This was the best Hop on hop off we have encountered so far. Buses were on time and commentary was easy to listen to and informative. Would throughly recommend this tour as it gives a good tour around the city.

Not clear on the pick up stops....very late...moved stops without notification..employees not organized at all

Response from Host, May 2026

Hi Alberto, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your City Sightseeing Glasgow tour. We are very sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations, particularly regarding the clarity of the pick-up stops and the delays you experienced. We also regret that any changes to stops were not communicated clearly, as we understand how important accurate and timely information is when planning your visit. Your comments about organization and communication have been taken seriously and will be shared with our local team in Glasgow so we can review procedures and improve both operational coordination and passenger information at stops and onboard. No notice cancellation

Joyce_W, May 2026
The company charged my card even though they already knew the service was canceled due to a run for life event scheduled in the city and on the bus route. I was not made aware until I went to their website to get a map of the route.

Response from Host, May 2026

Dear Joyce, Thank you for your message and for sharing your experience regarding our City Sightseeing Glasgow Hop-on Hop-off Bus. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience you encountered. When special events take place in the city, such as the Run for Life event in Glasgow, temporary route disruptions or cancellations may occur due to road closures imposed by local authorities. We understand how frustrating it must have been to discover this only when checking the route information. Regarding the charge on your card, we sincerely apologize for the confusion. In cases where services are impacted by external events, we always aim to inform customers as early as possible and offer suitable alternatives or assistance. It is clear that in your case, this communication did not reach you in time, and we regret this very much. We will forward your feedback internally to improve both our customer communication system and the handling of schedule changes during major city events. We hope you will consider giving City Sightseeing Glasgow another opportunity in the future so we can provide the service and experience you expected.

Disappointed

Veronica_V, May 2026
I booked this bus tour for friends from Netherlands so they could get to see Glasgow sites. I was disappointed from the start with no sound from our ear phones to hear about the city and this happened to alot of people sitting close to us too. Then there was road closures so alot of places we didn't get to see. It definitely didn't feel we got the experience we expected and it was not worth the money won't be doing the tour again.

Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback Veronica. We are very sorry to hear that your experience with the City Sightseeing Glasgow hop-on hop-off bus tour did not meet your expectations, especially as you were showing the city to your friends from the Netherlands. We sincerely apologise for the issue with the audio/earphones not working properly, which clearly affected your ability to enjoy the full guided experience of the Glasgow sightseeing tour. This is not the standard we aim to deliver, and we understand how disappointing it must have been, especially for visitors relying on the commentary to discover the city. We also regret the impact of road closures, which unfortunately can sometimes affect the full hop-on hop-off bus route in Glasgow due to traffic restrictions beyond our control. However, we fully understand that this meant you were unable to see all the highlights you had planned to visit. Your comments are very important to us and will be shared with our operations team to improve both the on-board audio system and communication during service disruptions, ensuring a better City Sightseeing experience in Glasgow for future passengers. If you ever reconsider, we would love the opportunity to welcome you again and provide a much smoother experience, so you and your guests can fully enjoy. Thank you again for your honest feedback.

Hop on Hop Off Glasgow Bus

James_T, May 2026
There are a lot of stops so it takes a while if you plan to do the entire loop. It's a good way to see the local sites however.

Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you very much for your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you found the tour in Glasgow to be a good way to see the local sights and get an overview of the city. As you mention, the full loop includes many stops, which is designed to cover as many key points of interest as possible. This can mean that completing the entire route may take some time, especially depending on traffic conditions, but it also allows passengers the flexibility to explore the city at their own pace. We really appreciate your comments and hope to welcome you on board again in the future.

A glance of Glasgow

Ruth_B, May 2026
The best view and experience is at the top open air section of the bus. It can be very windy there are major road works and some stops are not available although bus operators try to get as close to as passible good staff

Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you very much for your review! We’re really glad to hear you enjoyed the best views from the open-top section of the City Sightseeing Glasgow bus. It’s indeed one of the best ways to experience the city and take in its atmosphere from above. We also appreciate your understanding regarding the ongoing road works, which can sometimes affect accessibility to certain stops. Our team always does its best to operate as close as possible to the designated routes and ensure a smooth experience for all passengers. We’re especially pleased that you highlighted our staff. We will make sure to pass on your kind words to the team. We hope to welcome you back on board City Sightseeing Glasgow soon!

No problems!

Annette_B, May 2026
Must take a train to get here if traveling from a cruise. The nearest stop is about a block away. It was a crowded stop but they called up an extra bus which arrived in about 5 minutes, so they did try to accommodate. I don’t think they were expecting as many people, so knowing the cruise schedule might have helped! The pre-recorded information was very good. We rode it to the St Mungo Cathedral/Museum stop then walked, so not sure how the wait at different stops were.

Response from Host, May 2026

Dear Annette, Thank you very much for your kind review. We are pleased to hear that overall you had a smooth experience on the Glasgow Hop-On Hop-Off tour and that the pre-recorded commentary was informative and enjoyable. It is also great to know that additional capacity was provided promptly at a busy stop, and that this helped reduce your waiting time. We appreciate your helpful observation regarding cruise ship arrival times, as this is valuable feedback that can assist in improving planning and service coordination during peak periods. Thank you again for choosing our tour, and we hope to welcome you back in the future. Kind regards, Quality Department

More information please on pickup stop street addresses

Marcia_S, May 2026
Finding the first stop to get on the bus was confusing. Better location instructions are needed. The First bus had a guide which was nice The second bus we got on required earphones which we did not know we needed and the driver did not mention it.

Response from Host, May 2026

Dear Marcia, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you experienced confusion when locating the initial boarding point in Glasgow. We understand how important clear and detailed instructions are when starting a tour, and we regret any inconvenience this caused. We also appreciate your comments regarding the onboard experience. While it is good to know you enjoyed the live guide on the first bus, we are sorry that the requirement for headphones on the second bus was not clearly communicated by the driver. This is not the level of consistency we aim to provide, and your feedback will be shared with the local team to ensure clearer communication going forward. Your suggestion regarding clearer pickup stop information and street addresses is very helpful and will be reviewed to improve pre-travel guidance for future guests. Thank you again for your valuable comments, and we hope to welcome you again for a smoother experience in the future. Kind regards, Quality Department

Disappointed

Patricia_G, Apr 2026
Unfortunately, several of the stops were closed for various reasons… The beginning of our trip was delayed by 15 minutes as the bus came to our stop the driver said he needed to take seven minutes of break time then after the seven minutes, we were told that we had to wait another five or six minutes waiting for another bus to come because it needed to go out of service. I know that the stop closures are not entirely the fault of the bus line, however when paying 20 pounds per person, it’s a little bit irritating not to be able to go to the stops that are on the route. Viator does such a good job about communicating via email on prepaid and Advanced tickets. They should’ve been able to let us know that quite a few of the stocks would be closed and offered us a refund if we chose not to waste our time or money.

Response from Host, May 2026

Hi Patricia 👋 Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience in Glasgow did not meet expectations and that service adjustments affected your ability to fully enjoy the route. We understand how frustrating this can be, especially when planning your day around specific stops. Your comments are appreciated and will be shared with our local team, as well as taken into account regarding clearer communication ahead of travel. Thank you for choosing City Sightseeing 🚍

Kenneth_F, Apr 2026
Didn’t get to use my tickets. I was told by the agent the hoho bus stop was outside the cruise terminal. It wasn’t. It was a train ride 30 minutes away.

Tour is good Viator could be better

John_C, Apr 2026
The overall ride is good to see key areas in the city. Having more busses and a longer day of riding would be nice. Bus site provided a nice schedule. Would be very helpful I’d Viator would provide link to bus schedule.

Poor Communication Terrible Map

Wade_H, Apr 2026
The #1 stop was not available due to construction. The map should have been updated. It was not explained that #2 was the new #1. It was a hike back to the shopping. The last stop before #1 would have been much closer. Again, not communicated. Driver was rude as well. Come on, Hop On, you can do better.

One of the best HOHOs!

Deborah_E, Apr 2026
One of the best HOHOs! Live host aboard -Thomas was excellent! Top deck is 30% covered for protection against sudden showers.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your experience with City Sightseeing Glasgow and that it’s been one of the best Hop-on Hop-off (HOHO) tours you’ve tried. We’re also glad you found the top deck well adapted for Glasgow’s changeable weather, allowing you to enjoy the views comfortably even with sudden showers. We hope to welcome you on board again soon for another great ride through Glasgow

Jeffrey_P, Apr 2026
It is a good way to see a lot of Glasgow, however the buses were a little hard to find due to construction and cancelled stops. Frequency is every 30 mins but they are not consistent and if you miss it you miss it and it could be a very long time before another bus stops by. We spent a lot for one waiting around after hoping off somewhere for the next bus to show up. At one point the bus turned down a different street and never circled back to the stop, we ended up waiting for just under an hour at the bus stop before being able to hop back on.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Dear Jeffrey_P, Thank you for sharing your feedback about your experience on the City Sightseeing Hop-On Hop-Off tour in Glasgow. We are glad to hear that the tour provided a good way to see the city. However, we are sorry to learn about the difficulties you experienced with stop accessibility, service frequency, and waiting times during your visit. Your comments are very important to us and have been shared with our local operations team for review, as we continuously work to improve route reliability and the overall guest experience. We appreciate you taking the time to let us know, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future. Kind regards, City Sightseeing Team

Make other plans!!

Cynthia_M, Mar 2026
I waited at the bus stop for an hour and a half and the bus never came by. I went to another bus stop and waited there, they never came. I contacted the bus company while I was waiting to inquire if the bus was running, They said, because I purchased the ticket through a third party (aviator, there was nothing they could do for me.) I missed out on seeing Kellingrove and the Glasgow Cathedral because waiting for the bus wasted so much of my short time in the city.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Hi Cynthia, Thank you for sharing your experience, and we’re very sorry to hear about the difficulties you faced during your visit to Glasgow. We completely understand how frustrating it must have been to wait for the bus for so long and miss out on visiting iconic sites like Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum and Glasgow Cathedral. When tickets are purchased through third parties, it can sometimes limit our ability to resolve issues on the spot, but your feedback is invaluable for helping us improve communication and support in these situations. We truly hope to have the opportunity to show you a smoother and more enjoyable experience on a future visit. Best regards, The City Sightseeing Glasgow Team

There was no bus we searched for 2 hours looking for a bus stop or bus and nothing so never used this

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Hi Sarah, thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear about the difficulty you experienced when trying to find the City Sightseeing Glasgow Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour. We completely understand how frustrating it must have been to spend time searching for a stop and not being able to start the tour as planned. 🚌 Occasionally, roadworks or temporary route changes in Glasgow city centre can affect stop locations or accessibility, and we are constantly working to improve how this information is communicated to our guests. Your feedback helps us identify where clearer directions and signage are needed. If you plan to visit Glasgow again, we recommend checking the official route map and stop information before starting the tour to easily locate the nearest boarding point. The tour is designed to give visitors a convenient overview of the city’s highlights, including areas such as George Square, the Riverside Museum, and the West End. 🏛️ We truly appreciate you bringing this to our attention and hope we’ll have the opportunity to welcome you on board for a much smoother Glasgow sightseeing bus experience in the future.

Not easy to access the tour

Morag_P, Mar 2026
With all the construction work, there was no clear signage for where the tour started. I booked with Viator. Eventually got on at stop 7 after walking around the Merchant City trying to find the bus. Was told that I should have checked the Sightseeing bus website direct ( apparently there are loads 🤔?) really frustrating. Contacted Viator and received a reply 6 hours later. Tour itself was interesting enough but just an audio tour and majority of time spent in roadworks. No clear signage or staff available. Bus driver was lovely and helpful and so was the guide who checked the tickets. Disappointed that had to waste nearly an hour trying to find the stops and the bus.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Hi, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the City Sightseeing Glasgow Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour. We’re sorry to hear that it was difficult to locate the starting point of the tour, especially with the current construction works in the city. We understand how frustrating it must have been to spend extra time searching for the stop before being able to start your sightseeing experience. 🚌 Ongoing roadworks and temporary route adjustments can sometimes affect signage and stop visibility, but your feedback is extremely valuable and helps us improve how we communicate stop locations and updates to our guests. We’re very pleased to hear that our driver and the team member checking tickets were helpful and welcoming during your tour. For future visits, we recommend checking the official route map and stop information before the tour, as this can help locate the nearest boarding points more easily when temporary changes occur in the city. Glasgow has many fascinating landmarks along the route, and the tour is designed to give visitors a convenient overview of the city’s rich history and architecture. 🏛️ We truly appreciate your comments and hope we’ll have the opportunity to welcome you again for a smoother and more enjoyable City Sightseeing Glasgow experience in the future.

Worst route/ mapping, renders it near impossible to hop on and off at different stops

Magdalena_D, Feb 2026
The bus is the same as in any other place. I have used this company across Europe but Glasgow by far has the worst map. The guidance to each stop is atrocious, they are just random bus stops among lots of other bus stops and random streets. Really poorly laid out and the worst signage of any city I have used this company in.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your feedback about your experience with City Sightseeing Glasgow. We truly appreciate you taking the time to let us know, especially as someone who has used our Hop-On Hop-Off bus tours across Europe. We’re sorry to hear that you found the stop map and signage in Glasgow unclear. Clear guidance to each stop is essential for enjoying a smooth Glasgow Hop-On Hop-Off bus tour, and we regret that this aspect did not meet your expectations. Your comments regarding the layout of the map and the visibility of signage among other local bus stops are very valuable, and we will share them with our local operations team for review and improvement. Our aim is to make it easy for visitors to explore highlights such as Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Glasgow Cathedral and Riverside Museum with confidence and convenience. We are sorry that navigating the stops detracted from your overall experience. We hope that despite the signage challenges, you were still able to enjoy discovering Glasgow, and we appreciate your constructive feedback as it helps us improve our sightseeing bus service.

Sharon_W, Jan 2026

Great trip round the city. The drivers were all excellent and helpful. We hopped off a few times and the drivers were able to give us guidance and directions to various sites.

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Thank you so much Joan! We’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your trip around Glasgow and that our drivers were helpful and attentive. We hope to welcome you back soon for another great City Sightseeing experience!

Changes without notification. Very long waiting times!

Semra_K, Nov 2025
Seemed like a good idea, some positives but major negatives too. The online booking was easy, the information provided had stated to wait at Bus Stop 1, which we did for over half an hour. We decided to walk to our first visit, Glasgow Cathedral, then we saw 2 buses at stop 2. Having enquired with one driver, were told that stop 1, 5, etc were out of use! Yet, no such information came through on the app. I messaged several times on the chat but no reply to any messages! We eventually got on to another bus, the audio was very good. Lots of useful information. We got off again on 11a, then waited well over 30 minutes again, in the end we had to call an uber for the rest of our journey.

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Dear Customer, Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your City Sightseeing experience in Glasgow. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you faced with the bus stops and the lack of communication through the app and chat. We understand how frustrating it must have been to wait and then have to adjust your plans. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the audio commentary and found the information useful once you were on the bus. Please rest assured that we are reviewing the issues you mentioned regarding stop closures and communication, so we can improve the experience for future customers. We appreciate your feedback and hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a smoother and more enjoyable journey in the future. Kind regards, The City Sightseeing Team
