Burak was such a nice guy! Excellent guide who is fun, knowledgeable about Istanbul’s history and culture. He shared so many tips and nice stories! He was punctual, and I tried so many nice foods! Fish wraps, sheep intestine wrap, pide, ayran, pickled water, lokum, islak. I was so full! I highly recommend Burak for this tour! He has perfect English and is excellent company (I was a solo traveller). Thank you!

Worth every penny!

Cumali was an amazing guide and the tour was a highlight of my trip! We had a small group (myself a family of three) which was a perfect size. Pickup at the meeting spot was easy and clear and Cumali carried an easy to spot umbrella so we never got lost in the crowds. Our tour crossed the two continents and featured restaurants and food carts I never would have found myself. A great way to spend my last night in the city!

This was our first day in Istanbul. It is HUGE - so it was so nice to get a lay of the land from Cumali. He was super informative and very fun. I highly recommend this tour and Cumali. - you won't regret it. Oh - and do not eat before you go - there is a lot of food!

Great idea to take this tour that includes Asia and Europe sides. All the food was good and the guide was friendly and very helpful. We all enjoyed (family with 2 teenagers) the walk, the food and the boat trip.

Atahan was a great host! Very knowledgeable about Turkish food & history. We had a really nice time talking to him - felt like we were hanging out with a friend by the end. He also helped us get Tram tickets and which line to take.

Salih was the absolute best tour guide I’ve ever come across. He was super knowledgeable and friendly and took us to some amazing off the radar local food places. We had been in Istanbul for a few days before this food tour and felt that we ate the same things almost every time so Salih did a fantastic job showing us some awesome new choices! Would definitely recommend.

Salih was our tour guide, and he was amazing! Very nice man who was knowledgeable about local food and culture, and it was easy to understand his English. He was accommodating when we had special requests, and made sure we made it back to our hotel safely. Ask for him by name, and hopefully he’ll be available. I liked this particular tour because it did not take all day (4 hours), and we could sample food on the European side, as well as take a ferry and sample the Asian side. The only issue was dealing with the coordinator, with minor lack of communication. With the other tours we did, the coordinator reached out to me to confirm everything, but not this one. I had to reach out to him, but it did all work out great, and I would highly recommend Istanbul Food Journey.

Slightly overpriced, however the guide Barak was pleasant and engaging. We went to both the Asian and European side of IST and ate almost everything. I'd highly recommend you only eat a very light breakfast before this tour. Only found 2 places with not so great food, otherwise the other 10 or so, has excellent food.

Had a great time on the food tour. Visited both the European and Asian sides of Istanbul and had some yummy and interesting tidbits. Got very full but it was worth it! Our guide Burak was knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. My one suggestion is that it would be great and helpful it get a printout of what food we ate and with the Turkish names.

A really great experience for trying the hidden foods of the locals and getting to know the cool areas. I wouldn’t have know where to get any of this food and I loved taking the ferry to the Asia side as I would have never done that on my own, and was introduced to a great area to visit next time. There’s a great variety but having a taste of everything doesn’t leave you too stuffed by the end! Definitely recommend it!!
