This walking tour was exceptional, thanks to our guide, Johnny. Despite there being only three of us—and although he clearly had a cold (which he never mentioned)—he went well above and beyond his duty. We were thoroughly spoilt for the full three hours.
Warm and engaging, he shared a remarkable amount of information in such a skilful way that it was easy to take in. His love for Glasgow shone through throughout his delivery, and his knowledge of the city’s history and culture was truly impressive. On the rare occasions he didn’t know an answer, he admitted it openly, which only added to his credibility. After the tour, he sent us a personalised email with recommendations for places to visit, as well as food and drink.

Johnny was fantastic! He was helpful right from the start by introducing himself the day before and offering assistance with any questions we may have. He is very passionate about his city and it clearly shows. We had the opportunity to see parts of Glasgow that we would not have seen on our own. I fully recommend Johnny.

Best walking tour I have ever taken and I have taken many! Extremely knowledgeable guide. You will fall in love with “Mother Glasgow” by the end of the tour. Johnny helps you to see Glasgow through his eyes. So much to see and do!

It was an excellent tour. The guide Johnny had an infectious passion for the city that kept the tour interesting from beginning to end. I appreciated the historical depth given on these tours and insight into the culture of a great city.

Perhaps the best tour we’ve ever been on. Our guide Johnny, was incredibly informative, amazingly enthusiastic, and made us feel like we had lived in the area for years by the end of the tour. Also, this was done on a cold, rainy day so not the best of circumstances. Well done Johnny!

Johnny’s a brilliant guide. Warm, enthusiastic, and full of stories. He shows Glasgow in a way that really makes you appreciate it and left us wanting to know more. Can’t rate this gander high enough. Pure Barry!

Johnny was absolutely incredible. This was one of the best walking tours I have ever been on. The tour was so engaging the hours FLEW by. He was so knowledgeable and personable. The props were such a nice touch. He had a drink for us to try and photographs to pass around while he gave us the history of certain places. Johnny remembered everyone’s names and personal details, I wish my memory was that good! This added another level of personalization to the tour. He had a good relationship with the people from all the locations we visited and I loved that he scouted out the places before we went inside to ensure we wouldn’t disturb the businesses or locals. I went on another walking tour that didn’t do this so it was much appreciated. Honestly, I felt like he should charge more! I would recommend to anybody who wants to get to the know the city. I loved the mix of tourist spots and the hidden gems of Glasgow. I do a lot of research for trips and I would never know to look for some of the places we went to. Johnny even sends recommendations at the end of the tour.

Johnny provided an EXCELLENT and thorough tour around Glasgow. We appreciated that he welcomed our 4 month old baby along for the tour and bringing our stroller was no issue at all. Johnny knew SO much about the city, history, architecture and restaurants/shops. He also took the time to get to know the group personally (all of our names and where we’re from). Getting to try Irn Bru was also a fantastic, little perk of the tour.

Johnny was an amazing tour guide - his love of Glasgow and knowledge of the city are unbeatable. He showed us many quirks, many of which I didn't know about (despite living in Glasgow for 15 years). He pointed out interesting architecture, and was very knowledgeable about the history of buildings. He recommended unique things to do, as well as places to eat and drink. Most all of, I loved his enthusiasm - it was infectious and we were all smiling the whole time.

Johnny was an excellent guide and extremely knowledgeable. Pointed out things we would never have seen or known the history.

Book this now! Johnny puts his heart, his pride for ”Mother Glasgow”, and his humor into this tour and it shows. We only had two days and this tour gave us a great sense of the city. From architecture, to history, to pubs (of course), we got a taste of everything. This tour should be top of you must do in Glasgow list!!! Wear comfy walking shoes and be prepared to have a great time.
Natalia_K, Aug 2025
This tour is highly recommended: Johnny is extremely knowledgeable about Glasgow and his love for this great city truly shows. We would not have been able to see and learn it all on our own had it not been for our great guide.
Gina_H, Aug 2025

What a wonderful way to get to know Glasgow! Johnny was incredibly knowledgeable and kept things fun. He shared tons of information about things to do and places to see. I would highly recommend the tour, well worth the money.
I also really appreciated that even when a number of people dropped out last minute he didn’t cancel as I’ve had other tours do in the past.

Great tour from Exchange Square to the Cathedral and all buildings of interest in between. Johnny was a very knowledgeable guide with a fund of anecdotes.
It took a full 3 hours.

Johnny did a great job walking us around central Mother Glasgow and telling many interesting facts about her history
Frank_R, Jul 2025
WOW! What an awesome experience. Johnny was a fabulous tour guide, very knowledgeable, and very passionate about his city. He is the owner- no substitute guides provided. Absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Glasgow. He spent about 3 hours with our small group of 9.
Very much appreciated the time he spent with us.
Bring pen and paper- a lot of information given out.

Wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for the weather!! We had a really interesting and learning time! Points of interest were shown and explained . Such a walk really makes you look and learn; from hearing about the city's architecture, history and its people who had a connection and effect on Glasgow - some more famous than others! Our guide was really friendly and even got us a drink!
Lori_V, Jul 2025
Johnny was friendly and knowledgeable-he gave great insights of the history and culture of Glasgow! He was sure to get to know everyone in our group and make sure we were all comfortable. Awesome tour of the main places to see in Glasgow. Our tour guide Johnny was enthusiastic, informed, energetic, took us to out-of-the-way sights that we normally would have missed, and offered a few suggestions that were spot on, such as the Step Bar, a local gem of a pub that is worth checking out. Johnny also emailed us an extensive list of not only what we saw, but also lots of recommendations for food, drink, and other places to see. Highly recommend it - one of the best tours we've taken in quite a while.
Andreia_D, Jul 2025
