We had an amazing tour guide in Mina as she was knowledgeable and friendly. There were 6 of us and a great group. First up coffee in a quaint french built building with a lot of history then the church and Mina explained the history of the church and we had the opportunity to enter and walk around inside. Waling the streets of the French Quarter was enjoyable with the interesting stories Mina shared with us. We stopped for yummy ice cream and ended the tour feeling that this was one of the most enjoyable walking tours we have been on

Mina is very friendly with English speaking which makes the whole experience really smooth. The meet up coffee place is a great spot with decent coffee and long history. She took good care of us while crossing every roads. We definitely have a deeper understanding about Vietnamese history, culture and local’s pov after the tour. Great guide that you shouldn’t miss!

I only had 1 day in Hanoi and this was the perfect tour to hit all the city's highlights, learn a little about the history and culture of Vietnam as well as get some tips about food, coffee and other things to see. Mina is friendly and energetic, her tour is well planned with lots of stops but at no point did I feel rushed. She even took photos which is so useful when you are solo travelling.

Thea was an amazing guide. She knew so much that I could have just sat in a coffee shop and talked for 2 hours and still got a lot out of this tour. We walked all around the French quarter and she explained so much about the culture and history. I highly recommend this Thea and this great tour

Less than 24 hours beforehand my tour was changed to the 9:00 am and I was told there was no one to take me at 2:00. I made it work with my schedule. *This was a walking tour* around the French Quarter. For the most part, Mina was a good guide. However, I was a bit offended when she at one point asked if I knew the sacred animals of Buddhism other than the Dragon. I said the Phoenix and she said no - even though it *is* one of the four. She said she wanted to know the "next" one, which was the Unicorn. I didn't know there was a specific order to them and I felt like I'd been made to look foolish in front of the group. She never pointed out that I'd actually named one properly. I felt disheartened after being proud of myself for spending time in the country and learning about their culture, only to feel like it wasn't appreciated. After that I didn't try to interact with her questions any further. Otherwise the tour was good and Mina provided helpful information.

- Firstly, I texted you to request a reschedule at 10.24pm on Sunday 26th October, your experience started on Tuesday so your statement that I notified you less than 24 hours is incorrect. And then announcement, you agreed to change the schedule to 9am, but then you were not sure if you could join, so I texted back that I would contact my team to find a host for you, we never said "no one to take you at 2pm", if you still decide to join at 2pm, we still have another guide for you, but it won't be me
- Second: I'm very sorry if I made you feel offended by my mentioning the information in the tour, please understand because my story line and lead is logical and orderly, my answer to you does not imply insult or ridicule you. Because we are all here to learn from each other and create a comfortable atmosphere, I have had guests whose answers were completely wrong and they did not feel uncomfortable. Furthermore, Dragon or Phoenix are not Buddhist animals as you mentioned in the review, they belong to traditional beliefs and folklore, (you can find more about "Tu linh" as a reference) and it has nothing to do with Buddhism in Vietnam). So please understand us tour guide when we correct mistakes, because it is our duty and responsibility when we work to spread our culture.
We welcome constructive reviews, and we learn from reviews to improve our services and stories to share with guests.

We had the great pleasure of being guided through the French Quarter in Hanoi by Kien Pham, and we cannot recommend him highly enough. It was just my wife and me on the tour, and Kien made the entire experience both personal and deeply engaging.
Kien has a remarkable ability to bring history to life. His knowledge of Vietnam’s past—especially the French colonial period—was outstanding, and he presented it with clarity, passion, and nuance. He gave context to the architecture, culture, and political history of Hanoi in a way that was both accessible and thought-provoking.
What made the tour truly special was how tailored and conversational it felt. Kien was attentive to our interests, answered all our questions in depth, and made sure we saw parts of the French Quarter that we might have otherwise overlooked. His English was excellent, and his storytelling skills made the history of Hanoi resonate on a personal level.
If you are interested in learning more about Vietnam’s complex past while walking through one of Hanoi’s most charming districts, we highly recommend booking a tour with Kien Pham. It was one of the highlights of our trip!

Fun and informative tour with Mina! We met Mina in front of the church and went to a nearby coffee shop to try Vietnamese coffee. Mina was very informative about the French Quarter and history of Hanoi. This is not your normal bus tour of Hanoi. We walked and talked.

Being with Dung and Quon, my two wonderful and knowledgeable guides. I'm a former French teacher and was interested in exploring French colonial influences past and present. I gained insights that I would not have otherwise discovered on my own.
One thing I pointed out to them is how the Vietnamese write their numerals is in the French manner with 1s that look like 7s and 9s that look like the letter "g". Also 7s have the crossbar.

St. Joseph Cathedral. The French architecture and homes converted to coffee shops. The story telling from our guide Vu was so informative and interesting. Trying egg coffee was a delightful experience. Seeing the Metropole Hotel and the museum inside was a treat! Vu, our tour guide, is great. He was easy to understand, shared a lot of knowledge about Vietnam and Hanoi. The sights we saw, around the French Quarter, explained the history of what the French brought to Vietnam both good and bad. The tour is well planned, well paced, and we departed gaining much more insight into Vietnam's and Hanoi's histories. Of particular interest was a Vietnamese's view of the American involvement in the war. Thanks for a wonderful experience to remember.
