Not so Luxury

First of all, I have a lot of praise for the tour guide. He was wonderful and consistently checking on our group to ensure everyone is well taken care of. The biggest issue I had was we have 5 people and there were 3 other people on the tour. I had to sit next to the driver on the way to Nin Binh. It was a center seat and it was hard and uncomfortable. On the way back the tour guide was nice enough to switch seats with me. This is definitely not what I expected as luxurious as advertised. The lunch was not even enough food for the 8 for the group. The most painful part is the seating situation. You should never have 8 people in a 7 seater van. Overall I’d suggest getting a Grab or hire a private driver and explore these points of interest yourself. This way you have enough time to really spend the time there at your own pace.

Excellent tour, great alternative if you want some hiking and biking with your tour. The places were beautiful and the boat ride was surreal.

Ninh Binh - Mua Viewpoint and Tam Coc are not to be missed!!

The views from the top of Mua Caves viewpoint were spectacular! The locals rowing us - with their feet - below the limestone karsts and next to rice fields were astounding! Biking was fun but we ran into quite a few other tours which was a bit annoying. The lunch food was very good but not enough. We had a snag with our group - first we had 9 people when 8 was supposed to be the max. Then 3 in the group had arranged a separate trip as the other 6. The guide was excellent at managing this - driving the 4 of us to the Mua Caves and leaving us while taking the other 3 to visit a historic town - then he picked us up at an arranged time. He also helped one member of our group by taking her on a scooter as she had hurt her ankle/foot and was unable to bike. Informative and helpful guide. If you are in Hanoi this is a high priority day trip. Easy to do - picked up in morning and back for dinner. Huge value as well.

Tour Company was a No-Show - Buyer Beware!

The guide/tour company did not show up. I consider my two-star rating generous - I have provided it in recognition of the fact that the company fairly quickly admitted their error and refunded our money (or claimed to have refunded it - we await the transaction). We booked our tour five weeks in advance. The tour company processed the payment. However, on the day of the tour we waited in the lobby of our hotel for over 90 minutes, only to be told (after messaging them several times) that the company was closed due to the Lunar New Year holiday and would not be providing any tours that day. How is it possible that this was not recognized well in advance, at the time of booking, and why were we not informed? Why was the tour booked and payment accepted in the first place? We are left wondering if the company is legitimate or if they were hoping we would simply overlook the situation. As a result of this negligence by the tour company, my wife and I wasted a precious day of vacation and were left sitting at our hotel all day rather than having another experience in the Hanoi region, as it was too late to book with another company. Impossible for us to recommend. Buyer beware!!

A nice experience while visiting Hanoi with professional guide

Picked on time, friendly tour guide, and we did everything described on the itinerary. The short bike ride is a cool thing that we did, and The boat ride through the caves are something to remember and a very unique experience.
