A wonderful experience

It was a really good experience. The people where very kind and friendly. The setting and ambience was good too. I thought they would take us to a village from the place but apparently the drop off place is the workshop!! The drink they offered was tasty 😋 Since we opted for both lantern making and scroll painting we didn’t get to do lantern making from scratch. Others got to do that but anyway this itself was plenty fun!!! Then we moved to the workshop right next to them. People are not going for the scroll paining much so only 2 of us was there but it was really good. The people are really sweet. The artist made us draw 🌸 🎋 🌳 almost 500 times but it was cool. The gift we got from the instructor was very nice 🥹and the lamp and scroll 📜 we made where beautiful 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺worth everything.

I actually enjoyed the class a lot. First my girlfriend and I had a calligraphy artist teach us how to draw bamboo and boats. a lot of them. But it was okay since it is hard and he wanted us to improve. It felt more like training than a leisure time activity which again was totally fine. He didn’t speak English but we had a translator the whole time. We enjoyed the class and got some rather nice paintings in the end (which we got to take home) afterwards we made a lantern basically from scratch. This was great fun and the person doing the course taught very well. You could choose your own colours and fabrics and of course bring you lantern home. As they can be collapsed it is rather traveller-friendly. We enjoyed the class and would visit again. 4 stars because the toilet situation is not quite up to western standards.

Painting and Lantern experience

What a fantastic experience. Painting/ calligraphy class was such a fun time with a very experienced artist. Also loved the lantern making. Guided and helped step by step by patient friendly craftsman. My husband and I got to take home beautiful lanterns and hand painted scrolls. Very recommended and worth the price of the class. 👍
