I had high hopes for a memorable journey to the top of Schilthorn. Unfortunately, the gondola was packed with so many people it was impossible to see anything while on the trip up. We were packed in like sardines, with coughing, sneezing people, and crying children. There were also bicycles brought onboard for the trip back down. Anyone with a tendency for claustraphobia would be in trouble. Having done the similar Zugspitze in Germany, Schilthorn was a real disappointment. The view at the top was lovely, but this is the only positive thing both my husband and I can say about this more than two hundred dollar experience.

I thought originally that we were meeting someone for a guided tour. The tickets basically give you access to everything as you go up to the top of the mountain. I highly recommend going up early in the morning since the clouds generally aren’t there or too many to obscure the views.
There vote is absolutely amazing! However, it was tricky having to get transportation there. We went to Interlaken West’s travel station for information and details about a bus. Also the Thrill Walk was closed which was a little disappointing. The food at the top is a little pricy but that is what you get for the great view
We found out when we got there that there was NO NEED to purchase a pass through Trip Advisor. In fact we were overcharged $100 by TA.
Also, our ticket said we were required to “meet” at the departure point at 8am. After two trains and a bus to get there, no group anywhere, we could have arrived at any time. Ticket office had no idea where to send us or even why we would buy these tickets through Trip Advisor. Basically, they pretty much thought we were stupid Americans.
If you have a Swiss pass then you get up the first half of the mountain for free. Tickets for Schilthorn can be purchased at the ticket office for as little as $42/person.
Also, don’t lose your tickets because you need them on the way down as well.
Seeing the majesty of the Alps for the first time. You’ll never forget it. Even with all the people around it felt serene.
The sceneries are breathtaking. It was one of the best I have ever seen. The only problem is not responding email questions about transportation issues that I asked several times.
Amazing views! You have to really want to see this as it is not easy to access. Includes a drive or train ride, a bus ride, and 4 gondola rides in order to reach the top. Well worth it! Recommend an early start to beat the tour buses. We went straight to Schilthorn first, then took our time at each stop on our return, Birg, Murren. Schilthorn-Bond world and skyline view was amazing. Birg-"Thrill Walk" is an understatement. Murren-car free alpine ski village. Caution if claustrophobic, acrophobic, or elderly as the gondolas may be crowded with tourists and skiers.
Outstanding, this is definately one not to be missed. I've never seen views like it, every way you turned there was another stunning vista. Obviously there was a strong theme for Bond, but it was very well done and you weren't under pressure to buy all the souvenirs. We enjoyed the skyline walk and stopping of in Murren on the way down. It was a fantastic experience and probably the highlight of our trip.
Excited to visit this attraction, on a Sunday afternoon. Booked tickets on line....easy. The cable cars were jam packed with like us tourists. People were pushing a shoving, selfie sticks being waved around, one hit me in the face...........it was so unpleasant. Long waits between the changing of cable cars.
Once, at the Piz Gloria, the views were amazing, we ate in the restaurant, the food was to a good standard....the staff were so polite and friendly.....so gave a good tip.
The return journey in the cable cars was even worse !
