We were met by our guide Mario at the allotted point and taken to his aircon mini bus. Be aware that if you can’t walk up steps or on stony ground you probably won’t be able to do the his tour . Mario was an extremely knowledgeable guide and we had plenty of time at each of the 4 stops . This is much more than I expected and we were both delighted with the experience.

Our tour guide Mario was fantastic! Extremely informative about the history of Dubrovnik. Would totally recommend the tour. He had everything from indepth information, humour, very charismatic and friendly. For me this small excursion was the best part of our visit to the beautiful, amazing city of Dubrovnik

Great sightseeing trip

We had a fabulous tour with Dennis. He was a very informative guide, great driver and very courteous. The time at each stop was perfect for looking around and taking photos. The company allowed us to swap our trip from the Friday evening to the Saturday which was also great.

This was a terrible experience. We booked what we thought were advance tickets for the cable car to the top of Srd Hill. An Internet search for "Dubrovnik cable car" turned up the Viator website at the very top, with "Dubrovnik Panoramic Sightseeing Tour - Cable Car View" the first offering. We purchased it, looking forward to spending some time up above, taking photos of the sunset, and having dinner in the restaurant. We were picked up by a driver, and found ourselves in the very cramped third seat of a bad smelling (horrible air freshener attempting to mask what?) vehicle. The seat was difficult to get in and out. It had poor views out the small windows and was too far back to converse easily with the driver. The first "photo" stop was a puzzle - no idea why anyone would go to this rundown and uninteresting site to take photos. The second was lovely, and the third was within walking distance of the cable car station at the top, so we made our escape, bought tickets and took the cable car down. A refund would help, although it doesn't replace the lost experience we'd been looking forward to.

The panoramic view was fantastic. I would recommend doing this activity when the sun is setting over Dubrovnik. The driver was helpful, kind and knowledgeable about the city. Very passionate about his job.

Better than a cable car tour

Ivan was a fantastic guide! He made sure that we got the best photos and even showed us some hidden gems that helped us feel like we were locals. The timing coincided with sunset so the views were so breath taking. By making multiple stops we were able to see Dubrovnik from all angels. Much better than taking a cable car tour!

Fantastic alternative to ship excursion

This 2 hour excursion was perfect away from our ship. The guide took us to several great photo spots and shared some local history and information, then delivered us back to Dbrovnik Old City Gates to explore on our own before returning to our ship. It was exactly what we wanted: scenery without being held captive to a 5-hour ship excursion.

Great views of Dubrovnik

We booked this tour while on a cruise. The tour departed from the same location where the cruise shuttle bus brought us. We shared a van with a family of 4. It was difficult to find the tour guide due to the large number of people at the meeting area and the guide was late. Our first stop was the Franjo Tudman bridge that provided excellent views of the port and city. We then went to the smallest river in Europe, just outside town, that used to have a water wheel. The last stop was Mt. Srd which is over 1,300 feet high and provides amazing views of the town and surrounding area. We only spent about 15 minutes at each stop. More time is needed at Mt. Srd. If you want to spend more time on Mt. Srd you can take the cable car from Dubrovnik. There is a restaurant, a war museum and Fort Imperial that you can visit, however we did not have time to see these. I think the tour was worth the cost for the amazing views and information provided by the guide.

The panoramic sightseeing tour by car was amazing. With very experienced and careful driver, navigating through narrow road up the hill. To see a mesmerising view of the city. Passing through and stopping to see the shortest river Omla and drinking cold running mineral water . This should not be missed.

It wasn’t worth the money - no highlights or positive reasons to join this tour. Could not hear the tour guide unless sitting beside the driver as no mic in the seven seater car.

Dear Joe, it is a car with 2 rows of seats, it is not a bus, nobody ever asked for mic or earpieces in a van with 7 people. You were behind driver and your wife and kids behind you. There is no 3 rd row. Have a nice vacation. Regards Katja

Mario was an excellent guide. He knew the history of what we were seeing. We were really pleased we didn't take the cable car as we originally planned because it was packed with tourists and we wouldn't have seen much.

Beautiful views with bizarre detours

Honestly the best part of this two hour trip was the last 20 minutes when we finally arrived at the summit to view the sunset, which really was spectacular. We also stopped at a viewing area right below the cable car stop which was beautiful and gave us photos that were unobstructed by the cables. The hour and a half prior to that was exhausting. Although our family enjoys learning about local history, Mario literally did not stop talking. I did not appreciate his Game of Thrones analysis and spoiler alerts after we told him one of our daughters hadn’t seen it yet. But the worst part was the stop at the abandoned mill where we spent 20 minutes learning about the history of Dubrovniks water supply. Mario pulled out used empty soda bottles from his car and filled them from the natural water faucet encouraging everyone to try it. That disgusted me. Overall he was a very nice man with good intentions but this was not what we expected and was just a bit much for us.

Outstanding Let’s face it…Dubrovnik is expensive but this experience is absolutely the best value you will find. Mario the guide is so passionate about Croatia and Dubrovnik it makes this spectacular tour more memorable. A highlight of our visit to this hugely visually enjoyable destination.
