knowledge at the market and a delicious breakfast with us too. Patricia was calm and patient teaching us during the cookery class and all the while we chatted to Patricia and Kingston about Malaysian culture, the country, food, experiences and all things in between! We were lucky to meet their beautiful daughters too. By the end of our time we felt like we’d made new friends… thank you!

I had a lovely morning with Pat and her family. We started out at the local markets to pick up a couple of things and taste test a delicious Indian breakfast at the market. Back to her home where we cooked side by side. Very hands on and a good way to remember how to make the dishes when I get home. Made 3 dishes which were also accompanied by some homemade dahl and a BBQ meat from the market. Thoroughly recommend this as a way to interact with a local family and learn a little about their culture through the food.

I spent a very enjoyable morning with Patricia and her two young daughters. It ranks as one of the best cooking classes out of the many I have attended. The class provided expert hands-on tuition, practical recipes and a very friendly homely vibe. Highly recommended for both inexperienced and experienced cooks. By the way, the food eaten together at the end was delicious!

I have experienced different types of cooking classes in different countries but this cooking class at Daun Senja is definately one of the best! The family was so welcoming, kind and knowledgable. While my wife and I were taking the class, my daughter (2 years old) had so much fun playing with their daughters and didn't stop talking about it the whole day. My wife and I did not stop talking about the experience during the whole trip and still reflecting... The foods, the drinks and the vibe at the local market are something that you can not miss if you want to say you have been to Malaysia. As for the class, the instructions were clear and I was able to enjoy every moment even though I do not usually cook. Not to mentions, the food was amazing! Meeting people like Patricia and Kingston is the reason why my family can not stop travelling.

Wonderful Experience

The perfect way to spend a morning in KL. I took this class on a Monday and the markets weren’t open, so instead we started off the day in a small local restaurant enjoying some roti and dosa for breakfast. After breakfast we made the short journey to Patricia’s home. Patricia was a wonderful host. Learning to cook in her kitchen was a delight. It was a great experience to learn some local dishes in her home, meet her family and enjoy her hospitality. This cooking class is very much hands on. A great way to learn, and I look forward to recreating the dishes we made once I return home. Instruction on what to do was clear and the results of our morning cooking away was better than I could have hoped. If you are in KL and interested in learning to cook some Malaysian dishes then I can’t recommend this cooking class highly enough.

I have done cooking classes all over the world and this was definitely one of my favorites! The family was so nice and welcoming and I felt very comfortable. We went to the market, had a delicious indian breakfast, and then went back to the house to cook! The recipe was given to me and all the directions were clear. We had a lot of fun making the food and a lot of good conversations while cooking. The meal and dessert were so delicious! I had an amazing day and highly recommend this to anyone who is looking to meet a local family and cook in their home!!! The best!

The most incredible experience in Malaysia. Patricia is such a kind, funny, knowledgeable and humble soul - with two beautiful daughters. We will be forever grateful for taking us into her home and allowing us to film the whole experience. The local market and area is so different to central KL - it's calmer, slower and more peaceful. We could not see any other tourists there - a truly authentic experience. The people in the local market were incredibly friendly and kind. I would highly recommend this cooking class: the food we cooked was amazing, the company was amazing and the whole experience was authentic. Patricia and her family really make you feel welcomed. She's an amazing woman. Her communication before the class was also brilliant - she kept us in the loop and up to date. 10/10 would recommend.

We can only recommend this tour! It's not just a cooking class, but also a cultural experience! We had a great time, learned a lot about authentic malaysian food and ingredients. The market visit really was unique and Patricia & Kingston are very welcoming and openhearted hosts. The recepies we cooked were very tasty and quite different from the the malaysian food we've had in restaurants. It was probably the best we've eaten in the three weeks we were in Malaysia. Also the recepies did not feature many exotic ingredients, that we couldn't buy in Switzerland. So we think we will have a good chance at replicating it at home. Thank you very much Patricia & Kingston!

More than just a cooking class

Great cooking class in which you learn not just how to prepare some amazing dishes but also a lot about the Malaysian culture. The trip to the market was really interesting and an exploration of new food we probably would not have tried othetwise. Patricia and her husband were so Kind and interested in us and our life and culture that the time basicially flew away. I really do recommend coming here, it was one of our holiday highlights!
